Interview process
Our interview began with the interviewing process, therefore the session with the client went a little over 20 minutes. We talked about changing her sleeping habits to be able to wake up earlier. I did the engaging process for a little over 5 minutes. I asked, how her day was going, what she did during the week and on the weekend. After that engaging process, I ask if there was anything that concerned her. This is where we started talking about the behavior change which like I mention above is the sleeping habits to be able to wake up earlier. After talking a little about what kind of sleeping habit are on her daily routine. I asked her a couple more questions regarding the sleeping habits she has now. As how much does this sleeping habit affecting her daily routine. During this process I asked her a few scaling questions to see how much change talk or not I am able to encounter for the upcoming process. The MI skills I used are a lot of open-ended questions, so the interviewee was able to reflect and talk more to continue

I had a 16:13 reflection to question ratio since this time I tried to focus more on reflections than question and our talking/reflections were longer. My total MIA was 6 because during this interview I used affirm, seeking collaboration and emphasizing autonomy. I still have trouble when starting my complex reflections in saying the word so. Its so hard to reflect efficiently while listening to the client. Especially when we went through the evoking process and summarizing her overall interview. I felt it was a little hard to do the evoking and planning since we didn’t practice as much or maybe I just felt more comfortable during the engaging and focusing process. I think I can also improve when using complex reflections because sometimes I feel like I’m summarizing, or my complex reflections are too
“The Seems The Glitch in Sleep” by John Hulme and Michael Wexler. I think the main message is if you don’t solve the problem quick enough, the problem will get bigger. I think this because the the glitch is getting worse, if Becker doesn’t do something, the glitch will get worse. In the story, Becker had a very bad nightmare. It was made by three giant bed bugs torturing him. The glitch was moving very fast. After that there was the ripple effect, it is when the world have strange and very bad things happen. Then Becker got tortured by the bed again but this time his assistant Simly, helped. Then the bed bugs, Becker, and Simly fell down to the floor below.
In order to be a successful student at USMAPS and beyond, a cadet candidate must employ a proper sleep schedule. While the mechanisms of sleep are only partially clear and primarily left to scientific speculation, everyone can agree that the vitality of sleep and circadian rhythms is indisputable. That said, while I go through the academic year, I have developed a plan to maintain my sleep habits and ensure that proper sleep will benefit me throughout my academic endeavors.
Robert Bly’s “Waking from Sleep” explores the thoughts and events that occur at night as the country recovers from the war that has just occurred. In the first stanza of the poem, the narrator is addressing the war, the reader can confirm this because he states “tiny explosions at the waterlines” (line2) and “wind of the salty blood” (line 3). The reader is immediately informed that a war has occurred because of the navies setting forth, tiny explosions and salty blood. In the second stanza, the narrator is describing the months after the war. The memories still remain of the tragic events that have occurred. In the third stanza things for the narrator start looking brighter. The country is now rising from bed and waking up. However, the memories of those who have passed away are remembered as their shouts are heard from the harbor. Throughout the fourth, and final stanza the country is healing. The country is singing, and dancing in the kitchen. The author portrays that those who are lost are never forgotten, and the country is reminded of their memories every morning at dawn when silence sweeps the nation.
Sometimes I think that sleeping isn’t important because I thought that sleep wouldn’t help your body. Well I was wrong to say that because it does help your body. The amount of sleep you get each day impacts over the course of your life. I was asked if sleep had a huge impact on your health. Well my answer is yes it does have a huge impact. Some people don’t have enough hours of sleep, some have too much, and some don’t know how much their suppose to sleep. Despite the fact that some people think that sleep isn’t important, I’m going to prove that sleep is important
The purpose of the assignment was to interview another person and record it, then later analyze how well you used interview techniques. The interview was to last fifteen minutes and discuss why your interviewee had decided to choose a career in the health field.
The parents will monitor the child’s sleep habit at home and report back to the doctors the results. The parents will be given the option to place the child on medication due to the recent injury. The sleep assessment conducted on the patient had an interesting dynamic in how we think we sleep opposed to how our partner says we sleep. The patient wakes up every morning at 6 a.m. and takes a nap right after lunchtime approximately at 1 p.m. The daily naps, according to the patient, last about forty-five minutes to an hour. When asked about restlessness when waking up the patient with a stern voice and pointed finger says, "When I'm up I'm up and ready to go." The patient also explained that they have no trouble staying asleep; however going to sleep can be challenging depending on if anything troubling is on her mind.
I have completed the sleep assessment and I am not surprise with the outcome it gave me. The results showed that my sleep habits could be better. Some days are better than others, but generally, I do wake up drowsy and hitting my alarm clock once or twice. I admit, I usually stay up on my phone past midnight like any other young adult. If it is not my phone that is keeping me up at night, it’s usually my mind reminding me of all the stress that may be going on in my life.
It has been documented and studied by numerous groups of people, that there is a relationship between race and the aptitude to sleep. It is unidentified as to why this is the case, but it has been proven to be accurate through many studies. Just through the amount of hours whites, African Americans, and Asians sleep per night, it is easily verifiable that there is a direct relationship between a certain race and how well a person sleeps. Race has an influence in sleep habits, which can be demonstrated through the study of the amount of sleep whites, African Americans and Asians achieve to sleep per night. Different races can sleep further restored than others, but the cause has not yet been proven. The New York Times published a document,”
This investigation examines is it possible for light pulses to alter the motor skills, and cardiac movements of biological life forms. Is it possible to change how biological lifeforms functions if we were to shine a light on them every hour at night? Knowing how most animals work, and from that of human experience I can say that light is what makes us stay awake; therefore if we have a light shined on us every hour would we lose sleep? These are the type of questions I will be answering throughout my extended essay. I will talk about how our sleep is affected by light, and monitor this so I can then record the data. I will also be discussing why we sleep. Which you may be wondering how this ties into light, however light does damage our skin
This paper examines five different sources of information that addresses information pertaining to wakeful resting or sleeping and the effects it has on memory garnered by experiments performed on humans and animals. Wakeful resting is defined as an individual that has not fallen asleep but has engaged in a period of rest that cuts them off from the distractions of the outside world. Sleep is the bodies natural cycle of rest that suspends the consciousness and allows both the body and the mind to take a break from any stressful activities and recover. By either taking a short wakeful rest or going to sleep after learning new material, memory consolidation in both humans and animals will be improved, and it is not limited to humans that
Finally, nurse should rehearse the whole set of question before conducting a real interview so that she could be more relaxed when dealing with client’s responses.
Dreams have a lengthy record of being a subject for debate and a source of motivation. In ancient Egypt, pharaohs had several interpreters to decipher their dreams as they believed they were messages from the gods (Lincoln, 1935, p.68). The ancient Hebrews believed that their dreams were tied to divine revelations as well. Native American tribes believed that dreams were a connection to their ancestors and used obtaining a vision from a dream as a rite of passage (Tedlock, 1981, p.324). In the present day, every night all across the world, people still experience sequences of imagery encompassed by sensations and emotions while asleep. The average person tends to dream up to seven times a night
The neonatal or special care nursery environment is one of variable but constant movement, light and noise. Such an environment is not conducive to the entrainment of good sleep habits. Discuss the impact this environment has on preterm infants in terms of their neuropsychological development and sleep patterns. Consider the longer term implications, and the measures that can be taken to minimise or overcome these.
