I started reading the New York Times article, how to Live Wisely. It surprisingly related a lot to my own life. This article made me consider if I am actually doing what I love. As I answered what my goals are, I kept in the back of my head what I want my future to in store.

As a college student I expect myself to accomplish all work with the best of my abilities. There is no point in doing work that isn’t your best work. I also expect myself to dream big and try new things. College is all about finding what you love to do. Even though I am very content with my life and trying new things can be difficult, breaking out of your norm and trying new things can help better yourself.
For my overall college education there are many goals I hope to achieve besides just a college degree. First off, I hope to have a great education and learning experience throughout college. I also would like to grow a reputation for myself that can help me in a positive way in the future. I hope to be more involved in leadership and throughout Iowa State University. At the end of my college education, I hope to have many opportunities for a career and my future.
Even though there are many years till I am out of college, I still have many goals that I hope to achieve in my future. One of my goals is obviously to be successful and be happy with the career I pursue. I also hope to be happy with the choices I have so far made and continue to make positive decisions. One of my goals I have always wanted to achieve was having a great reputation for myself and being an inspiration to other people. I want to somehow make an impact on other
When I first started college, my academic goals were to learn as much as possible, join a Christian fellowship, get into the criminal justice program, decide whether or not to go to graduate school, and to graduate in four years. In addition, to also to either get a job or get accepted into an internship. My overall goal was to enjoy and make the most out of my college experience. My career goals back when I was a freshman, were to figure out if I want to join law enforcement or go to law school and find a job in the field of criminal justice, while being happy working the job. Over the course of two years, some of those goals have been achieved and some goals have been changed.
While in college I hope to achieve academically, growing in all ways possible. In the writing aspect I will learn how to write more clearly and more fluently, I will be able to describe fully what I see and feel while journaling. While learning new writing skills I also hope to improve on the skills I already have. Becoming more expressive with all of my writing I feel is very important, improving on that will flourish my writing. I will improve my mindset with my writing and academics, not over thinking on assignments. In general I will improve in all things I already know and do. To develop these new and improved skills I need to take advantage of all
My goals include finishing high school, then moving on to college. After completing college with a high GPA I plan to teach for two years and take master classes in order to receive my counseling degree and furthermore impact others’ lives around me. After completing these dreams I hope to settle down and begin a family of my own. I think that all of our decisions we make now will affect us in the future and that is another reason why I have to goal I do. I want to be a wonderful example to my children. I want them to see that education is valuable and if I can do it then they can to. I want them to succeed in every way possible and if I demonstrate determination now then it will transfer on to their lives and maybe you never know they will be the next Thomas Jefferson or Susan B. Anthony. My goal for higher education is tremendous. Not only will a higher education be an example to my children. It will allow me to continue learning throughout my whole life. There is one simple answer to what being successful in school truly means to me. To be successful, I would have to gain as much knowledge and skills that I can to be able to utilize it in my future endeavors. I want to be able to show my brains in a non-letter form. If I was to barely pass all of my classes but have obtained all of the intellect necessary, I would feel extremely proud of the four years spent in secondary education. No employer looks at the exact letter grades you held. They look for skill, determination, and brilliance. College is nothing like high school for the reason that in high school you can memorize numbers, phrases, or the answers, quickly take the test while
This semester has flew by a lot faster than I anticipated. The akron experience has taught me quite a bit that has helped me in many different areas. Being successful in college to me means to organize and manage all the parts of your life so that you are content. College is alot to keep track of and managing this and the rest of your life is the main thing that will keep you going so you are able to take breaks. Without breaks you will get burned out and I learned this pretty fast. I would say I was successful this semester even if my grades weren't exactly where I wanted them I am getting the feel for the whole experience.
Being successful in college is not as difficult as some people think it is. With the proper preparation and observation, the student can be well-organized weeks ahead of when their classes will be scheduled to start. Not everyone is considered a highly organized individual and sometimes unexpected things happen to us all. It is important to keep a positive attitude, research, and speak with your instructors and various other staff members when needed in order to solve a dilemma. It all boils down to what the problem you are facing is. For myself, my EOPS appointment had been four days before classes were supposed to start and after taking a one-hour bus ride to the college about thirty minutes before my appointment was scheduled my phone rang.
My goals for completing college couldn't be done without hard work. It may be a struggle but I know in the end it will be worth it. I will graduate and start a new career path in life. They say that nothing in life comes to us easily. I’m just thankful to be at a college centered around God. So, with that in mind and by the grace of God, I believe I can accomplish anything! Just have to put my mind to it and go for the
I always make a promise to myself if you can achieve this goal set yourself a higher, push yourself harder be smarter, don't stop here god gave you a purpose here on earth either you use it, or you lose it everyday you wake up god gave you another day of life to do things better then you did yesterday. Everyday I wake up I follow that motto god gave you another day to do better then you did yesterday. I hope to get out of attending college socially, academically, socially, creativity, and personally is I hope to become more open and outgoing learning to be more comfortable with others. I hope to get knowledge not only for my career goal but also for life it self. I want to become more creative with my ideas learn to open up and express my thoughts with others and not just keep everything to myself, I feel I be having great ideas but I chose to keep things to myself I hope to overcome that, and something personally I really don't have nothing personal to overcome. MY goals to get out of this class is to get helped more with learning teach meomething I don't know or just something I want to
College is not about the content in the course it is about the tasks at hand from the course. Everyone who goes to college has struggled with the early classes the late-night paper cramming and the finals horror week. College is a tremendous amount of effort and work. According to the article Top Eleven Reasons Why College Students Drop Out: Don’t let it happen to you states that “Attributing to their overall stress, students who graduate high school and go straight into college find that the workload is more than they expected.” (Pivik 1) It’s difficult to go into a university or just any college level classes prepared and ready for all the outrageous tasks. College is not just a walk in the park, it takes self-determination,
Success has multiple meanings for some students in college. If you ask them what success means to them, most of the time you will get the “money” answer. Personally, I think being successful in college is when you are able to apply what you learn in school into your daily life. You also cannot just be successful; you have to work hard to get to the point you defined as successful.
I know that college will be difficult for me because of time management, lack of support, and the challenging classes. I am a mother of seven children, and six grandchildren whom I have devoted my life to for many years. Now it is time for me to shine. Managing time is very hard for me because it takes up most of the day. I have to car pool my daughter to basketball games, and take my son back and forth to work. My husband also demands my attention and help, because he is older now and cannot do a lot of things on his own. He comes home from work at night and expects dinner to magically appear on the table and house work to automatically be done. Finally once everything is done, it is then eight already and I still have to get the things left that I need to do before school like finish homework, study for tests, and then have myself in bed before eleven. In order to become a successful college student I will have to overcome my challenges. I would like to finish college and major in nursing which is my number 1 goal in life.
Above all, my personal goals are to learn as much as I can and make my family and myself proud of what I’ve accomplished. I’ve realized that college is a great opportunity to further my education and I want to take advantage of that by taking in as much knowledge as possible. The reason for this goal is to know that I did the very best I could when I graduate college. Not only will that make me proud but it will make my family proud too. Staying motivated, focused, and determined is going to be the key to
