Good morning, everyone! Has any one of you ever used Uber? I assumed that you all have a positive experience about Uber as it is much cheaper than taxies. I believe that first of all, Uber offers a range of advantages for commuters; and then, the conventional mode of taxi ownership and operation is inefficient; and finally compensation can offered to taxi license owners. Therefore, my opinion is Uber should be legalised in Victoria. Firstly, Uber is beneficial for commuters. Uber has a lower cost on most rides, it is cheaper than a taxi around 9 times out of 10. For example, in Melbourne, Uber costs 40 cents per minute and 1.45 dollar per km, while the maximum taxi rate is 94 cents per minute and 2.19 per km. Thus, taxi is 89% more expensive than …show more content…
Are they facing “hardship”? The answer is taxi license owners can be compensated. When New South Wales legalised the operation of Uber, the government offered compensation to taxi owners. In 2015, the New South Wales Premier, Mike Baird, stated that the government has sold and regulated taxi license plates and so has a responsibility to offer some protection for investors who own these plates. The perpetual owners of taxi plates will receive a $20,000 payment and multiple plate owners will receive a maximum $40,000. The total industry fund is budgeted at $250 million which will be used to play licensees who are facing disruption. Therefore, we don't forget those taxi drivers who poured their savings into taxi licenses over the past decades and the government will ensure that they can get the equitable assistance. As you can see, Uber is an operation which offer lots of advantages to citizens. Uber’s efficient service is fully able to be a legalised business in Victoria. And also, the taxi owners don't have to worry about their difficulties because the compensation will be offered. Why we don't legally bring this popular business into
People have selective exposure, meaning that they won’t want their experiences to be pointless and irrelevant. If they already don’t, you will need people to understand that having Uber and Lyft back in Austin will be beneficial. One thing is obviously proximity. Proximity will tend to make people more likely to expose themselves to it. Therefore, if Uber and Lyft were brought back, people would use it. Another factor to consider is that Austin has a great nightlife and tourist scene. It would be safer, more convenient, and valuable to those who participate in these scenes to have someone to drive them around safely. People in Austin and tourists from outside of town have already been involved
Autonomous cars have been on the minds of scientists for many years. They have tried to figure out methods to use to develop self driving cars. There are good things and bad things about Autonomous cars. I know that self driving cars are a good idea. This is so because they can help change the commute for parents who are going to work, they can help expenses of living be lower by having it easier to travel to bigger cities from suburbs, and self driving cars have are going to have bugs fixed quickly.
The first being that the Uber/Lyft driver knows what they are doing in addition, they understand how to treat their passengers.Secondly, the passengers understand that time is the most important factor i.e. waiting time and travel time.
The human race advances every day with new technologies and scientific advances. As of late, the hot topic in technological advances are driverless cars. The building and testing of cars that require no driver began about ten years ago and has been adopted by many companies along the way. Due to these cars not using a human driver, they must use a combination of sensors, GPS, and video cameras to make sure it is as safe as possible. However, there are still dangers as a machine cannot react quite like humans can and cannot predict what a human will do when driving. The technology has been put in our society via human test subjects riding with the car.
Over the years, the use of technology has improved drastically, it plays a major role in our lives. Everything surrounding us has some form of technology. With the power of technology, it may be able to replace the majority of human jobs in the near future. It is not surprising to hear that self-driving cars are being made. In the article “t he problem with self-driving cars could turn out to be humans”, it goes into depth about how self-driving cars will not have the mindset of human drivers. Skeptics believe that computerized cars will not have the knowledge and awareness of the numerous reckless drivers on the road. In the article, it stated that before computerized cars are released, programmers know that “teaching a car
Thousands of people per day are let down and left disappointed by the poor service provided, if they actually receive their service to begin with, which resulted in over 9000 complaints to the TSC regarding the Melbourne services alone in 2015. Often at night, taxi’s in Melbourne seem to be non existent. Imagine crawling out of a club at 4am, wearing your beer goggles and have absolutely no cogitative ability what so ever. You certainly wouldn’t walk a dozen blocks, gambling with the chances of finding a taxi to take you back to your hotel and you most certainly would not wait for two hours for a taxi to arrive that you rang for. This, is when UberX comes in, assuring safe arrival in comfort and at a very reasonable price. The opposing levels of reliability of UberX and the vast unreliability of our states taxi services is what proves an even further separation between both service providers. People are increasingly turning to UberX, knowing full well their requirements will be met and often with benchmarking results which are incredibly difficult to overcome with any other
In today's age, the use of cannabis is commonly shamed upon. It is generally acknowledged as the “gateway drug”, meaning it opens doors to more lethal drugs. But should the use of cannabis be looked down upon? Many who are familiar, and study cannabis, actually propose that it can be linked to good health. Being cannabis can actually be linked to good health, it isn’t as lethal as one unfamiliar with the drug many be accustomed to believe. Other recreational things are a lot more deadly. So that brings the question: Should cannabis be legalized?
I think weed should be legal because people with pain problems need to smoke weed to feel better. It’s more of a pain distracter than a pain killer. It changes your mood and other factors that can take your mind off the pain. It can also help with many diseases such as glaucoma and even slow the spread of cancer!
Being capable to drive may be a dream, but can quickly turn into a nightmare that is never awoken from. An increasing amount of accidents are blamed on distracted driving, where cell phone usage is the top distraction. Many laws have been implemented to stop texting and driving, however they are not able to completely stop it. There are still four states where texting and driving is legal; Texas, Missouri, Arizona, Montana. As technology is developing, checking a mobile device for researching information, emails, and receiving texts is America's leading priority. Although car manufacturers continue to advance new technology to make it easier for an individual to utilize phones, texting and driving needs to be
Have you been in a car crash? If you have not, then I bet you know someone who has. Self driving cars are just around the corner. They are less money, safer, and more efficient for early commuters.
I think Driverless cars could be dangerous and expensive and not all people could afford it so there is no point of having them.
A similar situation is happening now in Brazil, my country: some States prohibited Uber to offer their services,
When the drivers are not same as in the nametag photo, customers also can report this problem, so that the drivers will get any punishment from the office. There are some punishments from the office. For example is scored for more than 7 days after the re-training. Drivers will get re-training when they have three small false, one big false, and when the rate of them are under 4 for 2 weeks. The scores will be done when the drivers already did three small false and one big false after re-training. The account block will be done when one small false after scores and one big false after scores. They still can answer the call from the customers, but they cannot pick-up the customers because of want to fill the gasoline or eat, and others, they will get the instant account block. Therefore, the drivers should be off first when they do not want to get another
Traditional cultures and values on the city and among the Australians could also make them reluctant on using U Drive Transport
Autonomous Vehicles could free as much as 50 minutes a day for users, who will be able to spend traveling time working, relaxing, or accessing entertainment (Mckinsey & Company). The time saved by commuters every day might add up globally to a mind-blowing one billion hours equivalent to twice the time it took to build the Great Pyramid of Giza. It could also create a large pool of value, potentially generating global digital-media revenues of €5 billion per year for every additional minute people spend on the mobile Internet while in a car. Autonomous vehicles can be instructed to drop the driver at a destination. The vehicle could then proceed to find a parking place saving this hassle for the driver resulting in significant savings in
