Being only five feet nine inches hasn’t stopped Frenchman, Antoine Griezmann, from being one of the best football (soccer) players in the world. The person that will be discussed in this essay is Antoine Griezmann. Born in Macon, France, Antoine Griezmann is a world-renowned football player on Atletico Madrid and the French National Team, who are both widely known for their skill and competitiveness. Being rejected from many football clubs and perseverance is what shaped Griezmann into the person he is today. To Griezmann “touch and technique are prevailing mantras” (Everything). This essay will explain why Antoine Griezmann likes to use the Spanish style of play even though he is French.
Antoine Griezmann has scored one hundred twenty-one goals in his overall career as a football player (Antoine). Being five feet nine and being “light weighted” prevented him from being on teams like “Lyon” because they were looking for “strong and tall players” (Story). Basing his game on “David Silva and David Beckham,” he focuses on “lightness of touch that is both elegant and nifty” (Everything). He has mixed “Spanish and French skills,” but is in favor of a Spanish style more because he went to a “Spanish football academy” as a teenager (Everything). He inspires many people around the world to mix up

He was rejected from many football teams, but still had the perseverance to get better. The question I had wanted to know was answered, but it changed many times when I found more information on how he played with Spanish and French skills rather than just one certain type of play. I really want to know more about what Griezmann is like as a person. From what I read he seems like a decent and good person, but I want to know more about his personality. I will continue to watch him play and prosper as a striker and a person. He is really dedicated to the game and that is what I am inspired to
Thesis: Soccer is a sport like no other, and it has a very unique culture with in the game itself.
Lush, green grass began to massage my bare feet. Sunshine beamed off the clean, white goal posts. With my cleats in my hands, ball in my bag, and my freshly washed shirt, only one thing came to mind: soccer. The sport I love and have devoted the past three years was evolving. Many of my friends were shifting from recreational to club soccer. After three years of recreational soccer, I decided to take my game to the next level and tryout for club soccer. Eager to showcase my skills, I stood on the field bearing confidence. Before tryouts began, my thoughts solely consisted of playing club soccer with my friends. I thought little about tryout preparation, because I didn’t know what to expect. No one gave me information about how to perform well

The culture of soccer is more than just articles written in sport pages, or rumors about players been transferred from one club to another. It includes a bigger picture that covers many different social, political and economic aspects of the game. In countries where the sport is not that relevant, people refer to it as soccer. In others where the sport is very popular and has been around for a long time, it is referred to as football. When it comes to the sport, there are two very different ideas relevant to how people view it. In said countries where soccer is the national sport, the game is viewed as if it can achieve anything; from having just fun with your friends to helping unite people from around the world. In other countries where the sport is not as much popular, the game is seen as boring and is looked down on. This paper will explore how soccer is growing at such a rapid pace despite the fact that it can be viewed as violent and boring.
Everyone has that certain thing that makes them who they are. That certain thing for me is soccer. It’s my hobby, my biggest interest, and my passion. Soccer isn’t just a sport for me, it’s my life. It has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have played the intriguing game of soccer since I was four years old, and I have loved it ever since.

Cristiano Ronaldo scores far more goals with his head, not afraid to go in where it hurts. He manages to apply great power to his headers and undoubtly is always going to be more effective in the air than Messi. This is due to the fact that Ronaldo stands at 6'1" while Lionel Messi stands at 5'6 ½". Messi scored the memorable second goal against Manchester United, one of England's best teams, in the 2009 Champions league final with his head. But that was the exception to the rule. Most of "La Pulga Atomica’s" (The Atomic Flea) goals come from his left foot. Lionel Messi has become a lethal intruder in the goalkeeper's area. If someone were to tell you that they've seen him gently push in 40 goals with one-touch kicks inside the goalkeeper's area the past two years, they wouldn't be exaggerating. When the play needs collected finishing, Lionel is right there to lightly push it home every time.
Ricardo Kaka, renowned AC Milan/Real Madrid player and native Brazilian, he is one of the most openly religious players in soccer and has contributed much of his personal funds to founding churches and supporting charities. Furthermore, Ricardo Kaka demonstrates a level of humility not often seen in the sporting world especially at the level he has competed at and the awards that he has received. After receiving the Ballon D’Or, the highest individual award in soccer, in 2007 (the last player to do so since the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo winning streak) he attributed the skills
I never though winning a championship would be so satisfying. When my high school, Michel-Gratton applied for WECSSAA (Windsor Essex County Secondary Schools Athletic Association), it was an ecstatic moment for my teammates and I. The funny thing is that year was also the first year Michel-Gratton was built, in 2011. As a result, we had no basketball uniforms, instead our coach, Taylor, had us go to Walmart and buy the same blue t-shirt, afterwards write M.G on it. We ended the first season with a score of zero wins and ten losses, basically in last place. Schools from the standings were mocking us, trying to damage the team, yet Taylor always reminded us that as long as we stay a family and
Why Pele Matters “I ‘caught’ the ball with my chest, and then, without letting it touch the ground, I looped it over the outstretched foot of a Welsh defender- ‘cheekily,’ one announcer said. The ball bounced once, and I nimbly stepped around the defender and rifled it home into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal. Brazil 1, Wales 0. I screamed- a long, guttural roar” (Pele 104).
Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the greatest soccer players to ever step foot on a pitch. Throughout his career, he has managed to set records and win virtually every individual and team award possible with the exception of the World Cup. Ronaldo has won the FIFA Player of the Year Award (Ballon D’or) 3 times and is very likely to be on his way to a 4th come this January. What separates Cristiano from the rest of the world is his drive. He has always believed that he is the best and is never satisfied with what he has already accomplished. The main reason however, that I chose to write about Cristiano Ronaldo is because we have something in common. He was diagnosed with a heart problem at the age of 15 which threatened his
Lionel Messi is arguably the greatest soccer player to ever live. His amazing goal-scoring ability has put him on heights players can only dream of. The way he dribbles past his opponents with ease brings fear to his upcoming defenders. Since his spell at FC Barcelona and the Argentinian national team, he has broken and set many world records countless of times, many of which being his own. The little Argentinian is nothing like our world has ever seen and is already considered to be a legend, despite his career not even near it’s end. Millions of fans across the globe idolise him for his extraordinary skill and dream to follow in his footsteps. He plays every game as if it were his last, and brings every spectator to their feet. With
A passionate desire to play on the field and an undying love for football, Cristiano's interest in the great sport of football started when he was just three years old. When Cristiano was around ten or so, word of his spectacular skills on the field was
Names like Pele, Maradona or Messi are names that are known even by people that do not follow soccer so close or that do not even know what soccer is, but because of the transmission of soccer worldwide they are known. There are different attributes that made up a good player. People thing that is all about talent, skills and maneuvers, but there is more in a player than those values.
