Vygotsky and Piaget theories can apply to an Early Childhood classroom simply because most of their theories will benefit the teachers to use in their classroom. Vygotsky’s scaffolding is when teacher to show guidance towards their students so the students can have the ability to comprehend and think on their own. Solving problems and solution is a boundless to use in the classroom especially if the teachers need and want the children to prepare themselves for the real world. Piaget’s theory has the four stages of Cognitive ability. Thus it will benefit the teacher to use when they are observing the child thinking abilities with proper use of the assessment and difference of the child’s age. For an example if the teacher is teaching two years old she would want to look for make believe play, when a child likes to pretend they are a character from movie or book this stage is call Preoperational Stage. Teachers should observe the activities when the child is pretending to be Queen Elsa or Princess Anna.
More people than ever before are attending college due to the endless opportunities that it provides. Louis Menand, a college professor and the author of “Live and Learn: Why We Have College,” explains the meaning of college through three theories that have been developed. Theory 1 supports the idea of the sorting-out process that separates the highly intelligent from the less intelligent. Menand’s second theory explains that college provides opportunities for developmental growth, personal growth, and teaches individuals about the world around us. These are valuable lessons that will not be learned anywhere else. Theory three supports the idea of people attending college to specialize in a specific vocation. I
In 1888, Jane Addams and her good friend Ellen Gates Starr went on a trip to visit a settlement house in London called Toynbee Hall. Toynbee Hall had many, many activities that people were able to participate in. Additionally, it was located in one of the
The theories of Howard Gardner and Urie Bronfenbrenner are at the heart of my educational philosophy. I firmly believe in Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory, and his perspective that everyone has their own individual learning style. This is important to know, especially when working with children. Understanding how each child learns best and the way they process information provides teachers with a unique viewpoint into each student and allows for opportunities to teach in a way that fosters many benefits for everyone. Using Gardner’s theory as a basis for my teaching, allows me to plan meaningful, curriculum and create a classroom environment that encourages success for each child and their families. Following the ideals of Bronfenbrenner will allow me to see who the child is, and what his or her influences are. Knowing the traditions and culture the child comes from, will give me a better understanding of their life experiences and the belief system of their family.
Ben Hall had a reputation as a hard-working upright citizen, well respected and who was liked by all, soon a dark shadow emerged in the Wheogo district that would change the dynamics of the serene farming communities when the well-known bushranger, Frank Gardiner also known as 'The Darkie', the scourge of the NSW police and the man singularly responsible for the ruination of many a young colonial boy, commenced using the Wheogo district as a harbourage. Frank Gardiner had formed an intimate relationship with Ben Hall's sister-in-law Catherine Browne nee Walsh, Bridget Hall's younger sister, 18yrs of age, who resided with her husband John Browne in a hut a short distance from the Wheogo homestead, Gardiner was 14 yrs Catherine's senior.
Bushranging, now Ben Hall's bread and butter saw events continuing to turn from bad to worse. John Wilson, the new owner of Sandy Creek by default, was unhappy with Susan Prior and Susan Prior's mother Mary Prior and others still residing in Ben Hall's former home and sought to have them evicted. The final straw in the breaking of Ben Hall was now played out when Sir Frederick Pottinger destroyed by burning, Ben Hall's former home to the ground leaving the woman and the mother of his daughter, Mary, remaining there homeless. A friend of Wilsons who used the pseudonym of 'Veracity' wrote to the editors of the Sydney newspapers expressing his wholehearted support for the action's of Sir Frederick Pottinger to rid the Wheogo area of the bushrangers

Since the capture of Daley and the burning of Hall's old home, Ben Hall's whereabouts were continuing to frustrate Sir Frederick Pottinger, who was throwing all of his resources into finding Ben Hall's haunts, gleaning any information, no matter how insignificant. The last report of Hall was in company with Susan Pryor, who it would seem was escorted to the Fish River district were the gang through Gilbert had friends and family and where Susan Pryor and the child could reside in the short term or may even have moved possibly further north to Wellington, as Mary's birth was believed to have been registered there in late March 1863, after which Susan returned to Lambing Flat. Wilson it is believed instructed Sir Frederick Pottinger, a close friend to remove the existing families and set Ben Hall's home to the torch, the legality of this action is still 150 yrs later questionable?. Wilson was also suspected of operating as the eyes and ears for Sir Frederick Pottinger in the Wheogo district and in conjunction with Ben Hall's participation in the episode of the capture of Inspector Norton, would see Sir Frederick be merciless towards Ben Hall and anyone suspected or found to provide shelter, as a consequence Susan Pryor and Mary Prior were given seven days notice by Wilson thru Pottinger to vacate the property, this order came in mid-March of 1863 with the Hut finally burnt out between 18th and 23rd March
In Martha Stout’s essay “When I Woke Up Tuesday Morning, It Was Friday”, she discusses how a person who has suffered a traumatic experience is most likely to dissociate their individual self from that situation and block it from their mind completely. This form of a solution allows the person to forget the experience and not feel the pain. In “Immune to Reality” Daniel Gilbert describes how every human being contains a psychological immune system, which works to shield us from horrible experiences that threaten our happiness. When experiencing a traumatic event, the psychological immune system responds by “cooking up the facts”, meaning taking the facts of the situation and turning the negative aspects of it into positive views. At first
The first theory that stood out to me while watching Room 237 was the connection between the movie and the Apollo Moon Landing. This theory is that the movie is somehow revealing that the Apollo Moon Landing was fake and was filmed on a soundstage. To me, this theory was the most believable out of all of the theories that were shown because of all the evidence that is shown. This theory was the most believable to me because of all the evidence that was shown.
Theory is a journey to uncover the past and improve the future. By uncovering and analyzing a discipline’s theoretical journey, insight and self-awareness are gained. According to Meleis (2012), “Theories are reservoirs in which related knowledge is articulated and organized into meaningful wholes” (p.33). By implementing and analyzing theories, empowerment and guidance for the future is obtained.
Nursing theories can be categorized considering their levels of perception, and the literature mentions that there are two kinds of concepts: grand theories and middle-range theories. Whether concepts are grand or mid-range (MR), we establish corrective intellectual and influence practice and investigation. By description, grand concepts are theoretical, complex, and detached from practice. We are not destined to be simply grasped or experienced. Associated with grand theories, MR theories enclose less perception and interactions, are adjustable to an extensive range of practice and knowledge, can be made from numerous sources, and are solid enough to be experienced. For these reasons, MR principles are predominantly persuasive as nursing science statements the encounters of the 21st period.
