Wheezing is a High-pitched, whistling sound which occur when air moves through narrowed breathing tubes in the lungs. The nurse should administer quick relief or rescue medications such as bronchodilators or inhaled steroids as ordered. Bronchodilators open the airway for maximum effectiveness. Auscultate breath sounds. Auscultate breath sounds as indicated by the patient’s condition. An increase or decrease in adventitious breath sound may indicate respiratory status change and this will prompt intervention.
Lungs: Diminished breath sounds in all lung fields. Resonant to percussion. No wheezes, rales, or rhonchi. Symmetric chest expansion. Breathing nonlabored.
There are numerous different challenges that the paramedic will face in attempting to keep an airway patent. These challenges vary from patient to patient depending on their condition. One challenge in keeping a patent airway the paramedic will face is trying to maintain the airway of a trauma patient. Trauma patients make it difficult to maintain an airway due to the traumatic damage, especially if it has affected the face and neck regions.
Lungs: Diminished breath sounds in all lung fields. Resonant to percussion. No wheezes, rales, or rhonchi. Symmetric chest expansion. Breathing nonlabored.
Octavia Butler, the author of “Speech Sounds” and many other short stories, is a well-known author for her feminist point of view which might be attributed to her father who died when she was young and her mother taking on the role as the father figure as well as the mother figure. After the bus stop, Valerie Rye, the protagonist in this short story who goes by Rye for a lot of the short story, met Obsidian who Rye assumes his name to be; also, he used to be a LAPD officer. Rye immediately trusts Obsidian to drive her to Pasadena to see what is left of her family. In Octavia Butlers “Speech Sounds,” the men and women have reverse gender roles throughout this short story than we are used to because men in our world tend to have more power over women.
Abstract- Abstract-Respiratory diseases, such as pneumonia, bronchitis leading causes of child death in the word .out of this pneumonia is cause the million children death each year around the word. One of the challenged faced in consistent diagnosis of childhood pneumonia in remote regions is difficulties arising from field deployable and laboratory facilities as well as trained healthcare worker. In this paper we address such issue and to identify the pneumonia based on the mathematical analysis of cough sound. We used the wavelet-based mathematical tool which is a useful for crackle detection work in lung sound analysis. Such feature can be added with other mathematical feature and develop the automated classifier to separate pneumonia with
The short story “Speech Sounds” is a science fiction story written by Octavia Butler. This essay portrays a central theme that really opened my eyes as well as many others. This theme is to never take your ability to communicate for granted. Communication is a huge part of our culture and civilization. I never truly realized how important communication really was until reading this story. Without it, we cannot express our feelings in a correct manner. Not being able to connect with other individuals results in it being very hard to cooperate with others, causing chaos amongst society. In a short amount of time, the world would turn on each other causing mass amounts of violence. Likewise, this is similar to the story “Speech Sounds.” There are many takeaways one can have after reading this story.
The normal breath sounds are called Bronchial and Vesicular. The inspiratory phase is usually louder than the expiratory phase. Bronchial breath sounds are not normally heard over the thorax in resting animals they are normally heard over the trachea and larynx. Otherwise, bronchial sounds heard over the thorax would suggest lung consolidation or disease. Vesicular breath sounds consist of a low whisper inspiratory phase followed by a short silent expiratory phase. Since vesicular breath sounds are normally absent or silent, increased intensity can be associated with pulmonary consolidation. (Egan’s 10th Ed, 2013) The abnormal breath sounds for a CF patient are called rhonchi, most commonly heard at the end of inspiration or even early expiration and have a gurgling quality to them. Rhonchi are classified as low pitched. Rhonchi breath sounds are associated with diseases of larger airways such as cystic fibrosis. Rhonchi are caused by some sort of blockage whether it be mucus, lesions, or foreign bodies. In this case the rhonchi breath sound is caused by extremely thick mucus blockages. ( Cystic Fibrosis, rightdiagnosis.com) A complete blood count is done to measure the amount of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. The normal results for a white blood cell count is 4,500-10,000 per microliter. For a cystic fibrosis patient their white blood cell count is elevated because
Alyssa Ayres, author of this week’s reading, questions yet defends the rise of India as a global power. Ayres praises the country’s booming growth in military defense to manufacturing ventures. While the world continues to view India as an “emerging power,” its alliance with the United States can help set them up for the world
I am going to presume that if you are reading this article on Jane’s website,
The pathophysiology of Asthma includes inflammation of the airway. The way in which this works is from an irritant which can include dust, pollen, cedar, or cat hair. When a reaction occurs, the airways become inflamed and narrow. The narrowing occurs because once the inflammatory response is triggered by an irritant, histamines, immunoglobulin E antibodies, and leukotrienes are released. Because of this, mucous production occurs. Since the bronchioles are inflamed and narrow, breathing becomes difficult. Wheezing sounds can be heard due to the lack of air being able to easily move in and out of the narrowed bronchioles.
Respiratory: Lung sounds are clear on auscultation without rales, rhonchi, or wheezes. Respiration unlabored with
As a young doctor on call in one of the leading hospital in Nigeria, I had a patient, an 8 year old girl that presented with breathing difficulty accompanied with wheeze. The picture fitted so well into an acute asthmatic attack and we began management along that line. There was an initial improvement but this improvement wasn 't as expected and this made us probe further. The patient’s mother attested to the fact
I was bouncing up and down in my car seat my seat belt trying to keep a hold of me. I was so excited to finally get to go to six flags. As we pulled up to get into the parking lot, they wind rushed through my hair, I stuck my head out the window to get a better view of six flags. The rides going back in forth and the people eagerly waiting in line to get in. we pulled up to a parking. The car came to a stopped, everyone jolted forward and then back in their seats. I opened the door stepping out and letting the rest of the people come out. The door slammed behind me and echoed through the parking lot. We made our way getting closer and closer to the amusement park, my older cousins were walking behind me and the young ones who were running across the street playing, my uncle screamed at them to not play in the street.
