Argumentative Essay: The Right To Bear Arms

The right to bear arms is your second amendment right, this gives opportunities for mentally insane people to hold weapons and shoot without discretion. I see that the second amendment was placed by our forefathers as a means to protect ourselves, yet most of the people with weapons want to fire it at a gun range, so why doesn't the government keep these guns in safe location such as gun ranges and charge people to shoot with these guns. Nowadays these weapons given through our rights have caused many mass shootings even recently the tragedy that took place in Las Vegas where a male shot killed and injured hundreds of people through the use of his multiple weapons in his hotel room on the 32nd floor. This only the most recent one, there have been many more, there is no limit to what these weapons can kill, from non-human animals to human children to adults. One a weapon is shot at a person they will either die or have a serious injury, if weapon is shot at the wrong place it can even paralyze a person limiting their movements later on in their lives. Some states have placed limits and have somewhat taken initiative to stop these lunatics from getting weapons by lengthening the background test, making taking the background tesst hard and only choosing those who are a good fit to be able to carry a weapon that can take someone's life away in the the matter of seconds.

The right to bear arms is a wonderful thing. The law is great for multiple reasons and should not be taken away by Obama. Reason one for the right to bear arms is to be used as self defense in case of an attack by another person. Reason two for the right to bear arms helps citizens to save their own life and live a safe life. Reason three, in order to get a gun the person must go under a background check. Reason four, people are excluded if they have a criminal act against someone. Reason five, this law does not carelessly let a person own a firearm.

Gun control has been a topic in our country since our founding fathers adopted the second amendment to the US constitution. Although recently controversy has sparked to an all-new extent in America due to the recent spike in mass shootings and gun related homicides. So many families and loves ones are affected each year in the United States because of gun related violence and other mass killing events, because of these events gun control laws need to be revamped and strengthened in American in order to protect the citizens.

How many of us want the U.S. government to have the right to tell us what to do, and when w can do it. There are probably not many who would agree that the government should have that right. Though having gun control laws is not to that extreme, some would say it is the first step. Growing up in a small town, and also growing up with guns my whole life I was one of those people who did not want gun control laws. Then after reading two articles that discussed this topic I found that I have been ignorant about this subject.

Since I was a little girl, I remember hunting season; Dad and Katlyn, my sister, would come home to say they killed a deer. Even though I did not enjoy hunting, I still see how much they love to go; hunting great bonding time for them. My dad taught my sister and me how important gun safety is. He has shown us how to carry a gun properly, never to aim it at anyone, never put our finger on the trigger until ready to shoot, and always leave the safety button on until ready to shoot as well. Our Country has met terms with the unfortunate reality of today’s wicked world. Brutality and inhumanity coincide with day to day lives of the innocent. Americans are constantly bombarded with the ever-growing drawback of violence. Lets face it, our very own streets we stroll along pass have now become a battleground. We cannot ignore this truth and we cannot turn a blind eye towards the damage these criminals are putting forth on our society. We must respond in a way that puts an end to these horrors, however, the effort by some ill-judged individuals to terminate the legal and rightfully given ownership of firearms does not tackle the real problem at hand, whatsoever. In fact, it simply disarms the law-abiding civilians who are in need of this structure of self defense the most. When approaching the issue of gun control this backward process is so important to understand. It should be greatly emphasized how these laws rip away one by one the protection of the people by demobilizing those who are obedient and honorable. With that being said, such gun bans should not be tolerated because these regulations are ineffective in the sense that they do not solve the real problem, which is the person directly behind the gun, and because these actions outwardly bashes the most fundamental right given to you, which is the right to defend your life.

On September 11, 2001 our abstruse nation once collapsed when terrorist consequently decided to attack our home, this day was the start of an endless war between civilization. Nevertheless, after that tragic day we weren’t prepared for this attack as the thousand and later, millions died because our citizens neglected the world that was about to start. In today's time when our enemies have become the one’s we instituted to protect us, shouldn’t we have a way to fight back? December 15, 1791 our nation established their citizens the right to bear arms as a way to protect themselves from enemies of the state or aliens. On that day about nation became aware that it could protect itself from anything that could cause it harm, whether it was in our country or out of state. The 2nd Amendment stood for freedom of the public to fight those who would try to take it away from us. The fact that we are fighting wars in our own country should be a testament to our rights as we should be able to fight these wars within our self. Enemies come in different shape, size or form, however, in our own country we are facing a bigger threat as we are the reason why they are so powerful. Knowing what enemy we’re facing should give us the right to at least keep our families safes.

In today’s society, people deal with many issues that are very controversial, affecting social politics on a main level. From homosexual rights to the legalization of marijuana, many people are faced daily with argumentative conflicts controlling one’s thoughts and decisions. The most prominent issue we face today deals with gun control at its entirety. The right to bear arms, as stated in the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights, has caused a large impact on the control of gun and ongoing violence in modern day America. For some of these Americans, they believe the issue is diminishing basic rights and uses the “protection” mechanism in defense. While others believe that having certain restrictions on gun usage could make it safer for society and decrease gun-related violence, some feel that excess gun control can hinder families and lives that thrive on support from shooting tournaments, hunting, etc.
