NO HOMEWORK Should kids have homework? Well, seventy-eight percent of kids around the world say homework should be banned. Homework can cause stress, teachers help, Parents can’t help. NO HOMEWORK, NO HOMEWORK!!!!!!! No, I think kids shouldn’t have homework. It causes stress for students. When I do homework it causes me to have stress, so how would little kid’s feel about homework does it cause them stress? Sometimes homework is hard but the homework amount we have know is fine for me. Some of my homework is fun like we can have coloring homework, that is really fun. I don’t think students should have homework. It could cause them to have a lot of stress. What if some students need help from a teacher. They can’t get help from a teacher
Kids shouldn't have homework. Kids have stuff to do like sports, spending time with family and working. Instead of doing 6 or so hours of homework every night. “homework came in behind not only socializing but also exercise or sports as well as working for pay.” (Gazette, par. 24) I agree because some students have to rush to get their homework done at lunch or before school because they either have sports or have to go to work everyday.
Students feel more stressed and turned off to learning, which is, a lifelong pursuit when it comes to homework. Too much homework turns kids off to learning and makes them less rather than more invested in school and learning. Are children having too much homework? There has been a big disagreement about if students should have homework or students should not have homework. Some people say they should not have homework and some say they should have homework. Children should not have homework, because it wastes all of the time out of school.
Have you ever wanted to just shred up your homework or throw it out the window and have no consequences? Kids are assigned daily homework from the time they start kindergarten at the ripe young age of five. Is it really necessary? Does it even help better learning or even higher test scores? The amount of homework we do wastes time, money, paper, and trees because it’s practically the exact same thing we did in class that day. Homework causes kid’s and teen’s frustration, tiredness, little time for other activities and possibly even a loss of interest in their education. It also keeps everyone up; it has kids and teens staying up until they finish it, the parents trying to help them and the teachers grading it. So, I think that homework is
Finally, I’m home from prison I finally get to hang out with my friends and not speak or learn about school until tomorrow, oh wait I have homework to do well I guess I am going to need to speak and learn about school. I believe that SCHOOL SHOULD HAVE NO HOMEWORK. Homework stops students from getting exercise, homework gives stress to students, Lastly homework prevents students from spending time with their family. This is why I believe that SCHOOL SHOULD HAVE NO HOMEWORK.
Some believe homework is just stressful. While others believe homework is very helpful. Students should not be given homework on nightly basis because homework is stressful.
Do you think homework is stressful for students? Some people think that homework is good for kids and helps them learn more yet others think homework brings down the student’s grade down and stresses them out. I strongly believe that we, the students should be given little to no homework because most homework pages are thrown away and paper is wasted. Also homework stresses most kids out. Lastly homework should be given less because the chore of homework can lower the grades of students.
To start off, here are some reasons why children should have less homework. All students should get less homework on a daily basis because too much can cause a great deal of stress, too much time is required to complete it, and it impacts free time and sleep. Too much homework can cause stress in a student and lead to health issues in the body and
I think there shouldn’t have homework in any elementary school, Because 99% of kids say that homework can be a stressor. No elementary student should have homework. It has not shown to be a benefit, but rather a stressor, and time consumer. Homework can be difficult for kids, and rather confusing too.
In the debate homework good or bad I agree with the side of no homework. First, when homework is more time consuming then it maximises stress. Therefore, when kids have too much stress in their lives they can not want to complete work and act out. Clearly, it will cause stress if there continues to be homework. Second, It's not fair because some kids don't have the help or resources to complete the homework they are given properly. With that, kids will get worse grades on homework just because they don't have the help from parents or siblings that all the other kids have. Obviously, kids should not have homework if it is going to be unfair. Next, homework prevents responsibility and takes away from family time. So, kids will have a worse family
Kylie drops her backpack on the floor with a thump, and runs to change her clothes. “I’m home,” she calls to her mom, grabbing a quick snack before running over to her friend Emily’s house next door. Kylie is an example of many students across the country whose schools have begun to implement a new policy of no homework. The policy encourages children to spend their free time with their family. The only “homework” that a child is given is the material that they did not finish during class time. This leads to the question. Should elementary schools assign homework to children? Children in elementary schools should not be assigned homework because children are now allowed to pursue interests and spend time with their family, homework is often repetitive and time consuming, and homework can leave stress and burden on both parents and children.
We’ve all been there, get home and start that night’s homework right away. I work for two hours and it’s time for dinner so I take a 30 minute break and then resume homework. Finally the homework is finished and it’s nine o’clock before I have even showered, get ready for the next day, or just relax. This is all assuming that there are no sports that day or that you have a social life. With all the schools looking to push start times back an hour or two we go to sleep later that much later and still don’t see our family for more than an hour a day. I have done extensive research on the numerous harmful effects of homework and the very few pros. I hope to inform you of the problems of homework and why it should be banned worldwide.
The majority of students have, at one point or another, wished for less homework. For some student’s homework is not a big issue but for other students it can take hours and even days to do all their homework. That wasted time could be used for enjoyment or learning life skills instead of homework. Nine in ten high school students reported feeling stressed about homework (Galloway 4). So, should students get less homework? Yes, students should receive less homework because it improves their well-being by reducing stress and its impacts on health, increasing leisure time, and showing that homework does not affect grades significantly.
The general arguments given by teachers and some parents are that homework increases the overall grade averages, sharpens study habits, and helps students become more prepared for college work. Along with that, it helps students learn responsibility for life in the work field of the real work. Although these arguments are valid, there are arguments against homework as well. Homework causes students to be stressed out when there is too much to be done by a certain deadline and takes away the free time of students. Some of the work that students are assigned isn't relevant to what they are studying. Worst of all, it causes that struggling student to lose interest in the study of that subject ("Students and Homework"). While it does have negative outcomes, homework also has it's perks.
It’s all too apparent that homework must be cut since it can adversely influence the mental well-being of students. According to the article “Stanford Research Shows Pitfalls of Homework” by Clifton B. Parker, 89% of students reported homework was a stressor. 56% of students considered homework as a primary source of anxiety. It is clear that homework is causing worry for most students. This was proven In the piece “Homework vs. Sleep: A Cause of Stress in Teens (And Younger Kids)” by Craig Canapari MD. in this article it was reported about 15% of juniors and seniors had more than two hours of homework per night. Canapari also pointed to a study that found 90% of teenagers are not getting enough sleep because they have too much homework. This is significant because teenagers need sleep for their growth and development.
In this setting a student who has questions on various parts of the lesson will have a much harder time getting that personal attention to answer their question, which in turn leads to hours of frustration while trying to complete the homework assignment or an incomplete homework.
