Individuals must learn to overcome their fear in order for it to become a distant memory. People need to accept and face obstacles in order to achieve the greater goal of empowering. Humans must stand up to tough challenges and dedication. People must learn to accept the fact that there will be times that humans are going to fall a thousand times. But the most important thing is that everytime individuals fall, humans learn from our mistakes to stand up stronger than the last time. Failing is not a pleasant feeling in the world, but there’s no other way around it then to learn from it and to get back up again. From our experiences, humans learn what to do and what not to the next time people try it again. In this world, humans must be able to get out of their comfort zone and fight against their will to give up in order to deepen their understanding of the world.

In “Before I got my eye put out,” the author explains how she must adapt to the new changes when she loses her vision and realizes the how eyesight was a gift by saying, “But were it told to me Today that I might have the sky… The meadows mine the mountains mine all forests sintless stars as much of noon as I could take between my finite eyes” (Dickinson 5-13). The following quote shows how the ability to see can be a key factor in individuals daily life, but without it, people must discover new ways of living off without their vision. Also, in “We Grow Accustomed to the Dark,” humans adapt to the darkness and change by saying, “For newness of the night then fit our vision to the dark and meet the road erect” (Dickinson 6-8). This quote shows how people are used to the sunshine and when they do not have it before dawn, individuals must adapt to the pitch dark and new changes throughout
