The career of an RN interests me because I think it’s not something that I would be bored with, and I’ll always be learning new things on the job. The duties and responsibilities are providing direct patient care, presenting health information to large groups of people, performing emergency procedures, managing many other nurses in teaching hospitals and doing research in universities. IN order to become a registered nurse, of course, you must go through the proper schooling and training. A two year school offers programs that will let you become a registered nurse, as well as some four year schools. To become a registered nurse an individual must graduate from an approved school of nursing and pass a state exam. Nurses may receive a diploma from a hospital, school or nursing, an associate’s degree from a community college nursing program, or a bachelor’s degree from a four year

Another thing that draws me towards the career is the flexibility. A nurse is able to obtain a job in almost any state as long as they get the correct license for the state. Also, they are able to work in many different settings. A nurse can work in an office setting where the hours are set and they work a normal eight to five job. They are also able to work in a hospital setting, the hours differ when working at a hospital and some are required to work weekends and holidays. The physical demands for both setting would be different. Hospital settings would require lots of walking from room to room as well as running in certain emergency settings. In either setting though a nurse is required to be on their feet for long periods of time. It is not a job to where you would be stuck behind a desk.

I believe that Nursing is the perfect major where I can help people by caring for their health and which will ultimately affect them their whole lives. I believe a Nurse Practitioner is able to make such a difference in our lives because they are not just a Nurse but in a similar way like a Doctor. Nurse Practitioners are able to care more for the patients than a regular Nurse. Attending the UCLA School of Nursing will help me become a step closer to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. The school is very prestigious and ranked as one of the top nursing schools in the country and is conveniently around my area. I will be able to give back to my community after completing my degree. I will also get a high-level education and cause a positive impact in the healthcare system around my community. I will be able to develop skills that will help me be able to work in a variety of environments and assist those in need. People around the world would not be cared for, educated, and have emotional support during their injuries and their family member's injuries, if it was not for Registered Nurses. Registered Nurses need to genuinely have people skills in order to care for patients and their families. Registered Nurses need to educate people on health care and how to take care of themselves during injuries. The amount of RN's has been growing at a percentage of 19%, which is faster than average ("Registered Nurses: Occupational Outlook Handbook"). This is excellent because there are more Registered Nurses, therefore, there are more patients being cared for. Being a Registered Nurse requires an associates degree, specific qualities such as people skills and sympathy, and knowledge about medical care to be able to do the duties.

Registered Nurses have a lot of responsibilities and other jobs, the career I chose is a NICU Nurse. They work in the rooms with babies to monitor any complications, but mostly premature babies. I chose this career because I love babies and I would love to be the reason why a baby got better. This career will be a great fit for my life goals because I’ve always wanted to be a nurse and I love working with babies so why not put both the things I love into one.

Registered nursing is a great career because there are different opportunities, you help others and learn new things.

I have chosen the career of a registered nurse because they have one on one contact with a patient and are able to learn about the personality of them and form a relationship with the patients they care for. RNs are able to give care to patients in need and they are able to work in a variety of settings. They are able to specialize in different areas and work with a certain group of people. Personally I want to be a pediatric Rn and work to care for children. I find joy in children and caring for them would be a perfect fit for me.

When being a registered nurse, there are many things to do and a ton of responsibility, but there are a lot of benefits to gain from that. Also, when applying for a job to be a registered nurse, it doesn’t require very much.

Being a Nurse Practitioner is something I have always dreamed of becoming as kid. The enjoyment I will get caring for my patients at bed side is a dream come true. Honestly, I will be able to live a happy life once I become a Nurse Practitioner. As a Nurse Practitioner, I will have my own patients to care and medically treat on a daily basis. The income is three times the amount of an Image Data Specialist. Fortunately, I will have no problem supporting my family as a Nurse Practitioner in the future. Unlike my current job, I will be able to afford daycare for my son so my wife can do the things she enjoys with her time. Finally, the stress that comes with being a Nurse Practitioner is extremely high. As a Nurse Practitioner I am responsible for the prognosis and diagnosis of medical conditions for all of my patients. Also, I must be very accurate and knowledgeable with my practice in medicine. I find that becoming a Nurse Practitioner is best for me personally; however, I totally understand the stress level that comes along with the responsibility of a Nurse

Other than the fact that I want to be a nurse because it “runs in the family,” I want to be a nurse because of all of the opportunities it offers. Like I alluded to before, there is the availability to further my education. If I somehow find myself in an existential-life-crisis and decide that becoming a nurse anesthetist is not the right path for me, I could become a nurse practitioner, for example. There’s not just one option, and that’s ideal for someone like me who changes her mind all the time.
