The world as we know it is facing a huge dilemma with the rise in obesity and un-active people. Steps need to be taken to fix these big problems every single day by everybody. While everybody plays a role in decreasing the number of health problems related to not enough physical activity, a personal trainer holds a little more responsibility. Personal trainers work with people to get them on the right path with exercise. They motivate, instruct, and design a program specific to their client’s needs (Fitness, 2014). An expiration date will be placed on the membership card, but you will be notified about 90 days before the expiration date, which must be submitted (About, n.d.). Included in the submission must be a fee (sum depends on the organization providing the certificate), along with Continuing Education Credits (CECs) (About, n.d.). “CECs are units of measure that provides evidence of your professional development through appropriate avenues for continuing education. CECs are required through all agencies that offer an accredited personal trainer certification program” (About, n.d.). Some organizations differ in the manner that certifications expire or are renewed, but this is how the NFPT does it. The future for personal trainers is looking pretty bright, as the field is projected to grow approximately 13% by 2022, which is as fast as the average occupation (Fitness, 2014). A total of about 7.2 billion dollars of income is generated by personal trainers annually throughout the nation (Personal, n.d.). In 2012, the median income for a personal trainer in the United States was about $31,720 annually, or $15.25 per hour (Fitness, 2014). Not being active can lead to many health complications such as diabetes, heart disease, some types of cancer, and other obesity related diseases. A personal trainer can make a huge impact on people in an effort to increase people’s lifetime fitness achievements. It’s important that personal trainers try to make an impact on their clients the best they can. Pushing them and working hard to implement the right exercises and lifestyle can change their lives forever. As a personal trainer, it’s essential that you stay positive and keep encouraging them to reach their goals. If all personal trainers work together to get people to transition into a healthier lifestyle with physical fitness, it can help alleviate the health crisis we’re facing right
