If a public company is listed on the ASX, members of the public can buy and sell securities (such as shares) issued by the company on the secondary market conducted by the ASX. People wishing to buy or sell securities must do so through a broker who is a participant in the ASX.

During the last decade the Australian economy has experienced continuous growth and has featured contained inflation, low unemployment and a strong and stable financial system. By 2012, Australia has experienced more than 20 years of continuous economic growth, averaging 3.5% a year. The Global Finance Magazine (May 2013) awards the Australian Best Bank to ANZ Group in 2013. The ANZ Group has a very strong and leading franchise in retail, commercial and institution banking sector. Till 2013, the ANZ already operates among thirty countries and has a quickly and successful expansion in Asian emerging market such as China, Republic of Korea, Vietnams, Indonesia and so on (ANZ Annual Report 2013). In 21st century, Asia and Latin America are perceived as representatives of the emerging market, among them, China and Brazil are two most vital and attractive countries in emerging market. The laws and corporate structures in Australia are slightly different from the USA, and they are managed by the government entity, the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC); whose function is very similar to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in its regulation of the capital markets (ACIS, nd). During the course of setting up our companies we had to sort through the myriad of regulations to ensure were legally compliant yet still strengthening our position as shareholders. In the end, we used a multiple entity configuration in Australia, which was duplicated more less when we opened a second facility in Fiji, except for bringing in an investor.
