Being straightforward and honest with others may be more simpler than being honest with yourself. We read articles, books, and magazines that always talk about a certain character, this character is described in many different ways, we learn their likes, their struggles, their achievements, etc. Wouldn’t it be much simpler to just take a book about ourselves and read it. Later analyze the text and write notes on our self and see how we react to certain situations or how we learn better. This would be great to have because it would help me learn about myself which can sometimes be harder than learning about someone else. It would help me be successful because it can guide me in the right way, like take the right decision, study the right way. Thankfully, there are people out there who test human personality, thanks to online and in-text tests about personality help us figure out how we learn best and how we are to react to a certain situation. Knowing this will help me work better with myself when assigned a certain task. Spatial, visual, and tactile, just a few of the results that were given to me after taking many tests. A total of four tests were taken the first was one found in-text in a book used in class. In the first test it was about learning styles, after answering all the questions, I primarily fell into the category of being a visual/graphic learner, but fairly close was tactile/kinesthetic and auditory/verbal. These results from the first test was really
When I took the learning preference quiz I had the highest score in tactile or kinesthetic learning. I had a 14 in tactile learning and 13 in both visual and auditory learning. I was not surprised by the top result from the quiz. I learn best hands on and prefer not to just read information. I was sort of surprised when it had visual and auditory tied for second. I would much rather listen to something being read rather than read it. I am dyslexic and when I must read information alone, I have a hard time comprehending. I think overall, because the quiz said I had a kinesthetic learning preference, that it was accurate. When listening to a lecture or reading information I often take notes to remember. I do not look back at the notes often,
Before taking the Learning Style Inventory, I always felt I was mostly a tactile learner. I would be able to learn in a visual fashion if need be, but I would rather learn and by doing and making mistakes. After taking the Learning Style Inventory, the results definitely supported my initial thoughts. My tactile preference was 14 points higher than my auditory score, but only 2 points higher than my visual. Although I believe I will always will be a stronger tactile learner, my visual learner skills have been improving throughout my college learning experience. Plus, it’s important to note that many tactile learning situations are dependent on visual learning. This means that tactilely learning has been strengthening my visual learning skills.
I always thought I was more of a visual learner and more hands-on learner than a verbal learner
After taking the learning styles assessment it was found that I am a visual learner most of all followed by tactile and auditory. This meaning that I like to see what I am learning, I am able to understand things and later recall what I have seen. I honestly have to say that I do not agree with these results; I say that because after reading and just knowing how I am, I believe my best type of learning is through tactile, I have been this way since elementary school. When you are a tactile person you like to learn and pick up the information best through touching and doing things, you are very hands-on. Versus someone who is a visual learner just needs to see it or read it. Some of the characteristics a tactile person has is completely me; such as I am always doing something, I like to be hands on, when I talk I move my hands sort of like I am trying to act out what I am saying, I always have my legs going or am swaying side to side, like flashcards to study with, and am always chewing gum.
According to Fleming (2001): ‘People can be grouped by different learning styles, visual, aural, read/write and kinaesthetic.’

Fleming (2005) stated that people can be grouped into four styles of learning: (Gravells, 2012), Visual, Aural, Read / Write and Kinaesthetic (VARK), with Honey and Mumford (1992) suggesting that learners are a...
Some students may be a combination of these sensory modalities making them a multimodal learner. Over 60% percent of learners fall into the multimodal learner category (Fleming & Mills, 2011). Learners in this category may switch from each of their learning strengths to fit the situation or presentation of
In Brave New World the leaders main priority is to ensure that everyone is content with their lives. Instead of focusing on honesty, everyone chooses to avoid the truth at all costs. Brave New World suggests that we should focus on other things, such as honesty, and less on happiness. It warns of the dangers of constantly needing to be happy which takes away from the full range of emotions that make us human. How much do we truly know about ourselves? Have you ever wondered how much you know about how others view you? This struck me with great interest, so I took a series of tests to see what personality I have, if I have a sleeping disorder, what level of self-esteem I have, and if I have borderline personality disorder. The test results seemed to be reading me like a book. The realities whether I want choose to accept it is the test results are amazingly accurate.
Learning is a unique process that differs from individuals due to the style in which they learn. Learning style refers to visual, kinesthetic, and auditory routes, which are the three perceptual pathways or modalities of learning (Miller & Stoeckel, 2011, p.155). The visual pathway involves sight, and how an individual benefits best through visual stimulation such as reading, pictures, movies, etc. (Miller & Stoeckel, 2011, p. 155). A kinesthetic learner, which focuses on body, sensation, and motion, benefits most from hands-on activities that include field-trips, computer assisted instruction, or models (Miller & Stoeckel, 2011, p. 155).
I am also a tactile learner. I love playing hand games. I can tell what most things are just by touching them. I can tell if their is something around me. If I'm up at night I can tell where everything is in the dark. I love playing in wet sand and play doh. I love things you can stick together and easily pull apart. Even though I am a tactile learner I am still a butter fingers when it comes to my phone.
After taking the inventories and looking at the results, I believe the following. I believe that the inventories may not be one hundred percent accurate; however, they may pick up on tendencies that are accurate. Before taking the assessments, I believed that I was a visual and a kinesthetic or hands on learner. I thought that I was a more hands on or kinesthetic learner and I would have thought that visual was my second learning preference. Upon reading the results of the inventories, I found that visual learning may be a stronger learning preference. I believe that these inventories are pretty true to my learning style preferences.
Throughout history humans have both depended on and struggled with both manmade and religious beliefs. Beliefs of which have allowed our understandings of life, power, and civilization. Stories of Gilgamesh written by Herbert Mason, Sophocles Antigone, and Thucyides by Paul Woodruff date back from as early as 420 BC. These stories demonstrate the meaning of life and the purpose of civilization. Civilizations of which, have been built around justice. The best type of person is an admirable one. The capability to learn lessons and gain mental and physical strength while undergoing a hardship is what it means to be admirable. An admirable person is able to act with justice because they have gone through hardships and have evolved their character to be self-aware
A) I expected to get artistic, creative and investigative as my results on surveys that I took, because I already knew I had these traits as a part of my personality. However, the results from my learning styles survey were a little surprising to me. I got visual as my highest total score, while kinesthetic and auditory were almost balanced out scores. The reason why I was a little surprised was that last year, I took a survey to figure out my learning style, and I got both auditory and visual learner. The results have their little differences, but that shows people do change over time. Learning styles can be learned and strengthened.
