The reason why I became interested in Nursing and working my way to a Registered Nurse is because I work at CRMC as a EVS Aide and I work around Nurses. I get to see what they get to do, and how they get to help a patient’s stay at the Hospital be as pleasurable as they can. I work in all parts of the facility. I am most interested in working in the Hospital part of it all. I see Nurse’s cry, smile, and laugh during their shift and they get attached to the patient’s and do what they can to make them feel better, and make the patient, their family, and their friends comfortable during the stay. That is why I chose a Registered Nurse to pursue my future after High School.

Nurses need to understand a variety of topics while going to school, it takes someone who is dedicated to the job to remember everything they have learned and use it in tough situations. You also need to be gregarious. Gregarious people enjoy helping and comforting, and that is important when it comes to patients, but they can also make it through chaotic environments. Nurses play a lot of roles throughout their shifts, whether it is filling out paperwork and medical records, or providing care for the patients, being methodical helps when it comes to multitasking. Nurses who have optimistic dispositions can set a good mood for healing for the patients. It is hard to keep the patients happy but it is even harder when the Nurse has a negative perspective. Most importantly you need patience, not all patients follow their doctor’s orders. It takes a lot of patience for Nurses to help patients that will, or will not follow basic instructions they are given. The last thing is to be empathetic, Nurses see people in their worst states, Nurses that show empathy for their patients usually provide better
