Anne Frank once said in her diary that her dream was to become a published author and to live beyond her death. Even when living in a cramped space with little to eat and not much to do for two years she kept her dream alive by studying new languages, reading books about history and keeping her diary. She remained positive even in these tough conditions by saying that she was going to write multiple books when the war was over and become a bestselling author. Now, over 70 years after her death Anne’s diary is being read in classrooms all over the world and she is one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The diary has touched many people and given the whole world an idea of what it was like to be a Jew during the war. Therefore, …show more content…
Especially how detailed her diary was, it gave readers a vivid description of what it would be like to live in that time period. As for Anne, I don’t know if being remembered after your death is worth dying such a miserable death. I feel like dying from natural causes would have been better for Anne than being tortured and starved to death.
If Anne had survived the war and found her diary I don't think it would have been published. I do think that Anne would go on to write books about the war but I feel like she would keep her diary to herself. I also think if she would have survived the war her books would not be as popular. In my opinion, part of the reason why her diary has become so popular is because Anne was one of the victims who died in the war.
After Otto Frank read his daughters diary I’m sure it shocked him to know how his daughter really felt. Her words probably caused him pain and grief for not knowing everything about his daughter. Especially the way she described how she felt about her mother and Peter. He probably felt like he failed as a parent because he wasn’t there more for her and didn’t know of everything going
I also believe that Anne’s experiences make this dream worthwhile, and I think that if she would have survived the war her “book” wouldn’t have been so famous and world known. Also I think that her story wouldn’t have meant to much to people if the war didn’t affect her life. She had a lot of big dreams and we only got to see some of her life experiences.
In the “diary of Anne Frank”, by Goodrich and Hackett Anne wanted to survive the holocaust and tell the story about everything she had been throw. she said once in the book that she would want to publish the diary for the people to read about her life. It shows how she wanted for many people to read about her and the holocaust. In conclusion, anne wanted to publish the book herself and survive the holocaust but she couldn’t.
As I have researched Anne frank’s life there were more disturbing aspects than uplifting ones. I feel like the best part of her terrible story is that for those two years in hiding she was with her family.
In conclusion, Anne's diary that she wrote in her very short life will forever continue to impact lives. Anne survived life in hiding by writing different types of literature. Anne probably didn’t know when she was writing her diary that it would be the second most read book after the Bible. The things that Anne wrote to keep busy did more than pass the time of readers, but has changed reader’s perspective of life during the Holocaust. Anne Frank will forever be remembered because of her
Some critics find that when you really look at the Diary, you are moved simply because Anne died tragically, and not because it is well-written. However, Anne had a gift for writing that is hard to ignore. If you were to pretend that Anne never got caught, thus survived, and lived out her life in Germany, one would still be overwhelmed by her style.
The Diary of Anne Frank, is the actual diary of a Jewish girl in world war two. Anne’s story has touched hearts and changed lives, telling the tale of war from the perspective of a innocent child at the first stages of her teens. Not all, but many have read this book as an assignment of some sort, only to come out with information that makes the heart truly heavy. The Diary of Anne Frank illustrates the effects of war in a brutally honest way, especially to the minds of developing humans such as teens.
Anne led a happy and normal childhood, and on her 13th birthday she received a diary from her parents. It became special to her as years went by. It is through this diary that much about World War II and Anne’s life has been learned.
Anne loved to read and write, and was completely fascinated with literature. For her 13th birthday she received a diary that she referred to as kitty (Feldman). She refused to write in German because all of the horrible things happening in Germany at that time (“Anne Frank”. Bio.com). One of her first entries was “ I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confine in anyone, and I hope you will a great source of comfort and support” (Feldman). Throughout the times Anne wrote in her diary she knew Germany was changing because she wrote “After May 1940, the good times were few and far between; first there was the war, then then the capitulation and then the arrival of the Germans, which is when the trouble started for the Jews” (“Anne Frank”. Bio.com). Otto Frank knew things were started go wrong when he heard Nazi solider going by singing “When Jewish blood splatters from the knife” (“Anne Frank”. Bio.com).
