Gay marriage is a topic that is so often discussed by those with highly diverse opinions. As some people agree with those of the same sex pursuing marriage, others do not seem to feel the same way. This fact can apply to individuals as well as entire countries. Several of these individuals and countries originally agreed with the subject of gay marriage as others were required to be forced due to the fact that their ban on gay marriage was decided as unconstitutional. Same-sex marriage is a controversial issue in today's world where some choose to agree with the decision of homosexual people and some choose to oppose it, all doing so usually for different reasons.

The debate between whether gay marriage should be legalized or not has been a controversial topic recently. In the past twelve years, equal marriage rights have been legalized in 6 states of the U.S.. Eighteen states do not allow gay marriage and do not recognize civil unions. Homosexuality is the sexual attraction to same sex. Being judged and not having the rights that everybody else has is wrong and it’s wrong because everybody should have their rights. People that are from the (LGBT) community do not get the same equality as normal people get. The LGBT people that want to get married and get their marriage license couldn’t in the past and how they were not treated the same way everyone else was treated. On June 26, 2015, a huge victory was made for the gay rights movement when the Supreme Court ruled by a 5 to 4 vote guaranteeing a right to same-sex marriage. While this is a great achievement, a problem has come up. Kentucky County Clerks have denied same-sex couples marriage licences a number of times even with the recent court ruling. This is discriminatory and should be acted on immediately; no couple should be denied their right to marriage and anyone who works in the government should abide by the law. This is plain and simple common sense, yet in today’s society, has to be argued about.

Marriage is usually defined as the formal union between a man and a woman. That definition may need some adjustments though. The nation wide debate on wether gay marriage should be legalized or not has stirred for a while now. However, the Supreme Court ruled in late June that same-sex marriage is now perfectly legal. Ever since this ruling there have many people who are outraged with the Supreme Court's decision. Usually, it is because it's agianst their religion, or they don't think it's natural. I am not one of those people. I believe that it was right for gay marriage to be legalized, because same-sex couples should have the same rights as heterosexual couples, gay marriage has already become a reality, and gay marriage does not affect heterosexual couples.

Gay marriage is a very talked about topic in are country that shouldn’t be ignored. I believe men and women should be able to love freely and not be shamed by it. Marriage is a great factor in the United States. To some people it’s what we live for; is to get married and start a family. To not give everyone the same opportunity to have a happy marriage and family is unlike us. This problem is bringing a lot of hate, the same hate that was used in racial discrimination so why not give gays equal rights like everyone else. A “normalized” family based on American standards encompasses the idea of marriage and having children. Before the legalization of gay marriage, this “dream” was generally exclusive to heteronormative couples. Slowly, the acceptance of gay marriage as another possibility has opened up the “normalized” family structure to include homosexual couples. The dream is the image of happiness and for those who do not try to achieve it are not deemed happy. Those who choose to be included into this structure are more tolerated than others who do not fit in this molded construct. Those pushing for “same-sex marriage” assume that the change is for the greater good and we should all just get on board. What they fail to recognize is that gay marriage is not simply a matter of personal belief or a “yes” or “no” issue.

Same sex marriage is a global issue and it has been witnessed in many countries which have responded differently about the issue. Same sex marriage is also referred to as gay marriage and it involves people of the same gender or sex getting married. The marriage can occur either in a religious setting or even a secular ceremony. Marriage equality is another term that is used hand in hand with same-sex marriage and it means that opposite sex and same-sex marriage can be regarded as equal and they are legal. The whole issue can be said to consist of lesbianism, gays, bisexuality, intersex and transgender.

People are born homosexual. If you are homosexual you cannot get married. That idea is ridiculous. The only thing that should matter in marriage is love and denying them this is a violation of religious freedom.
