Abstract:
Aim:
To investigate the Biodiversity of Wonga Point Rock Platform, through the following:
-Examining adaptations of the plants and animals for life of the rock platform
-Measuring abiotic characteristics of the rock platform
-Examining and comparing the richness of species in sub habitats on the rock platform
-Measuring the abundance and distribution of some molluscs and algae on the rock platform
During the investigation we undertook four fieldwork activities such as:
-Investigation of adaptations to life on a rock platform
-Abiotic Factors on and around the rock platform
-Species richness of Sub-habitats on the rock platform
-Distribution and Abundance of Selected Animals and Plants
It was found that the

Flora and Fauna Summary of
The sea and the shoreline have captivated Rachel Carson, in her essay, “The Marginal World”, where she writes about the spectacles found on beaches. Along where the sea and land meet, there will be bright-colored trash and sometimes treasures found. Carson looks past the trash and is willing to dig for her treasure in between the land and sea. Carson states that the treasure is “half hidden, descends into fissures and crevices, or hides under boulders.” (Pg.536, para.3). The shore, the place where sea and land coexist, hides many surprises and creates a world where Carson, as she visits the shoreline, “gains some new awareness of its beauty and its deeper meaning” (Pg.537, para.4). She mentions how this plethora of life creates a world, which she continues to learn more about every time she enters the “world”. Another location by the beach where Carson considers it to have “a revelation of exquisite beauty” (Pg.537, para.5) is a pool hidden beneath a cave. Hidden by the sea and rocks, and only
ROA’s situation is defined largely by recent financials. They have demonstrated year over year decline in revenue, profit, and net income since 2003 as demonstrated in Figure 1 (below). (MSN Money, 2008)
If you’re anything like me and you see this painting of “The Rock” by Peter Blume (1944), you may wonder what in the world is going on in the picture. At our first look, we see the obvious; the enormous rock Peter Blume placed right in the center. After looking at the scenery going on, I think that the placement and size of the rock is proportioned that way as a sign of it being significant. The way I see it, the monument plays an important role when it comes down to determining why there are so many things going on at once in the painting. With the comparison of the details of the hard working people to the broken rock, half built building, and the smoke, I will establish the reasons of why this picture shows both destruction and loyalty- and the ways destruction in this painting also results in uniting the people working.
1. Why does this film begin with a view of the clouds from the cockpit of an airplane? What might this image symbolize?
Quarry Rock is an amazing hike that everyone should try and do if they visit Vancouver, B.C. When I started hiking it felt like a crisp fall morning. The dew was shimmering in the brisk forest as I started walking. The ground was soft as the rain from the night before was still drying up. I came to a slim wooden bridge over a rushing river . The water was scrambling as if it had to be somewhere quickly. When the trail began getting skinny I leaned against a prickly cliff wall for balance. When i finally hand my footing i took my hand away from the cliff wall and it was covered with most dirt that was collected on it for the wall. I brushed my hands together and kept walking. As I hiked higher, the air got warm and the earthy
The Brukunga Mine site located 4 km north of Nairne, and 40 km east of Adelaide in the Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia mined iron sulfide minerals such as pyrite and pyrrhotite through open pit methods between the years 1955 and 1972. The mine was opened as a source of sulphur for the production H2SO4 to be used in the production of superphosphate fertiliser in 1955. After the closure of the mine in 1972 fresh sulfidic minerals were left exposed in the floor of the quarry, resulting in exposure to air, water and bacteria which oxidised the minerals and broke them down forming acid drainage. Acid metalliferous drainage (AMD), also known as acid mine drainage, is both an environmental and economic issue which impacts metal, coal and diamond
In Order to analyse the Distribution of C.brunneas and L.scobina, Year twelve Biology classes had to go down to the “ Sirens’ Rock” on the south coast of wellington. The Habitat is mainly rock but there are rock pools from when the high tide went down the water couldn’t get out. Chamapsipho brunnea or Brown Barnacle are a type of barnacle found in the mid-high tides parts of rocky shores. Brown Barnacle are also known as filter feeders so they feed off of algae and plankton. Brown Barnacle are not found in the low tide zones for this reason their shells can close off meaning that they can survive out of water longer by keeping water locked in their shells. Lepsiella Scobina or oyster borer are a predatory sea snail species. they feed off of barnacle and other prey they are found in the mid-high tide zones of rocky shores and not low tide. Oyster borer are frequently hidding in crevices to hide from predators. Oyster borer are not found in high tide but mid-low tides as they can not close their shells off completely
One of the world’s largest living structure, the Great Barrier Reef is biologically rich and diverse and is Australia’s most remarkable, valued and remarkable environmental resources (Australian government). As the world’s most comprehensive coral reef ecosystem, the Great Barrier Reef is a site of unparalleled natural beauty on the north-east coast of Australia (unesco).
Table Rock Lake, which spans around 43 to 52 thousand acres and nearly 800 miles of shoreline, has evolved into one of the most popular vacation spots for pleasure boaters, campers, fishermen, and water sports aficionados of all types. Situated in the spectacular and most popular leisure and entertainment destination of Branson, Missouri, Table Rock Lake will leave you spellbound. Let us see why Table Rock Lake real estate has surged in popularity in modern times.
Port Phillip bay is located south of Victoria, Australia and is made up of a total of 16 bays and hosts many beaches. It was founded by George bass in 1797 and has been a thriving part of Melbourne ever since, homed to the Bun wurrung tribe. The bay is relatively shallow with an average depth of 13 meters. It’s 264 km squared in length and a total of 1930 km squared in area. Its home to over 10,00 species that live along the sandy seafloor, seagrass beds and rocky reefs. Dredging first began in February 2008 to deepen the bay by 14 meters.
Jerusalem is much more than just another city on the map. It is the holy city where three Abrahamic religions originated. But more importantly, it is one of the three holiest places on earth, along with Mecca and Medina. The Dome of the Rock is known to be built around 691-692. There have been some disputes as to why the Dome of the Rock was built. The disputes have generally been between Muslim scholars who have their own reasons to believe why this sacred Dome was built, and there will always be doubts and differing opinions because it is hard to know exactly the reason or the cause that led to the Dome being built. Moreover, Grabar also discusses the purpose of the Dome and why it was chosen to be in the specific location that it is today, as well as the function of the Dome. In addition,
Anyone well acquainted with Blackstone Lake, would have noticed that Black Rock Island is not like any of the other 8 islands. Nor are its rocks like the mainland, even just across from it, a mere 30 m to the north. Whereas most the grey rocks around the lake are granite gneisses or the darker mafic rocks with the pinker ones having more feldspar, Black Rock Island is very black as its name reflects. They feel denser as well, and a close inspection, especially on the west or north west side has peculiar, crystal like, malformed hexagonal, pentagonal, quadrilateral and even triangular prisms. What is this island all about?

One coastal line I've always been in love with are the Cliffs of Moher on the west coast of Ireland. These breathtaking cliffs which have been featured in movies as well as on television, and is also a big tourist destination. What is it though that has created this phenomenal coast, and what has cause the waters of this coastline to behave the way they do?
Rocks are classified to make it easier on people to identify them in the future. This can be done by a numerous amount of ways. Each rock type has their own specific ways, but there are two distinct characteristics that apply to all. These are texture and composition. These two, along with many others helps to classify igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks.
