The role of the assistant principal is multi-faceted in regards to a student’s education. The assistant principal first and foremost endeavors to develop relationships with students, parents and teachers. Then, the assistant principal comes alongside the teachers, parents and students to offer support. This support is offered in many ways. With teachers, the assistant principal is available for ideas, methods and strategies to use in the classroom, and supports the teacher in discipline issues that may arise. The assistant principal is available to listen to parents and implement meetings and measures if necessary. If there is a need for additional communication regarding parental involvement in school activities, the assistant principal
W. Edwars Deming, American engineer and management consultant, wrote “a bad system will beat a good person every time.” This quote demonstrates the necessity for a school administrator to establish a school culture that is inviting and characterized by collaboration. In order to intentionally create a welcoming and collaborative school climate, clear, frequent, and inclusive communication is fundamental. Families, staff, and community members should be afforded the opportunity to become involved in enhancing student learning, the decision making processes of the school, and meaningful school-based activities. Opening the lines of communication about possible involvement at a school promotes a good system, in which good people can thrive.
As teachers, we are familiar with the policies and procedures necessary to discipline students, as a result; I am confident that I will have the ability to discipline appropriately and at the same time counsel students into being better than the way they came. After talking to an Assistant Principal at my school this year, he advised me to always follow the student handbook when disciplining students. The student handout lists numerous offenses and consequences students will receive if they misbehave. Therefore, discipline students effectively and consistently is a strength that I will possess when entering the position as an Assistant Principal because I have done it so well in my classroom. Supervising teachers and departments assigned would be a walk in the park for me because I am a people person and building relationships, in this case, would be vital in order to ensure people respect and trust the leader. Therefore, it would be my ultimate responsibility to build relationships while also guiding teachers in the right direction to success. Finally, keeping records is a responsibility that I am skilled because I am very organized. Every year I keep records of students behavior, assignments, tests, and communication logs when parents
BLUF: Although all of the SCPOs applying for the assistant school chief job would perform superbly, the CPO Academy needs my unique skill set and motivation in that position as we transform our curriculum and image.
I am writing in response to the Legislative Correspondent position handling foreign policy, military and defense portfolio. I recently learned about the position opening from William Cunningham. I want to continue from last fall when I was interning in your office to contribute my service to Senator Cory A. Booker.
Introduction: Mr. Nichols thanked everyone for attending. He explained why the subcommittee was developed; the goal is to have a workable plan ready for the fall. Mrs. Everly thanked Mr. Nichols for his leadership on the Board, and by bringing this conversation to the table, we can only get better. At the administrator meeting last week with Mrs. Joseph, administrators talked about the communication issues within the discipline process that need to be worked out; there is a need to tighten up communication between the office and teacher. Mr. Nichols noted that central office administrators have already been working very hard on this subject, but he thinks it is important for administrators to receive input from teachers and parents.
The role of the administrator is different from that of the teacher in program and curriculum planning because the role of an administrator is to ensure the quality of a childhood program. Administrators may include center directors and assistant directors, curriculum coordinators, teacher supervisors, and program managers (Gadzikowski, 2013). Their role is more like the master planner and
In the role of assistant principal, I would strive to build relationships with all stakeholders (students, parents, staff, board of education, and community). In order to build relationships with students, I would have a presence in the school. Welcome students as they come in the school, have conversations with students in the hall and cafeteria, be present at school functions and athletics. Building relations with students is much more than a discipline meeting. Being present at activities and athletics is a great way to engage both parents and the larger community. When discipline meetings do occur, I would reach out to the parents to include them in the conversation.
It is important that good relationships are established between teachers and the parents of their pupils. This is because if the parents are kept informed and are interested in what their child is doing then they will encourage the child to do the best they can and to do out of school learning and activities. It is also important that the parent trusts the school and the teacher to do the best by the child and the best way to create this trust is to keep the parent in the loop. This principle covers beneficence, autonomy and trustworthiness.
The school principal is in charge of their students, making sure the rules are followed, and punishments are made if they are broken.
The principal should be the keeper of the schools good will and represent the school vision, so that the staff believes they are all in this together. The
The concept that I found most interesting and comparable to life for this week was role competence. Everyone had multiple roles in life not just humans either animals also share role competence. One of my roles is student, as a student I have to know and act upon the appropriate behaviors that go along with being a student. Meaning that I: go to class, listen, engage, and do my work in order to succeed for my future. Also this entails being involved socially with things around campus and better myself as a person and being s student teaches you to be a well rounded person. When I go home from school my role changes significantly but they still over lap. When I am home my role is a daughter and as that role I am there to make my parents proud

I most definitely feel that I am an adult in that I was born during the demographic cohort generation X and meeting these top five characteristics. The first characteristic is “Role Transition” completing one’s education, whether it is graduating from high school and transitioning to college, vocational schooling, or the military is a great start. The number two characteristic that an adult should acquire is personal autonomy a sense of “Independence” is very important knowing who one is and not depending on parents for financial support or shelter is a very important characteristic any emerging adult should possess hence realizing that maturity is an ongoing process and no matter what life brings to the table an adult will put one foot in
The principal’s role in developing positive community relations sets the tone for communication patterns, partnership formation and/or alienation (Fiore, 2013). There are many tasks that the principal has that is important to school and community relations. Some of those are being a good listener, diplomatic and tactful and all situations. They also have to promote the open door policy to be free to communicate with students, parents, and their staff. They also have to inform the superintendent and community about good and bad things that are
