The scene begins with close up shots of Harvey and Rachel talking as he was about to be taken away to prison because he had revealed to the city that he was the true batman.
From this scene we were given an aerial view of the van driving. This lead on to a car chase between Batman, the police and The Joker's 18-wheeler.
This scene revealed to the audience the damage that the joker had done to the town, and giving the audience an assumption of what could possibly happen next. This kept the audience Intrigued to watch more as it created anticipation, and curiosity for the audience.
Christopher Nolan made this scene so impactful using many different film techniques.

So much was put into this film, a special effects technician was killed during a shooting stunt. Conway Wickliffe, was riding in the back seat of a Nissan 4x4 when the car crashed into a tree at 20mph. He had been leaning out of the window and operating a camera, which was shooting a stunt car travelling parallel to his vehicle. Wickliffe's death was the first in a number of incidents that led to talk of a so-called "Curse of Batman".
In conclusion, this scene was considerably the most dramatic and action packed scene In the entire movie. This scene was filled with many different editing, lighting and camera techniques, so much was imputed into the dark knight, Christopher Nolan directed this scene extremely well as he did with the rest of the film. I personally loved this scene
