If I was in the daughter’s position, I would settle to for what I would be paid elsewhere. It is a first come first serve basis. In lecture, it was explained that people face trade-offs, meaning that one has to give up something in order to get something (Larcher, 2017). So what are people are doing when requesting a babysitter is, if they request a babysitter they have to give up something, which is money. Nothing is actually free according to lecture, so something has to been given for someone to receive a babysitter even if it means them giving up their money or me giving up my personal time that I could have spent on something else (Larcher, 2017). This is tied into with the concept of opportunity cost. According to the textbook, the definition …show more content…
In the case of the babysitting service, for me the opportunity cost of me choosing my parents even though I do not have another babysitting job is giving up possible free time I could have to practice my instruments, do homework, or do anything else I have planned for that day. So, babysitting for zero dollars would be free for them, but it would still cost me. On another note, choosing whether to babysit for my parents or someone else, depends not only first come first serve but it also depends on price. According to lecture, price determines who gets what (Larcher, 2017). So, if I use first come first serve like I usually do, I would have to consider price. For example, if someone comes to me and asks me to babysit for about fifteen dollars an hour, I will not accept fifteen dollars an hour if my parents come to me with the same price. I will not really have much to gain if I go with my parent’s offer. So, they would have to give me a reason to choose them by raising the price. I do not think it would make sense to switch something for the same thing, and it would also waste my time because I would have to cancel on the other party even though I agreed to babysit for them. The only reason why I would consider settling for less is if it came at some convenience to
Many people including ourselves were not fully aware of the D.A.C.A program and its benefits. This project allowed us to look into and learn what the D.A.C.A program is all about; therefore, allowing us to form our own views on the program. We learned that many young immigrants are benefiting from this program by being given the opportunity to get a higher education while being able to feel more at home in the only home some of them know. Many of us grew up with some of these people in our communities and in our middle schools and high schools we call these people our friends which allows us to also feel happy when we see our friends able to better them self and join use in college and mile stone. Many benefits come with DACA, such as boosting the economy, and introducing more people in to the work place.
Pediatricians deliver care for infants, children, teenagers, and young adults. They are specialized in analyzing and healing of younger people. Some of the illnesses treated by pediatricians include minor injuries, infectious diseases and not limited to administration of vaccination. Some pediatricians specify in pediatric surgery or serious medical situations that normally affect younger patients, which might include autoimmune disorders or chronic infirmities. Certification is not necessarily required, but certification does increase the possibility of employment. A license is required for the position.
If someone leaves their child at a park and goes to work only to work for minimum wage income. We should not charge the people for supervision, we should be glad to help out our community. Children may get into accidents even lose their lives if they are left without responsible supervision. Would you like it if you worked at a job where they payed you minimum wage and you also had a 9 or 10 year old child? Knowing that you cannot afford a babysitter, knowing that you will have to leave your child at a park close to work or even at home where they can set the house on fire? I know I would not want that. At last, I would like to state that their needs to be an organization for taking care of children, no payments involved, serves for community service. Have Teens and Adults look after children in a park for someone who cannot afford a babysitter during the summer. It is not about the money, it is about how you make an impact on your community and those around you. It is about helping those in need without the worry about money. Where the parent can drop off their child at the park where this organization could at and have the parent have full trust. It is about helping one another even if you do not know the other person you’re helping out. To me an organization like this is something that needs to be started for the people in the community. I know there will be complications with starting an organization that provides free child supervision but it is not impossible and if we all were to play a role in it then it could be something that helps out other people in the
The price of motherhood is the collective sum of all that women give up in order to raise their children. Mothers have difficulty finding jobs, or keeping the ones they have once they have their first, or in some cases second, child. They have trouble finding a schedule that fits their needs and employers that understand what mothers go through. As a result, many mothers quit their jobs. Other mothers, who remain stay-at-home, do not receive any benefits from their hard work. Divorced mothers also tend to receive little child support, since they did not bring in any income themselves.
In general, child care jobs involve caring for children while their parents are away. Care may be needed for children of various ages, from infancy through the mid to late teens. Care may be set in an individual's home, in a private group facility, in school, or in a public facility as part of a government program. Child care professionals may have additional responsibilities having to do with education, health care, or children with special needs.
