Animal Testing On Animals Is Necessary

There has been a lot of animal testing in the United States and thousands of animals already have been killed. In research and testing, animals are subjected to experiments that can include everything from testing new drugs, poisoning for toxicity testing, burning skin, causing brain damage, implanting electrodes into the brain, maiming, blinding, and other painful and invasive procedures. Animal testing should not be allowed to proceed because millions of animals are getting killed, the results aren't always right, and it is more expensive to test it on animals.

Approximately 26 million animals are used every year in the United States alone for research and commercial testing (“Background of the Issue” 1). For years, legislators have debated the pros and cons of animal testing, and laws were passed to attempt to fix the inhumane treatment of the cute, innocent testing subjects, the animals. Although the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) was revised numerous times, “the species most commonly used in experiments (mice, rats, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians) comprise 99% of all animals in laboratories” and are the animals that are specifically exempted from protection under the act (“Experiments on Animals” 2). A simple fix to animal cruelty during testing is to use alternative methods since human and animal bodies already vary greatly. For years, animal testing was the best option because there was no alternative to testing on a living, whole-body system; however, in the age of technology, there is no reason for millions of animals to be killed due to the severity of the testing. Therefore, animal testing should be banned because alternative methods provide more accurate results since human bodies are very different than animal bodies; furthermore, animal advocacy organizations should promote cruelty-free products more so customers know what to purchase and use.

Have you ever wanted to go into space? Well, many animals did during the beginning of the Space Race and it was very necessary. This was because we did not know if we could even survive in space. We also did not have the technology to figure it out digitally. Another reason why it was necessary was that we had many questions we wanted questions for on how our body would react in space. With these 3 reasons and evidence to go with them, I will show why sending animals into space was necessary.

Animal testing is unnecessary and should be banned because of how they treat the animals, Animal testing is pointless, and because of how they suffer and die.

For many years, the field of science has used animals in medical experiments worldwide, because of this innocent animals are being killed everyday. They are being tested with new drugs, new treatments, and by many makeup companies. Connecticut recently celebrated the passage of the “Beagle Freedom Law”, a law that requires laboratories to work with charities and rescue groups to find homes for research cats and dogs. Animals are being tested so humans do not have to be but animal tests do not reliably predict results in human beings, although animals are the closest thing to humans. Most experiments involving animals are flawed, wasting the lives of innocent animal subjects. Over 100 million animals suffer a year from testing. Testing animals is a lot more expensive than alternative methods and it is wasting government research dollars. Animal testing is not only a bad idea, but it is also inhuman and it should not be tolerated. The FDA should stop allowing animal testing. An animal does not give out the same results on a test than a human would.

Strapped down on a cold, metal table with long, coiled tubes injected in and around one's body, watching skin blister from the corrosive chemicals smeared on by humans with no thought of what is being done. The pain is so intense consciousness is nearly lost and at this point, and death seems like the best option. 100 million animals suffer these circumstances each year from drug, food and cosmetic testing in the United States. Animal testing is inhumane and unnecessary for so many reasons.

Animal testing is a very necessary process for human survival; This is the "survival of the fittest", animal testing helps us know what is safe and what's not. The human race requires accurate results in order to overcome viruses and other fatal extremities. We need animals as a recource for survival. A lion will not refuse to harm a zebra because if he does that lion will die.

For decades now animal testing has been a known method in society. The downside of the reality is society is not fully aware of what is going on behind closed doors, and the severity of what animal testing truly is. Although there have been many points where animal testing has proven to help in certain studies, it is also proven to be unnecessary. Biomedical industries are looking for the next cure or the safest makeup for example, but the process of it all is wrong. There are millions of animals yearly being put through suffering and cruel conditions with no break or recovery time. There is no way to actually see results in such a vigorous treatment. Animal experimentation is validated simple by the benefits it has created in both our medical fields and the veterinary field. The advancements over the past century are astonishing. Backed by the weight of scientific literature the case that animal experiments can produce scientifically valid results is clear, strong and sustainable. Protesters opinions on these matters often overlook any of the positives about testing, for instance, cosmetic testing is illegal in the UK, the Netherlands and Belguim. Furthermore, primates only make up 0.001% of animals tested on, and cats and dogs are only 0.5%. Also, laboratories are checked on at least 12 times randomly throughout the year to make sure that the high standards of animal care are being kept (Nuffield Council 39). Animal researchers

Right now, millions of mice, rats, rabbits, cats, dogs, and other animals are locked up in cages and are getting killed for scientific tests to create products and medicines. Thus, animal testing is cruel and inhumane to be experimenting on animals, there are alternative methods available to researchers to replace animal testing, and that animals are so different from human beings that research on animals often yields irrelevant results.

Animal testing has been around for hundreds of years, scientists back then would perform experiments on living animals to get a better understanding of anatomy and physiology. I believe animal testing has been a massively important thing to science and should be continued. Animal testing has gave us many cures and animals bodies functions and organs are similar to ours which give us efficiency.

 While animal testing is all worldwide, many believe that animal testing should be banned, because it is harmful and cruel to animals. The everyday products we use are tested on animals to see if they are harmful to humans. Throughout an experiment "Chemicals are rubbed on shaved skin or dripped into eyes without pain relief" According to the Human Society Factsheet. While many believe that animal testing shall stay legal because of the advantage that animal testing gives to humans, others believe that animal testing should be banned and illegal because of the damage it has done to the innocent pets.

For thousand of years companies test their products on animals and experiment on them causing horrible effects. These animals are innocent and do not deserve to be treated like this. Those experiments cause the animals to develop deformities and diseases. However if you help out and do your part you can help prevent animal testing. There are many alternatives to animal testing that most people do not know about. Animal testing is a big issue and should be stopped.

Imagine sacrificing your own pet so it could be used for space exploration. In the Space Race, the USA and the Russians would send animals to space to make sure it was safe enough for humans. The animals were used to help improve technology and to help get the first man on the moon. Without testing animals, we wouldn't have been able to know the effects it has on the human body or if humans would be able to survive in space.
