: APPLICATION OF THE CONCEPTS/THEORIES IN MY CURRENT JOB
In my job as 3PL (Third party logistics service provider) shipping (transportation across boarders) is one of the integrated services that we offer to our clients. To carry out this activity, we are constantly faced with the dilema of choosing the transportation mode that will reconcile effectiveness and efficiency. While keeping in mind the expectations of our clients, we must not forget our profit margins – which are the bases of our business sustainability. Besides deciding what mode of transportation to use, we are equally responsible for choosing between one carrier and the other. The choice of carrier is determined by a series of factors such reliability, availability of equipment, regularity, price/rates etc
Many at-times the most suitable thing we do is to put up a combination of several modes of transportation for the same trip. Usually we opt for the land transport mode (combining road and rail where possible) at the levels of pre-carriage and on-carriage, while choosing between maritime and air modes for the carriage (principal cross boarder journey). The choice between sea and air modes for the principal journey is done taking into consideration a number of factors such as nature and volume/weight of shipment, transit time, availability of infrastructures, geographical location etc. What ever change of mode is operated, it is important to note that goods remain in the same loading unit.
In my job as MTO
As the world’s largest package delivery company and a leading global provider of specialized transportation and logistics services, UPS, continues to develop the frontiers of logistics, supply chain management and e-commerce combing the flow of goods, information and funds. This past October UPS Logistics Solutions was voted #1 logistics provider by Logistics Solutions. When conducting an industry analysis, it is important to explain the competitive forces model (CFM) of UPS. The first component of competitive forces model are the customers. Their customers consist of business organizations, and the general public. The second CFM component is competition. UPS have a lot of competition in its field, but the most competitive company is FedEx. Since FedEx provides the same services as UPS; both are neck to neck in competition, but UPS has an established history, and because of that, they have more loyal customers, and they are worldly known. They have established them-selves as the elite, with their commercial on television. Showing how they can deliver from one place to another with same day delivery and
The intent of this analysis is to compare and contrast the cost structures for rail, motor carriers and air modes of transportation. Implicit in this analysis is the rapid adoption of intermodal transportation which is often optimized to specific logistics and supply chain objectives (Jennings, Holcomb, 1996).

My theoretical application is the cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This is my personal theoretical approach, but also I see that this approach it fits with the diagnosis according to the DSM IV. CBT is used to improve the problem solving skills, communication skills, and stress management skills. It also helps the client's emotional state and support systems to enhance adaptation and coping. Also Stress management is particularly beneficial in cases of high stress and helps the client to learn how to manage stress. Since the symptoms are a direct reaction to a specific stressor, so we will have a clear treatment plan by targeting the stressors, copying mechanisms, adaptation, and increase the personal insight.
Agrifarm Company is in the business of buying and selling grain. The company wants to increase profitability by ensuring that shipping costs are kept low. All is shipments come from 3 rail cars origins. In addition, all shipments must be routed through either of two grain processing centers before sending them to the final customer. The object is to minimize the total shipping cost, therefore selecting the proper shipping route for each carload.
Expedient delivery of goods outweighed the cost differential. However, since intermodel transportation pricing is governed by fixed costs, such as terminal expenses, not fuel costs, shipping costs will remain higher in this area. Now, lower fuel costs will further help to increase the use of trucks, rather than rail for transportation. This type of shift has not been seen in the industry since 2010, but it appears the trend will continue for the foreseeable future.
When considering the antecedents of death anxiety, the research determined that it is initiated by an increased awareness of mortality. In addition, it was determined that the following three characteristics overlapped when considering death anxiety: diagnosis of a life-threatening illness or experiencing a life-threatening event, stressful environments or unpredictable circumstances, and experiences with death.
From the perspective of theorists covered in the course, critically evaluate the role educators can play in counteracting dominant power through their practices.
Practicing medicine in the rural areas may be challenging. Little is known if the primary care providers in the rural areas are willing to address mental health issues on a regular basis. Addressing mental health can be as simple as completing a simple mental health assessment during the primary care visit to setting up an area in the office to offer telepsychiatry, e-mental health services or adding a psychiatric provider to practice for hallway consults to make this available. Opportunities can be created to assist individuals to address their mental health care on a regular bases to prevent missing follow up appointments and allow the specialist to address health care needs.
There are many different factors that play a major part in transportation for any company. The price of fuel is a major factor that determines some of the decisions that companies utilize. The weight of the freight in which they are carrying and how frequently they will be doing so. All these different things affect the price. This is single handily the biggest aspect that affect companies, and the primary way they make decisions. Wal-Mart right now is the best and they
Marketing Essentials Chapter 22, Section 22.1 Types of Transportation Systems Intermodal transportation combines two or more transportation modes to maximize the advantages of each. Piggyback service is carrying loaded truck trailers over land on railroad flat cars. Trucks will then take the trailers to their destinations. Fishyback service carries truck trailers on ships.
Incorporating Theory: Jones’ manuscript (1986), along with the publication of Measured and Drawn (Andrews, et al., 2009) has been used as anchors to link together the differing ranges of experiences, support arguments and analyze anecdotes. This answers as to what defines measured drawings and to what purpose they are done on a broader plane. The empirical data, for example, the definitions, provides an adhesive framework to explain and interpret Sri Lankan and European events. Other authoritative sources in Sri Lanka is used to get an idea, instead of fathoming its narratives.
These assumptions of the theory of human caring and the caritas processes apply at the level of self, other and also in a societal and leadership sense. The theory and processes are specific enough to be interventions that apply in nurse patient or interpersonal relationships but have a breadth and universality that can also be applied as leadership principles.
Initially, there is the mode of land transportation. Roads, rails and pipelines fall under this category. These land logistics are very important because they extend the delivery services for air and water transport from airports and seaports. The main transport mode of land logistics are railway, road freight and pipeline transport. The advantage of railway transport is that it has carrying capacity and lower influences by weather conditions