Sometimes children have to go to babysitters that maybe they do not like but their parents do because they are not old enough to watch themselves yet. Some children only have one parent so the parent has to go to work to pay for their children, and sometimes babysitters have planned something else so the children do not really have someone to go to, which then causes the parents to have to get ahold of their
Do you ever question what you want to be doing for a living? Currently I have two careers I am interested in working in a daycare facility and owning my own in-home daycare. Before deciding between the two there is a few things I had to consider such as the pay, the hours, and investment needed. When working in a daycare facility your pay can range from $7.50-$11.21 making the median hourly salary $8.70. When owning a daycare there is no set salary your salary goes based on your customers unless your customers are willing to pay the price you set then your business can go either way. Next I would consider the hours, when working in a facility your hours are likely to go based on when you are needed as opposed to if I had my own daycare I
I am a current Freshman with over six years of babysitting experience, including as a daily babysitter for a family with three small children over the summer. I have participated in 4-H for 10 years, so I have a lot of experience handling a wide variety of pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even goats and sheep. I have tutored a vast array of subjects, ranging from first grade to high school. I am dependable and enthusiastic, and look forward to helping in any way I
An increase in baby booming makes it tougher for working parents to find daycare. The facts prove that having children come with a true price. Even so it doesn’t change the issues of finding child care or makes them go away. When parents work, quality child care is a necessity. And it does not come cheap. For families with more than one child, child care can eat up one salary, leaving parents wondering both working is worth it. When thinking of child care there are some options to consider like choosing a child care center, the costs of child care centers, and waiting lists.
The approach to the research on the topic of on-site childcare benefit bases its results on scientific findings. Using scholarly articles what were peer reviewed, and analyzing the findings of experts within the field, while comparing the situation at our two locations. In addition, we solicited the input of the workers with the formation of focus group comprising of members of both staffs from the Rockville and the main campus. This group represented all levels and categories of staff. The aim of the focus group is to communicate with their category of workers and articulate their concerns as it relates to the establishment of an on-site childcare service.
Babysitting is an excellent source of income. For young girls, it is a good paying source of work. You'll never get rich being a babysitter, but compared to minimum wage jobs that require specific days and hours from you, babysitting is often preferable. Also you will work for a variety of employers, rather than one.
And will be free while the parents are at work, if not working and the parents just need someone to care for the children while having fun and needing time off, the cost will be $5.00 for kids 9 & under and $10.00 for kids 10-14 of age. Children 15-19 or referred to as teens will be able to stay home alone since it will be safe enough.
Babysitting is a temporary job for certain amount of hours where you watch over children while the parents are gone. Since my parents are divorced, my family is very big, I have double parents, grandparents, and siblings. So I am the middle child because I have a two older step-sisters and I have a little sister and little brother. Growing up, I had the opportunity to do both I was babysat by my older step-sisters when I was younger and I a babysat my little sister and little brother. Since I was family, I was expected to babysit without getting paid but for doing it I would get other privileges. So for my family they were very fortunate to have me and take care of the little ones but for some families they have no choice but to hire a babysitter.
Their brains have not fully developed and all children are different. Babysitting is different from being a preschool teacher or a mother. When babysitting a person has no way to prepare other than asking questions about the child. Always learn as learn as much as possible, or it could end up rocky. I learned that it is better to do research then to wing it. Even though I worked through it, it does not have always end that way. One can simply not except the job. “There is nothing wrong with turning down a job that may be too difficult for your child to accomplish. Young babysitters may have a hard time dealing with special needs children, for example”
During this last century societal views towards women have drastically changed, from being looked at as a homemaker, to a businesswoman, to a mother, and now a working mother. One thing that hasn’t changed through the years is how women are critiqued for what they do and how they do it. If a woman takes care of the house she’s lazy and doesn't use her potential. If a women works in the office more than she’s at home she doesn’t connect with her family enough. The latest judgement women are facing: are working mothers better mothers. Today, women are being put against each other to be viewed as the “better mother” just by looking at their profession.
