Wrestling is a sport about hard work and dedication. Some people say that wrestling is the hardest sport in high school because the sport is mostly a mind game. If you let someone get in your head or the workouts get in your head, then you have already lost the fight. Just like in any situation in your life, if you let the situation get the better of you, you lost.

It doesn’t matter if you’re working out to get rid of the extra weight or working out for mental stability – since we all want to free our minds from the day-to-day stress we go through.
I had heard about the cross country team but I didn’t know anyone who was a part of it. The cross country team was full of girls who were welcoming and shared the same passion for running as me. I was putting in a lot of time into this team, from long practices everyday and meets every Wednesday and Saturday, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I was able to mentor the younger members on the team and share my love for running with them. After being a part of this team for three years, together, we have won three consecutive senate championships and developed a bond like no other.

They have proven that their specific workout, will always give results. They combine cardio and weight-lifting, to make an intense, but rewarding, workout. I like weight lifting I go every Mon, Tue, and Thu. I go in my school weight room. There was a lot of people before baseball but now there are just a few people now. It was a lot more fun when there was a lot more people. I don’t go because it is fun though.

I learned to enjoy the sport through the loses and the wins. There were times when I was unsure that I would make the cut for a more elite practice, but I did my best and made it through. Things are always scary in the beginning but with courage and persistence I was able to make the cut.

Grace Hauge began gymnastics when she was about 6 years old, and enjoyed it so much. Her mother wanted her to join a more advanced group, so she joined Hamline. She quickly advanced to a more experienced group. There she was asked to join the Spirit Gymnastics club team at Hamline. Luckily she was given a choice and she agreed. During Grace’s six years of training at the Spirit Gymnastics club team, she gained friendships, a fit body, discipline, and time management. Not meaning to seem or sound snobby, Grace and her mother were both aware of what the sport could bring to Grace 's life.
