On this episode of Face the Nation, government officials were interviewed on their thoughts and opinions going on with the current issues in our government at the end of this month and they talked about Republicans disagreeing with Trump’s decisions with tax reform. The other issues that were discussed were Russian interference from the previous election with investigations taking place for this issue and Trump’s declare for a national emergency for the opioid crisis. Each person interviewed takes their own stand on what they think will happen because of these problems going on and what should happen for each issue going on in the U.S. The first person interviewed Bob Corker talks about his own views on tax reform that people are …show more content…

He first talks about his concerns for information leaks and how he feels that it is against the law. Christie also discusses the opioid crisis with money spending and how Trump is launching campaigns to help prevent people from using drugs. He expresses that he feels Trump is opening up opportunities for those who are poor and need medical care. Christie lastly talks about how the real problem from the damages in Puerto Rico was that the info-structure was already damaged and roads that are closed. David Naka-Mona was interviewed as he discusses his own views on Trump and the Russian investigations. He first discusses how he feels that nothing animates Trump more than lashing out at people about the investigation. Also how trump doesn’t want to talk about the investigation and how Russia is affecting democracy. This shows how he expresses his own views on the investigations and Trump's decision making. Ruth Marcus discusses Trump's choices of having reluctance in going after Mueller who is suspected to be involved with the Russian intervention and that a responsible president would get to the bottom of the Russian interventions. Ben Noweck was also interviewed and talks about how he thinks that Russian intervention is unclear and finally discusses how Republicans are using severe language when talking about the president. In my own perspective, I do agree that Russia was involved in the 2016 election since there is evidence of this.
