Did you know that more than 100 million animals are abused and killed every year in labs all around the world? Animals are used every day to test products and treatments for humans. For years humans have been using animals for testing. These animals are hurt in many different ways, including inhalation of toxic fumes, force-feeding pesticides, and dripping corrosive chemicals into sensitive eyes. Animal testing should be made illegal because animal testing is cruel, there are better ways to test products, and animals’ bodies differ from ours.
The first reason why animal testing should be made illegal is that it is cruel. According to the PETA, “... animals are locked inside barren cages in laboratories across the country.” This shows that animals are forced into dull, empty cages and left in there to wallow in their misery. Animals need to be out in the wild or being cared for. Locking them up is abominable! The PETA also states that “The complete lack of environmental enrichment and the stress of their living situation cause some animals to develop neurotic behavior such

While this is true, there are alternative ways to develop treatments and animal testing doesn’t always work due to diversity of body types and immunity in humans. Social Research states that “In the highly polarized debate that characterizes the modern animal research controversy, it is usually assumed that scientists support animal research and animal activists criticize it, with the general public occupying some sort of contested middle ground. However, scientists are also demonstrably ambivalent about what is done to animals in experimental laboratories.” This tells us that even the people that are conducting the experiments oppose animal testing and want it to be stopped. They understand that there are more humane ways to solve problems and test products. Animal testing CAN be stopped, and WILL be with your
One reason animal testing should be banned is that animals in the testing environment feel scared and afraid. Also in those labs after animals have suffered through the process of being tested on they are then dumped back into a cage without any painkillers to ease the extreme pain that they are facing. Have you ever broken a bone or burned yourself on something and it has hurt extremely? Imagine that going through your entire body and the people that have done that to you don’t even give you something to help ease it. Well, this happens on a daily basis to those animals and in all honesty,it probably goes on for the rest of their life.
There has been a lot of animal testing in the United States and thousands of animals already have been killed. In research and testing, animals are subjected to experiments that can include everything from testing new drugs, poisoning for toxicity testing, burning skin, causing brain damage, implanting electrodes into the brain, maiming, blinding, and other painful and invasive procedures. Animal testing should not be allowed to proceed because millions of animals are getting killed, the results aren't always right, and it is more expensive to test it on animals.
For many years, the field of science has used animals in medical experiments worldwide, because of this innocent animals are being killed everyday. They are being tested with new drugs, new treatments, and by many makeup companies. Connecticut recently celebrated the passage of the “Beagle Freedom Law”, a law that requires laboratories to work with charities and rescue groups to find homes for research cats and dogs. Animals are being tested so humans do not have to be but animal tests do not reliably predict results in human beings, although animals are the closest thing to humans. Most experiments involving animals are flawed, wasting the lives of innocent animal subjects. Over 100 million animals suffer a year from testing. Testing animals is a lot more expensive than alternative methods and it is wasting government research dollars. Animal testing is not only a bad idea, but it is also inhuman and it should not be tolerated. The FDA should stop allowing animal testing. An animal does not give out the same results on a test than a human would.
The very first reason why animal testing should be banned is elementary: it is cruel and unnecessary. Approximately 17-22 million animals are used for testing each year in the United States. Substances are injected into the animal, chemicals are force-fed, irritants are rubbed into the eyes and
One more reason to think about outlawing animal testing is that it kills and hurts the animal used. The Humane Society International said that animal used in experiments are commonly forced to eat and inhale and are purposely burned and cut to study the healing process. Just in US labs over a 100 millions animals are burned, poisoned ,and abused. Recently, an owl monkey suffered a terrible death when it was left in a cage that went through a scalding-hot washer in a Texas
Animal testing is cruel, unnecessary, and preventable. According to the article Argument against animal testing “The support for animal testing is based largely on anecdote and is not backed up, we believe, by the scientific evidence that is out there.” What is being said about animal testing is just based on a story and it is not being backed up with actual proof that we need. People believe whatever scientists are saying, but, how do we know what they are saying is true? Many people say animals do not get hurt during testing because they think that animals are protected under the Animal Welfare Act. But in reality is The Animal Welfare Act is not doing anything beneficial toward animals. Noah Berlatsky noted that “The Animal Welfare Act allows animals to be burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved, forcibly restrained, addicted to drugs, and brain-damaged.” This is not protection. We need effective laws against
When using cosmetics or common house cleaning products many do not realize that they are supporting animal cruelty. Animal testing is among the most disturbing experiments being done today. Vivisection is the practice of animal experimentation. It can include administering drugs, infecting animals with diseases, poisoning for toxicity testing, brain damaging, maiming, blinding, and other painful invasive procedures. Animal testing has protocols that cause severe suffering such as long-term social isolation, full-body restraint, electric shocks, withholding of food and water, or repeated breeding and separating infants from mothers. It is using millions of animals in ways that cause distress or death to test the safety of drugs and
Animal testing is inhumane. There have millions of innocent animals that have suffered a vicious, painful death due to animal testing. In research labs, animals are screamed at, beaten, and stuffed into small cages when researchers are done using them. Dissection at schools is also wrong. They cut open defenseless animals, just to see how there insides work. Animals and humans aren't even exactly alike. “92% out of every 100 drugs that passed animal testing failed clinical trials on people,” . Every year in the United
“Every year, more than 100 million animals are killed in U.S. laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetic testing”Animal testing has been an issue in our society for quite a while, and needs to be stopped for multiple reasons. Here are just a few of those reasons: It is cruel, wasteful, unreliable, and there are even multiple humane alternatives to testing.
Millions of animals in our generation today are being tested for human products. Experimentation causes many animals to fall vile with disease and having no choice but to be experimented on. Animal experimentation should be banned all over the United States. Not only is it cruel and inhuman method of research, but challengers view it as an essential evil to test on animals.
Animal testing is wrong in many ways, and cost more than we should spend on for a form of animal abuse. Animal abuse should be banned in every country, because it is wrong in many ways. I’m going to talk about how much animal experimentation is necessary, how much animal population is affected, what is being used on the animal.
There are many reasons why animals should not be used for experimentation. In the article, “Animal testing is outdated, imperfect”, Ryan Ballinger states, “ One thing i found is that alternatives exist, such as human cells or artificial skin” . This explains how we have the ability to test on different resources and alternatives . This reinforces that there are different ways to find medicine and cures for humans instead of making innocent animals
Animal experimentation has been a topic of debate for many years, About 1.4 million animals die each year from animal testing. The harsh ways animals are treated during testing, is the cause of their death. People have different feelings for animals, many look at animals as pets and others can view animals for experimental research. The fact is that animals are being exploited by research facilities and cosmetics companies all around the world. Even though humans can benefit from successful animal research, the pain, the suffering, and the deaths of animals are not worth the possible human benefits. Animal testing should be illegal because in this process animals are being tortured and killed, alternative testing methods have been made, and
First of all, testing on animals must be outlawed in order to protect the rights of animals. Their rights are infringed by endless experimenting. We may not believe this but animals and humans are alike in more than one way.
All types of animal testing should be banned by law. Treading away from the usual argument of animal cruelty, there are other equally notable reasons why a cat’s skull need not be smashed. The cost of animal testing per year is staggering, especially at a time where other sectors of our economy need more funding. There are other options that have proven to be more accurate and less expensive than traditional animal testing. Due to the biological differences in humans and animals used for testing, various results have had disastrous effects on humans when they did not for animals. Animals should not be used in experimental testing due to the extreme cost, other methods available, and flaws in experiment accuracy.
