Foreign investment differs in each country and will determine how the company will be built. The political and legal factors can affect human resource management in global markets. Regulations imposed by the country’s legal system can strongly affect human resource management. The political and legal system can dictate the requirements of human resources such as training, pay compensation, hiring and firing, and layoffs. The legal factor pertains to the matter of what constitutes as legitimate behavior. For example, in America, we fight against discrimination in the workplace whereas in other countries, the employees have a direct influence on the important decisions that affect them such as new strategies that would directly affect hours, payment, hiring, and transfers.
Description of the Problem The effective management of human capital will be pivotal to an organization’s ability to survive and thrive. (http://www.anderson.ucla.edu) Political and legal factors are affecting global human resource management. Human resource management became global when companies start to ship their products and to build companies overseas. Business owners found it cheaper to manufacture products and offer services in other countries. As a result of this, where is the fairness in an American business owner outsourcing jobs internationally and robbing the American people of jobs in order to live and take care of their family? One
Employment practices of organizations in the United States are regulated at federal and state levels. The human resource process is impacted by regulatory requirements in the workplace. Legal and social regulations are crucial when managing the workforce or future supplies for labor in the workplace.
The HRM policy of a firm is looked as a most important strength which needs to be taken care of all the time to have a competitive advantage within the industry they operating in. Multinational corporations (MNCs) seek to transfer their home-country human resource management (HRM) practices to their overseas subsidiary as to them it is just another approach towards globalisation. It can be an element of success for MNCs if they manage to transfer these HRM practices across their subsidiaries in an effective manner. An effective transition of these policies depends on the organisational, cultural, social and relational factors (Bartlett & Ghoshal 1998; Evans, Pucik & Barsoux 2002; Poedenphant 2002). The transition of these policies
As we enter the new millennium, more and more companies are recognizing the importance of managing their human resources as effectively as possible. They are also recognizing that doing so, however, cannot be done without recognition and incorporation of the global context. It is virtually impossible to read a business periodical or

While there are many various global issues that affect the International Human Resource Management to run efficiently, there are two key concepts that play a major role in understanding how to approach them with cohesive and a well coherent strategy; they are the International Human Recourse Management Strategy and Understanding the Cultural Environment. In the International Resource Management strategy, many companies will do their research in finding companies that offer the

Human Resource Management (HMR) is built upon many different areas. The way each organization allocates resources for each area is different. Since every organization is different and has different requirements, not every HRM process is going to be the same. The areas this paper will focused on are Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and the Commission (EEOC) which governs the EEO regulation, human resource planning, recruitment, and selection, compensation and benefits, safety and health, employee and labor relations, and human resources development. Even though each industry and organization is
Change is never easy. Casino X has been working with the same mindset for many years. In the past this was a profitable company but with the globalization of culture and the marketplace, due in part to the technology growth and the internet, they cannot successfully work with an outdated human resource system. The casinos have had a transactional style of leadership; believing that the primary purpose of a subordinate is to do their jobs, create clear work requirements, and expect the job to be done without question and immediately. The leaders have a realist view of thinking and use their expertise as their source of power (IAAP Administrative Professionals Week Event, 2009). National

In particular, the countries cultural differences, differences in economic development and legal systems may require an international company adaptation programs of hiring, firing, training and remuneration for
The role of human resource management is being increasingly affected and reshaped by the growing diversity of the workforce, global and domestic compensation, and complex legal and ethical issues (Kabene, Orchard, Howard, Soriano & Leduc, 2006). Human Resource management is faced with the hardship of balancing its responsibilities towards the organization it serves as well as to the society in which it operates in. HR Departments need to work with individuals in the organization to ensure the organization is successful and make sure every employee understands his or her duties (Gomez-Mejia, Balkin, & Cardy, 2010).
The rapid pace of Globalization has led to a change in the global economy during the past several decades; it is believe that factors such as trade liberalisation, access to cheaper labour and resources, similarity of consumer demand around the world, and advances in technology and communication has widened the market of consumption, investment as well as production on a global scale. These globalization driven factors created new challenges and global competition for businesses around the world thus as a response many companies decided to expand their operation across national borders in order to be competitive. A company that operates their business in at least one country other than its country is called Multinational
As a Human Resource Director, it is my duty to launch a performance management system. There are many different systems that would benefit this 5-year-old company but the one most beneficial has to be put in place. All factors have to be addressed when deciding on the system. The age of the company which is 5 years old. This is significant because the same performance management tool that a 50-year-old company would use may not be valuable to this company. Another factor that must be addressed is the average age of the employees. The average 33-year-old may respond differently then would a 55-year-old seasoned employee to an employee performance management system.
