"The Last Supper," by Leonardo Da Vinci is a fresco painting, meaning that it is directly painted on a wall. The "Last Supper" is fascinating to me in several ways. Maybe because I am Catholic and being familiar with it by hanging in our dining area at home. Most of my friends and acquaintances have a picture of it in their home as well.
In our world's history, many works of art have been created and destroyed, and it is only the authentic and original works of art that people keep in their memories and embrace on to them for years and generations. The Last Supper is one of these special pieces. It is more than five hundred years old, and yet still one of the most popular and well-known paintings today.
I chose The Last Supper since it's a work of art that I am familiar with. You can ask any person about it, and practically everyone has heard of it. It is so popular that I am sure it is regarded as one of the most famous portrait and spiritual paintings of all time.

The painting shows Jesus and his twelve disciples at the last supper, exactly when Jesus tells them "One of you shall betray me." The painting shows how they are all sitting at a long table and Christ has his arms held out to them. The twelve apostles are all separated into sets of three and they all show shocked facial expressions upon hearing Jesus' statement, except Judas, the one accountable for betraying Jesus. He is leaning back into the shadows, and he is shown holding a bag of money close to his chest.
