UNC Charlotte has made a significant impact on my undergraduate career because this campus has an abundance of resources, a helpful staff, a diverse atmosphere, and plenty of opportunities for campus involvement. This university has a variety of staff, all of which have been helpful in my college experience. They are excellent about working with students so they can gain the most out of their educational experience. For example, when I have sought out more information on which portion of Spain to go to, so that I may improve my Spanish fluency, my professor was extremely helpful. In Cary, Illinois we are incredibly lucky to have excellent youth sports programs that are built upon strong core values. These programs focus on the responsibility to demonstrate and develop good character among all participants. CBA is part of CHARACTER COUNTS! which is the largest nonprofit, coalition of schools, communities and nonprofit organizations in the country working to advance character education by teaching the Six Pillars of Good Character. At the heart of the CBA mission statement is good sportsmanship, learning the fundamentals of the game and having fun which is the foundation to achieving these goals. I have lived in North Carolina for almost fifteen years now. Throughout this period I have seen the abundance of opportunities here in North Carolina especially in education. There are countless numbers of great colleges and universities, however, since I have lived in the mundane city of Greensboro I feel constricted in my environment. Wilmington, being close to the sandy beaches of Wrightsville beach and home to a great university has led me to consider moving east. UNC Wilmington, being the state’s coastal university reflects the values of numerous things such as ethics, integrity, and diversity. The organization I will focus my assessment on is Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU). SNHU is a private, nonprofit, accredited institution with more than 70,000 online students, where I work as a specialized Military Academic Advisor. Southern New Hampshire University, founded in 1932 as the New Hampshire School of Accounting and Secretarial Science, has evolved into one of the fastest growing and most dynamic private, nonprofit universities in the nation (About us, 2017). There are many departments and programs at SNHU, but I will focus on my position as a fully online Military Academic Advisor. The online programs fall under the College of Continuing and Online Education (COCE). I began training in October 2016, and have retained a lot of the latest information and built on that with continued training and mentorship. Our mission says “We exist to make high-quality education accessible and affordable for all. Through our innovative culture and unwavering commitment to student success, we empower students to transform their lives and the lives of those around them” (About us, 2017).

Blues lives matter. A movement that began in 2014 when two NYPD officers were killed by people who claimed to be supporters of the Black lives matter movement. After this incident, states have tried to put in place legislation that will make it a hate crime to assault or kill a police officer. I strongly believe that these laws that are trying to be passed are completely unnecessary. Never in the history of the United States has police officers been marginalized or been the inferior group of people.

The diversity of NC State would benefit me by allowing me to experience new relationships and skills. I learn and develop through my experiences, and the mixture of the campus, culture, and nearby cities would give me that growth. These new opportunities

The University of North Carolina Wilmington gives a welcoming and home-like feeling to all who attend. Once I step foot on campus, it reminds me of the privilege I have of staying home. It has always been the college I've wanted to attend. The small and diverse community is what keeps me here in Wilmington, North Carolina and UNCW fulfills my dreams of not leaving. I find the mixture of races and gender to be essential in a community or school. It defines a person including their culture and allows everyone to be different from one another. It proves that we can all get along and work together to create greater changes as a whole; UNCW has that variety. However, not only does the diverse environment attract me, but so does the beautiful campus.

In 1850, the Arkansas school for the deaf,ASD, first opened located in Little rock, Arkansas. Opened with 6 students enrolled.The school was a K-12 residential school the students stay from sunday night till friday afternoon.. The school consists of a elementary school, middle school, and a high school.The mission statement for ASD is to “work together to create learning opportunities for academic excellence and personal independence”.The school board for ASD is a mixture of hearing and deaf people which is good because they can come together with two different perspectives.

I have fallen in love with UNCW after first-hand seeing it for myself last summer. I know a lot of alumni from UNCW and have heard nothing but positive things about the school, teachers, and its courses. However, approximately 85%, of Black students attend PWIs. (Black Gendare Port)  I myself fall into this percentile dealing with the Black students attending PWI 's. I know your thinking why not go to an HBCU where I am more likely to be successful. In spite of that, UNF ranks 18 out of 131 for the leading registered nursing program in Florida. The rankings are based on the current and the past pass rates of NCLEX-RN which is a standardized exam for entry-level nurses. UNF has a current pass rate of 94.04, which surpasses the national pass rate of 85.26. (UNF.edu) My dream profession is to become a nurse. I wanted to go to a prestigious school that would help benefit me in the most accommodating way. Attending UNF helped me realize that no matter the circumstances I want to be successful at all cost. Yet, it is still nerve wrecking to know that your trying to beat the odds.

I love how UNC Wilmington’s population of students was so diverse. I knew coming out of high school I wanted a fresh start and I wanted to make my own way into this world. I felt like UNC Wilmington was the best place for me because it was going to allow me to do just that. The diverse amount of students meant that I was going to meet so many new people that were different from the people I had known all my life. Compared to the other schools I visited, UNC Wilmington stood out to me more than the others. The whole staff was so much more welcoming and helped me really feel like I was already a part of the Seahawk family. I think the staff reflected the atmosphere of UNC Wilmington and really made me want to work hard to be accepted into the school. Wilmington started out as home, then became just a vacation. After years of moving and resisting the pull to move back, I finally made the best and brightest decision I think I have ever made. I am moving home, and in the process, I thought there would be no better place to further my education than The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I have recently taken a year off in between high school and pursuing my college education, and frankly, I think it has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life. I have been accepted and decided to attend Lindenwood University- Belleville, beginning in the Fall of 2017. The college I have chosen is very close to home and has an excellent Nursing program. I intend to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree as my first step to eventually become a Certified Nurse Practitioner, specializing in Pediatric Psychiatry. I have been fascinated by all areas of medicine from a very young age and the interest has only grown over the years.
