There are zoos all over America. Some of these zoos are being targeted for holding the animals captive and many believe that zoos are a waste of resources. But zoos are actually very important for society. Zoos are important because they are educational, they treat the animals very humanly, and they have saved many species from going extinct. Zoos are educational because they teach our children about wild animals all over the world. Almost every zoo has some sort of show they put on with the animals. This is good because it shows people the animals capabilities. Dolphins for example, they can do many tricks like jumping high out of the water or waving at the audience. This teaches children what these animals are actually capable of. With
The exhibits are also very fascinating, and after going to the zoo you can catch a glimpse of a certain animal's way of life. Without zoos we wouldn't have the unbelievable experience of seeing Earth's most beautiful life forms. Zoos keep endangered species safe, and out of harms way. We need to start caring about the life forms on this planet. Showing each animal compassion, and love. My knowledge on zoos has been stretched after my reading analysis today. Based off of the articles, "The Stripes Will Survive", "The Zoos Go Wild", and "Our Beautiful Macaws and Why They Need Enrichment", we can truly get in-depth analysis about the role zoo's
while visiting the zoo a few years ago, i realized how unfair zoos are to the animals. The animals are incased and treated badly by the zoo keepers. In the zoo, I've seen animals being thrown around like they're nothing. why would we want those situations to keep happening to our animals? I believe that zoos should be closed due to unfair treatment.
Do zoos fulfill the needs of the animals? Should animals be kept in only one enclosure for their whole life? Is it worth all the time and money for the animals to be unhappy? Many people think zoos are doing a good job of keeping animals happy in the man made zoos. Because people think that, they support the zoos by giving them money to see these animals instead of going to animal preservations where the enclosures aren’t entirely man made. Animals that can function and survive in the wild should not be kept in zoos because the enclosures do not meet the needs of the animals living in them, zoos restrict animals from their innate behavior and their natural instincts, and zoos are expensive and damage animals homes.
First, zoos provide education to society. The role of zoos nowadays places a greater emphasis on education and conservation than merely recreation. Many school children visit zoos to know more about endangered species and the different ways to conserve them. The signposts
Zoos have been around for thousands of years holding thousands of different species for humans to marvel at. The first recorded instance of animals in captivity was in fifteen hundred B.C. in egypt where animals from all over Africa were kept. Zoos have been used as ways for people to view animals they would most likely never have a chance to see in the wild. This is why zoos have been so popular because everyday people have the opportunity to see animals that they would have never seen before. Unfortunately animals living in zoos have no chance of living in their natural habitat. They will spend their entire lives living in a enclosement being marveled at by humans. Animals should not be kept in captivity because no living creature should
The zoos help people understand how animals live their everyday life, and all the problems facing wildlife. They also help prevent extinction and endangered species, the keepers breed the full breed animals to increase the population. Another reason to have zoos is to provide care, and study animals that are sick and need care for. Many zoos try to find cures or medicines to prevent the types of disease animals get in the zoo. The main purpose of zoos is their ability to educate visitors and impact a connection to wild
Zoos are a dynamic educational source that enhances our community. Zoos raise awareness about jeopardized species and the significance of preservation. Zoos may help us to comprehend animals. They offer a good tool for our societies by lodging and dealing with creatures that may have been in peril at one point in their life. “100,000 kids come to London Zoo every year to learn about creatures.”[3] Usually when people come to zoos and they are taught about the conservation of some of the endangered species, a lot of these people get motivated and inspired to do something about it either by donating money or volunteering to help and so on.
Zoos give children the ability to both learn and see the interaction between the animals and the zookeepers. Zoos across the world are open to teach people the importance of animal conservation by witnessing how the animals react. Zoos can make a huge impact on children as well as adults by providing them with beneficial information about the animals in the zoos across the world. Even though incidents happen inside zoos it doesn't give people the ability to contradict that zoos are determined to close down. When I was a kid, I used to love to go to the zoo because animals were always my favorite and I was anxious to learn more about them. When going to New Orleans I would always make my mom take me to the Audubon zoo, because I always enjoyed going and watching the interactions with the pets and the zookeepers. The last time I went to New Orleans back in November i still made my mom take me because zoos are relaxing and
About 150 million people visit the zoo every year. One time when I went to the Omaha zoo with my family. My favorite part was when my family and I went to the aquarium. And there were squids in tanks and the best part of that was there was a little hallway and if you would look up there were sharks, puffer fish, more squids and even, stingrays. Some people believe that zoos are bad for animals. I disagree because zoos save endangered animals, protects wildlife, has medical care for injured animals and has enough food and water for all the animals. In my opinion animals can live a healthy physical and emotional life in a zoo.
Zoos are very important, in them, we learn about the animals that live with us on the same planet, zoos are important for entertaining
The author described, "With several programs supported toward both children and adults, zoos educate people about the importance of conservation and the needs and demands of animals" (Zoos: The Historical Debate). After being educated about these animals, people may spark a passion for biology, conservation, and the environment (The Conversation). In Britain, all accredited zoos must at least have an education program and a written strategy with it (The Conversation). Also, some accredited zoos reach further than these basic requirements to educate people (The Conservation). Zoos help educate people, but they also support further wildlife
Zoos teach kids about animals that they can’t normally see. Some animals, kids can see in a zoo is a Tiger, Lion, Monkeys, and Polar bears. You can’t see these animals unless you travel to areas they live in and a lot of these animals are far. But zoos make it less travel to see these animals. But sometimes there are accidents happen, but that doesn't affect how cool zoos are. For example, you can only see Polar bears in a polar, habitat.
The section of Environmental Ethics about zoos discusses their histories while also showcasing the main arguments for and against them. In the chapter it is discussed that the reasons we need zoos are for amusement, education, research, and preservation of the species. While zoos do help with these things and many more the chapter goes on to argue that animals also need their freedom. It is stated that while zoos may not be awful, they are still taking something from these animals whether their captive or wild born. Thus, there is no clear answer to whether or not there should be zoos.
In conclusion, zoos and aquariums are important in many ways. One being fo the education of students, two being the help they give animals that are endangered, and three is the fact they give good care the animals so they will be in a good healthy condition. Although zoos haven’t always been as great as they now, they have change in positive way. So, perhaps people should also
A Lot of people say that we should keep zoos. Zoos are fun, you learn a lot , and love seeing your favorite animals. Zoos also provide protection, conservation for the animals and education for the visitors.
