Banquets and Confrenceing

The Catering Services industry has struggled during the past five years. Since 2008-09, a severe economic downturn has led businesses and households to spend less on catered events. Businesses faced with plunging profitability cut back sharply on catered events such as office parties, corporate seminars and product launches, and reduced average spend per head for events that did go ahead. The deteriorating consumer climate led consumers to put off discretionary events and choose to cater events themselves or spend less at a restaurant rather than use the industry 's services.

Corporate hospitality is a private event held by corporations and businesses to entertain and build good relationships with their staff and clients and to encourage new businesses. For example a company hires a venue such as the Hinitze Hall in the Natural History Museum which offers galleries for a range of evening events with catering facilities and staff which will be used only by the business team.

It was a cloudy night in November, it was the 2016 Legacy High School football banquet. There was catered Chipotle so the whole team was eating tons of food. It was the season that the bus crash happened. 4 coaches were hospitalized, and many many players were hurt. It was a tough season to play. The awards were being announced. In Future Farmers of America, parliamentary procedures make sure that proper business can be transacted during meetings. This is a procedure that no other organizations use to conduct meetings that is why it is such a diverse organization. During parliamentary procedures, only one item is addressed at a time courtesy is extended to everyone. Also, the rights of the minority are protected while the majority rules. In this diverse community, there is a yearly Chapter Banquet, which is the high light of the year. The Future Farmers of America invite sponsors for the corresponding chapter and all businesses in the community (Wal-Mart, Walgreens, McDonalds etc.). The Diners out Handbook by Alfred H. Miles discusses the dining during the 1920’s. The dining table should be one of the top priorities should be the number one place which should be organized. A well-organized table can be both simple and elegant for a dining experience. All that is needed is its white cloth, bright silver, and a shining glass to impress any individual during its time when there is not a party. The accessories of the table have to be exact such as the placement of each piece of silverware (spoons, forks, and knives). This was a key element of proper dining which also had proper appeal. The decoration of the food during this time was very unique. Things such as fruits were used during this time to make tall towers and make them masterpieces (decorations) for parties. It has been one year since I started to be a banquet server. The experience of working as a banquet server has helped me to appreciate people hard work around the tables serving their clients without complaining their exhaustion. According to Christa Titus, the author of “The Definition of a Banquet Server,” “A banquet server is a person who serves food and beverages to guests at an event.” The servers work at many special events such as graduation ceremony or wedding feast. Some of their duties are serving the ordered dishes, cleaning up the leftovers and assisting guests with their menu items. From my observation, this career is a low class job which pays a little amount of money for the life expenses alone. The workers are paid by hour but the wages in each country are varied.
