Art has multiple purposes. Some people enjoy art for the emotional engagement they receive while viewing it. Happy or pretty things give us hope; sad things make us feel less alone in our sadness. Other people see art as a way to balance who they are as a human. Where some people see propaganda others see a reminder of what is truly important in life (Schooloflifechannel). No matter what the reason, art is a vital part of the community not easily forgotten. One thing, however, is constantly on the mind of viewers, and that is the question of what each work of art means beyond the superficial, to the language only truly understood by the human soul. Literacy art, visual arts, and music are all very different ways of expressing oneself. Literacy art is way to express yourself through words and put in the emotion that one is feeling when writing literature. When one is writing literature you are able to express not only your emotion, but also the emotions that the other characters are feeling in the story. When you are able to read about every characters emotion, you are able to understand the situation from another person's point of view and how they reacted.

The “style, genres, modes of representation, iconography, media, personal manner, and format” of art pieces are what help the artist express themselves and present the rhetoric (Meltzoff 27). Art causes thinking; It makes you realize that sometimes the simplest things once meant enough to somebody they cared to paint, draw, photograph, or make it so that others can have a chance of sharing in admiration of it. It is an insight into what the artist was trying to say. It is safe to say that no matter what the subject matter is, the artist is always trying to make the audience, or maybe even themself for that matter, feel something. Art shows some of the rawest possible human emotions in a physical form.

Good art allows me to flee the realms of reality. In my mind's limitless consciousness, I can escape the mundanity of everyday life. It opens a door in my head to a world only limited by my imagination. I am no more a slave to gravity, chained down on the earth when I am reading. I can be a bird and soar high above the clouds, or be a fish and swim deep down in the darkest depths of the ocean. I am there, I am that person, and everything else around me regardless of what it is, fades away. Sometimes these people are the one's I'd like to be but sometimes I encounter nefarious characters I wholly condemn. I am able to feel the emotions that the artist intends for me to feel. What do you love to do? Maybe you love art, maybe you love acting, or maybe you love sports. Now, imagine, whatever it is you love to do, you are the best at that. So, if you love sports, you are the greatest athlete of all time. Yet, even though you are the greatest at what you do, imagine nobody appreciates you. Imagine yourself as a sports star, and you are the strongest, fastest, quickest athlete in history but no one knows your name. Adam, the first man to ever walk the earth, was believed to be made of dirt. The Lord also made the man’s wife from Adam’s ribs (Gateway Genesis 2). Although the biblical version of the creation of man did not describe the entire process needed to make a human body, it stills maintains sacred value. Adam was created from dirt, and the dirt became cells, which then turned into tissues. Those tissues became organs and those organs combined to form organ systems. Regardless of taste, art has been a part of our lives for as long as humanity has existed. For thousands of years, individuals have been creating, scrutinizing, and enjoying art. Many will ask the question: “What is art?” Humanity has faced this question for many centuries. For instance, how are we able to distinguish between fine art and a sculpted piece. I think one of the easiest distinctions to make between these different forms of art is the artist and the artist’s overall objective. The connection between the message of the artist and what he/she accomplishes through the medium can classify artwork. Many people assume fine art is made for an elite society. However, individuals are not required to understand the meaning behind art in order to enjoy it. Phenomenal art immediately captures the human eye. Whether the artist is trying to evoke emotion, a particular idea, or something beyond human comprehension. The most important thing is how well the viewing audience receives it. Inventive art pieces spark the discussion on whether those pieces are labeled as art or not. Art is something that inspires people, something that transports us into new realities and moves us into subconscious places we never thought existed.

In fact people even travel long distances to view world-renowned tourist sites, such as the Sistine Chapel. There are billions of creations and events that are considered art whether that art is valued by a large audience or the artist alone. Either way, art has become a tremendously significant method of entertainment in the world today, even if one does not recognize the entertainment as art.
