Image if you were alone in this world and you had know parents, know clothes, and you had nobody. How would you feel? Well let me tell you what I would feel. I would feel alone and would want to have a friend to talk to and not have the feeling of being alone. I would want to have clothes. I would want a family and to love. So I think Dr. Victor Frankenstein made a mistake in killing the female monster.
Well I disagree with his decision because the monster could be evil or it could be nice and to the point where people are no longer scared of them. People may think that the monsters can be evil or they can look past the looks and look in their hearts. If victor was in the monster's place what would he feel. Would victor still want to see someone kill your only family member you have. I think the monster just wants to be happy yes there are ups and downs, but it's better to put yourself into his position. If the monster was nice what could happen they can live a happy life away from people and live with each other and make each other happy. People may judge the monsters so that's why they would move away from people and live on there own. Just think there can be thing that go wrong but there are things that can happen to make things right.the monsters can probably kill but they can help if there nice. The monsters could change and they would want to live on there own.
If victor think that they could have babies then why not close or make it so they can't have babies. If the monster did have babies then they can be a family and maybe kill or make be happy with what they have and have each other. The family could live in the middle of nowhere and they may be happy, may not. The monsters can be scary to let out by them self ,but there can be ups and downs to that the monsters can be happy and leave the people alone or go back to killing. The female monster has a heart and so does the male monster i think that they can be happy and stop killing and if they have babies i think they can be a happy family. Victor just need to think about can go right and not wrong there are so many things that can go wrong but there are things that can go right if he really doesn’t want the monsters to breed then he can just close
What is a monster, really? Is it really a Creature that has three eyes instead of two, with pus seeping out of every crevice in his face and an abnormally large form? Or is it someone with a mind so corrupt it rivals that of Satan? Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is a story within a story that centers on the tale of a man with an immense thirst of knowledge and a fetish to imitate the Creator. Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is a lot like the Greek mythological tale of the Greek God, Prometheus, and his brother, Epimetheus, who were assigned the task of creating man. The story captivates the theme of monstrosity. Mary Shelley wrote the novel in a form so the reader’s opinions never stray far from sympathy for the monster and apathy for Victor
The novel Frankenstein is wonderful in various ways, from the provoking portrayal of human emotion throughout the story; to the elements of fantasy that stimulate the imagination. However, as one (anonymous) critic put it, “[T]he work seems to have been written… …on a very crude and ill-digested plan; and the detail is, in consequence, frequently filled with the most gross and obvious inconsistencies.” (The Literary Panorama). While the critic attempts to expose some inconsistencies in the story, the acerbity in his review of the novel is unfair based on the support he provides. The irony of this review is that although he tries to expose the plot’s inconsistencies, he uses a non-issue as backing, and yet misses the most glaring oversight in the novel.
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley tells the tale of the protagonist Victor Frankenstein and his creation. Both Frankenstein and Frankenstein’s creation’s questionable actions lead them both to be considered morally ambiguous figures. Victor is ambitious with good intentions, but his ambition leads to bad results. The Creature is an innately kind and compassionate person who commits abominable actions due to how others treat him. Their moral ambiguity is significant, as it reveals that an obsession with ambition distorts one’s morals.
Victor and the monster hate each other and eventually seek revenge on one another (60). In the beginning, Victor was passionate about his creation of life, he thought it was a brilliant idea (79). However, he was unable to “endure the aspect of the being [he] had created” (84) after the completion of the creature. The monster appeared to be friendly as “a grin wrinkled his cheeks” (84) and tried to communicate with Victor (84). However, Victor tried to avoid him and did not want to associate himself with the monster at all (84). The monster was furious and “[swore] eternal revenge” (154) when his creator rejected him because of his appearance. Therefore, when the monster knew that William was related to Victor, he became enraged and killed him (154). As the monster continued to kill Victor’s family, Victor pledged that he will get revenge on the creature (60). The exchanges between these two individuals were an indication of Victor’s vengeful
Throughout the entire book, it becomes obvious that family is important to both Victor and the Monster. Victor greatly values his family and
Victor Frankenstein’s monster killed many people and caused lots of irreversible disturbances, however the monster should not be murdered. Many people argue that because the monster killed, and caused many people to die that he himself should be destroyed. Many things happened that made the monster’s actions justified. Without the actions of Victor, the monster would not have murdered people and caused lots of chaos. Despite the fact that many people, including Victor, think that the beast should be destroyed, I believe that he should not because without Victor’s actions, the monster would not have killed people.