The story of Anne Frank Remembered, starts out like most normal middle income families would be, as one would expect. After their life becomes endangered by the Nazi movement, her father decides to take the family into hiding. I suppose he thought that he would only have to do this for a short while at first, but after the years start to pile up, one can see how the long time in hiding takes its toll on Anne. Anne starts to go inside herself and make up stories, along with characters’ and write in her diary. After she hears about the possibility of her diary being read after the war, she gets even more interested in writing, because she thinks that she will have a huge reading audience someday after the war. It is from then on she writes more
The book is filled with references to the deprivation which jews had to deal with at the time and shows how the war bought on a discriminating attitude toward Jewish people, which forced her family to suffer unbelievable hardships; they starved, they suffered illnesses, and went through a lot of psychological strain. Particularly because Anne was my own age when she began her diary, I felt that I could compare my own life to to hers at the time, which gave me a deeper understanding of how the Jewish holocaust had affected the jews. Although she didn’t blatantly say it, I felt that Anne also understood the way that her suffering influenced others. This is shown when she said “If we bear all this suffering and if there are still Jews left, when it is over, then Jews, instead of being doomed, will be held up as an example.” This diary humanizes and brings back to life the Jewish people who were unfairly taken from their homes and gives faces to the millions of jews who were victims of the second world war, which I think is what makes it such an important historical
In later entries, Anne expresses that she was wrong in being so angry towards her mother and Mrs. Vann Dan, and also decided to face life with new hope and focus on nature and the good that surrounded her. She also makes friends with Peter Vann Dan, which she originally thought was lazy and not much at all, showing her kind and more thoughtful side. Anne Frank expresses her affection for Peter, spending most of her time in the attic with him, talking to him and listening as well. All of these show both her good and bad sides, and how she would express the feelings that she had at any time through her actions and her writing. Even though Anne tried to change her perspective on the way she was treated and truly tried to change herself for the better, she still sometimes ran out of patience and complained about the petty things that were happening in her life. Throughout the book, there are still days when she is easily antagonized and rather miserable in general, but Anne becomes more aware of her feelings and actions and usually was able to display extreme courage by maintaining a hopeful perspective in the face of extreme danger. It is in her very last entry in her diary that she truly understands the broken, double-faced mask she had worn for so long, and reveals the whole of her character and internal struggles. She realizes that she has a “lighter, superficial side” that is cheerful but shallow, blithely passing through life and not being affected by any harsh words. Inside, her real personality remains hidden, an Anne that is thoughtful, compassionate, and pure, but cannot be expressed, even to those who truly cared. Through this, it is seen that perhaps “good vs evil” is not the true internal struggle of Anne Frank, but rather “indifference vs
Honestly, I think we take for granted the freedom we have sometimes, when those people would have given anything to just be free from under the Germans control and have their normal life back. She uses descriptive language to provide actual evidence of what she went through during the holocaust and when her family went into hiding, it’s almost as if when you’re reading her diary you are putting yourself in her position. Anne Frank’s diary basically gave you an insight of like what she ate, what she saw, how she felt, but mostly of what it was like to be a Jew during that time. When Anne first received her journal, it was just a plain ole journal and she really didn’t have any intentions of it being published but later on she writes with the idea that her experiences might be read by others. This reminds of when you’re watching a suspense or horror movie and they usually record their observations and just in case something happens to them and others will find their recordings or
There’s no way to know for sure, but I think that it still would’ve been published and read by many. Her diary definitely would’ve been longer, because she would have written down more of her experiences, especially when the war ended. However, maybe the diary would get damaged, or lost. This would most likely erase it from existence, and we might not have ever known her famous story. If she was still alive after the war, she would have some kind of say in what happened to her diary. I think she still would want it published, and would probably do it herself. She wanted people to know her story from the
Anne’s dream of living beyond her death has happened. This is true because of her diary. Her diary has become so well known that she is practically a superstar. She is a very well known person of history. Anne’s journal is a very important book of World War ll and gives lots of important details about that time in history.Anne Frank lived through most of World War ll and kept a journal to tell about her everyday life. She was in hiding along with her family, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel. Anne had gotten the diary for her thirteenth birthday, before they went into hiding, and named it Kitty. She kept the journal to write about her everyday life, hiding from the German police.
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, was a simple gift Anne had received for her thirteenth birthday from her loving father. It had blank pages that Anne had written symbols upon to create a nonfiction story of the most depressing times of her life, when her family was forced into hiding from the Nazi party. She struggled with emotions, her body, and family. Over two years of her teenage life where documented with even other unpublished works (secret codes, hateful comments, and inappropriate statements). Her last entry had been written a few days before her hiding spot was raided by
