Analyse the teachings of Islam as they apply to TWO specific areas of Bioethics.
The Islamic view of life is based upon the notion that faith provides the sanctity of life. The Qur’an states;
“Whosoever has spared the life of a soul, it is as though he has spared the life of all people. Whosoever has killed a soul, it is as though he has murdered all of mankind.” - Qur 'an 5:32
The religion of Islam is founded upon the core principle that the acceptance and realisation of God’s divine determination is revealed through one’s degree of submission. Muslims themselves will always try to find the best way to follow and respond to God’s will, which more often than not takes them into the domain of ethical issues and decisions. God’s word and teachings are found in the Islamic sacred text of the Qur’ran. Considering that the Qu’ran is over thirteen hundred years, this creates an obstacle for Muslims to follow God’s will, as many of the contemporary issues regarding bioethics were not addressed in the period of which the Qur’an was written
The religion of Islam is an all encompassing religion with a comprehensive law that provides guidance in all key aspects of life. This law is known as Shariah Law. Shariah contains both legal rules and ethical principles. Shariah is summed up under four broad categories:
Aqidah - Creed
Ibadah - Religious Worship and Practices
Akhlaq - Morality and Ethics
Muamalah - Social Relations
Human freedoms in the religion of Islam are not absolute and
At first, the history of Islam is connected to Mohamed’s life. Mohamed was born in to a wealthy merchant Clan, which is now Saudi Arabia. On the other hand Muslims thought Islam began with God. Mohamed was raised by his uncle, because his parents and grandparents passed away. Mohamed lived the life of a Quryash Merchant then later married a girl by the name of Khadija. Mohamed started hearing voices and though he was going mad. But Khadija thought differently and told Mohamed that he was the chosen one. Mohamed searched for the true faith of Judaism and Christianity. Mohamed isolated himself in to the mountains near Mecca for retreat and mediation. Gabriel the Angel told Mohamed to recite the Koran. The Koran was only originally recited and not written down in one volume until after Mohamed’s death. This has brought controversy over the authentic composition. Mohamed’s wife was the first to convert.
Sharia is a major aspect of everyday life for Muslims as it is Islamic law. Yet it is much more than that; in essence Sharia is actually a moral code that concerns one’s personal relationship with God. It has been written over many centuries as it is constantly being updated based on interpretations of modern scholars. It largely focuses on how an individual practices their Islamic faith and follows basic Islamic principles, as well as family law, such as marriage and divorce. However, Sharia is not actually obligatory for Muslims to follow, but the vast majority choses to do so. Sharia can be very diverse as it comes down to how the individual chooses to interpret and follow it.
Wherever we are and in whatever time we happen to live, we cannot avoid asking the basic questions of who we are, where we came from, what we are doing here, and where we are going. In everyone's life, especially when one is young, these basic questions arise in the mind, often with force, and demand answers from us. Many simply push them aside or remain satisfied with established answers provided by others in their family or community. In traditional societies such answers always came from the teachings of religion, and to a great extent they still do for the majority of people in many parts of the world. But there have always been and still are today the few who take the question "who am I?" seriously and existentially and who are not satisfied with answers provided by others. Rather, they seek to find the

According to a Britannica article by Annemarie Schimmel, Muhammad is the last of a series of prophets, according to the Islam religion. He is considered the messenger of Allah who was given the words to write the Qur'an from Allah through the angel Gabriel (Schimmel, 2016).

Let me start off by clarifying that this is not the personal site of Muhammad Ali Hasan. I am just an observer and wanted to acknowledge the work he is doing in the United States on behalf of Muslim Americans. People are often afraid of what they don't understand and Muhammad Ali Hasan is doing his best to clear up fears and misconceptions of what many believe the Muslim culture to be. From my experience many Americans do not understand the followers of Islam.
Today as never before, scientists are manipulating the machinery of life. The religious debate is swinging and buzzing about when the life begins .Some religious fundamental belief asserts the sanctity of human life even if it is in the embryonic stage. But this fundamental belief clashes when it faces another fundamental to alleviate suffering and cure disease. In Catholic religion. Most of Christian sects claim that the human life begins at conception (the fertilization) and their strongest objection is regarding the embryo destruction in this stage. They say that it is totally unacceptable to kill an embryo even though the goal is to relieve the misery of others and to safe thousands of patients’ life. In Islam, Qur'an clarify that whosoever
Sharia law is an ancient compilation of religious rules that most Muslim nations seek reference in governing their people. Also defined as Islamic law, the essence of sharia laws emanated from the life of Prophet Mohammed known as the hadiths as well as the Quran teachings. The hadiths entail the vocal expressions of prophet Muhammad on divine life and his condemnation of immoral behavior that undermine the acceptable way of life. The teachings are accepted by the Muslim community who affirm that Muhammad’s teachings supplement the functionality of the Quran. On the other hand, the Quran, which forms the core reference on Muslim beliefs and regulations provides moral and spiritual guidance among the Muslims. It also dictates how the Muslims should interact with the non-Muslim community without contravening on the sharia doctrines (Hallaq 20-25).
Islam has definite views on euthanasia, and this essay will bring to the fore all of the main beliefs relevant to the issue of euthanasia/assisted suicide. Islam spells things out quite plainly, with enough similes to clarify every point in the system of beliefs.
To observant Muslims, ritual prayer is as natural as sleeping or eating. Islam is not just one component of its believers' lives, a set of beliefs remembered on special occasions. Rather, for the devout, it is a way of life. Its tenets and rules permeate almost everything, often including politics and government.
"Islam" is derived from the Arabic root salaama meaning peace, purity, submission and obedience. Islam stands for making peace by submitting to the will of God and obeying His law. Jews and Christians view Islam as the latest of the world's great religions. However, worldwide Muslims (sometimes written "Moslems") understand their universal religion as the "final religion" and the "primal religion."
Islam is the religion for about a fifth of the world’s population and is continually growing in numbers. The people who believe in Islam, are called Muslims. It is a religion full of peace, mercy, and forgiveness (Basic facts about). Islam was founded in the 7th
The holy Quran is a collection of the divinely inspired utterances and discourses (Ahmed, 16). It is composed of some 300 pages which are divided into 114 Surahs (chapters). The general tone of the holy Quran is sombre and meditative. It is a dialogue between God and humanity. At the core is a moral earnestness (Ahmed, 16). The Quran also teaches that humanity is created by God and therefore God understands its weaknesses and in Allah humans find the source of peace. Islam’s appeal lay – and – lies in the simplicity: one God, one Book, one Prophet (Ahmed, 17). Islam is a religion of balance, equilibrium, and compassion. The Islamic virtues are courage, generosity, cleanliness, and piety: and in his life the Prophet exemplifies them (Ahmed, 17).