Victor thought “for this I had deprived myself of rest and health. I had desired it with an ardour that far exceeded moderation; but now that I had finished, the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart”(page). This quote demonstrates that once Victor had concluded his work of creating the monster, he realized that it may have been a huge mistake. He was not satisfied with his creation instead he was filled with terror. In result of his realization, he left the monster to fend for himself and suffer. Victor shows an evil side of himself by abandoning the monster and leaving him to be universally shunned by society. By Victor doing this one evil act, it causes the monster himself to go off and initiate evil acts of his own.
Yes, Victor made the right decision to destroy the creature he was creating for the monster because they may not find each other attractive. The creature may not want to go S. America. She could also fall in love with Victor and not the monster. Also, procreation could happen and the monster babied could take over the world. They not keep their promises to live in the forest and not killing
In many situations today, the children most common problem can be trace back to their family issue. Without a strong bond of relationship between their parents can consequently cause a destruction of children’s future. Even more, the children grow up unsteadily with aggressive behavior and the sign of depression. This has come to be a controversial issue and as well the depth of the story that is contain in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. To many misinterpretations from the movie, the creature itself was to accused to be a villain in the plot. As it show in Mary Shelly’s novel a deeper analysis has reveal that Victor Frankenstein is the real blame for
First off, Frankenstein is no way a hero, Victor could have treated the monster way differently than he did. He could have made the monster feel equal and have some relevance to matter. Instead Victor choose to treat it poorly, the monster did not asked to be created, he didn't choose it. It was not fair that victor treat the monster as poorly as he did. Dr. Frankenstein is a man
Frankenstein’s monster was a mistake in the first place. Victor created the monster in secret with the fear that someone would find out about his work. It was unethical for him to try to create life,
I have strangled the innocent as they slept, and grasped to death his throat who never injured me or any other living thing"(155). By eliminating Victor’s friends and family, the monster completes this plan of turning Victor’s life into one similar to his own. Depriving one of their family and friends, something which is done by both Victor and the monster, is a truly horrible deed which makes Victor’s creation a true "monster".
One of the threats of creating a mate for the monster lies in the female’s physical ability to procreate. Victor is afraid that the female and the monster will produce children, with or without his approval. Through her feminine body, the female could unleash "a race of devils … who might make the very existence of the species of man a condition precarious and full of terror" (Shelley 144). She is the crucial element in naturally bringing about such offspring, for without the female, the monster is rendered impotent, unable to cause any more harm than he alone can inflict. If the female chooses to accept the role as mother and mate, together she and the monster can produce a generation of offspring taught to despise mankind as deeply as their predecessors. Victor recognizes the power the female has over man solely through her ability to bear children, because through this ability the female can do just as Victor does -- create life, naturally
The monster believed that Victor would accept him, but after he realized that not only did Victor not want to assume his position in the monster’s life, but society also rejected him, it became a transitory thought, and instead became replaced with his bloodthirst towards Victor and his loved ones, which he knew would hurt way worse than just killing him; making him lonely like himself. Both Victor and the monster partook in horrid acts, in which held horrendous actions; the main one being Victor creating the monster in the first place which in result caused the both of them heartbreak, loneliness, and pain. If Victor wouldn’t have created the monster, then his life would not be filled with so much grief and emptiness; Victor is the true monster, although they are both the primal protagonists as much as they are the antagonists because of the display of the emotions they both portray as lamenting humans/monsters, and the power they give to nature in order to destroy one another. Victor used nature to his advantage, although it was wrong; Victor used nature to create and destroy the monster; he used the
Throughout the story the Frankenstein’s monster is referred to as a true monster because of the different acts that he has committed, yet throughout the story the reader is made aware of the compassion and morality that Victor’s” creature possesses, like a real human. Victor is the true monster in this horror novel, because he possesses many of the characteristics that would define what a monster is. Victor Frankenstein created his monster due to his eagerness for alchemy and his unnatural obsession with being like God. Victor does not take into account the consequences of his actions. Victor rejects his creation the moment he lays eyes on it, and this caused the monster to perform the acts that he did. The cruel rejection is what begins the a journey that will soon enough be end of Victor. After Victor decides to go back on creating his monster a mate, he then destroys the half made creature which anger Frankenstein’s monster and this cause him wreak revenge on his creator. The monster tells Victor that he will be at his wedding night and the killing spree beings, Victor loses his father, and his friend Henry Clerval because of what Victor had done. In my opinion I believe that should have stuck to creating his monster a mate and this would have made things easier for him and
