The tales of family betrayal, revenge, and reunited in one movie called Ben Hur. There are many versions of this movie, but this revue will be on the 1959 version directed by William Wyler and the cinematography Robert Surtees, and the 2016 version directed by Timur Bekmambetov and the cinematography Oliver Wood. In both movies a higher class Jewish family called Ben Hur from the biblical time. Got arrested by their adopted son Messala who is in the Roman army. Base in an attack on the Roman emperor Caesar. That Judah Ben Hur took the blame for in both movie to spare someone else, and his revenge against his brother Messala for condemning him to the galley and his own family to something much worse than death. I'll be taking and comparing both the 1959 and 2016 Ben Hur movies on it's special effects and the setting that they used in both movies. The reason for analysing both sittings and special effects in the two different versions is because they mainly work hand to hand with each other in movies. The sitting in a movie is really important, it's what makes a movie seems realistic. For the 1959 version they actually went to Egypt and built over 300 sets to have the whole movie cast on. On the other hand, the 2016 version didn't make their …show more content…
Special effects are something the 1959 version did not use as much as the 2016 did. Like the background characters in the 1959 had to get a real person, while the 2016 had digital people for some of the background character. One big special effect that the 2016 version did was the whole chariot race every racer and chariot was digitally designed and put in. While the 1959 had to have real horses and human risking their life. That's why special effects are so important in today's movies because they can have a digital object to do dangerous things instead of real people, and do cool
The original episode, has old technology and the newer episode has more advancements in the episode. In the 1960 version has old phones, old radios, push mowers, old guns, and much more although the 2002
had to make do with what he had so he was forced to film a small group of people crowded together multiple times to create the feeling of a large crowd. He also had to ask Stallone to re-write some scenes because of their lack of funds for extras and equipment. This acted as a way
In the story of hunger games and star wars there hero's journey had many differences and similarities. Some examples of this could come from the Ordinary world, Refusal, and Mentor/Helper.
The story line of a film can be regarded as an important criterion when selecting an audience’s preference. Yes, the plot is critical when it comes to sitting still for 2-3 hours straight. However, the excellence of that, sparks from daring and theatrical ideas that directors build on through detailed and carefully constructed forms of art. Mis-en scene forms the basis of a films captivating ability, which can be furthered through auteuristic skill that a director projects. It is a combination of these key forms of art that allow us, as an audience to grasp exactly what it is we are viewing, and why we find ourselves fighting that mid movie urge for a bathroom break.
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Disney, the movie, has a distinct plot escalation, the original from Mark Twain doesn't include this.
Though the book Lord of the Flies by William Golding and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain may not seem to have much in common, there is more than meets the eye. Lord of the Flies is a story about a group of boys who get in a plane crash on an island. They try to create a civilization at first, but eventually the boys become barbaric and everything turns to chaos. The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn is a story about a boy named Huckleberry Finn. He is tired of his life and of his abusive father who beats him every day, so he sneaks away from his home, fakes his death, and floats down the Mississippi River with a runaway slave named Jim.
To make the movie more current and appealing to today’s audiences, it seemed like the creators
In the year 1885, Mark Twain published one of his famous classic novels The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. It was the book that marked the beginning of American literature and eventually, a film was produced. Between the book and the movie, there are differences as well as similarities. A few points of comparison and contrast in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is missing scenes, added scenes, and characters’ personalities.
In the movie Ben Hur and one adaptations of the novel there is a lot to be compared and contrasted. Both of the stories of course have the same story line ,but the small details are different. For example, in the adaptation Arrius dies soon after he gives the ring and belongings to Judah ,but in the movie Arrius stays alive and Judah later gives the ring to Pilot to give back to Arrius. That is just one way that they are different. There are more differences the similarities though it is the same story line. Is this adaptation it shows that many people go through trails and God was watching over you, Like when Judah was rescued by Arrius from the galleys. It was testing his faith.
Also a difference between the two films was seeing Jesus face. In the 1995 film you never saw his face not even at the crucifixion. I don't like that in the new film showing his face and introducing him early along in the show really made the story so much better you felt more emotion about it. In the 1995 version he really wasn't around much but in the new one he really showed about forgiveness and I feel it really made the film
Ben Hur Movie Comparison The two movies are both called Ben Hur, the first was produced in 1959. Directed by William Wyler and cinematography by Robert Surtees. The actor for Judah Ben Hur in this movie was Charlton Heston, the actor for Messalla was Stephen Boyd. The remade movie, made in 2016, was directed by Timur Bekmambetov and cinematography by Oliver Wood.
Ben Hur and Jacques both demonstrated courage and loyalty. But they were also different. While Jacques changed from being a bitter, revengeful and prideful man into a Godly and wise man, Ben-Hur was steadfast in his trust in God and his desire to find his mother and sister. Jacques also lost his mother and father, while Ben-Hur found his mother and sister. Nevertheless, these two characters, both demonstrated character qualities that we should learn from.
Both stories coming from the same age and region even the two main characters, Ben-Hur and Jesus Christ, the two characters experienced betrayal, conviction, persecution and redemption. Even though, they experienced this all, still it’s the love that matters for their family and they don’t care if they were on a hard situation. It’s just the story of Jesus Christ ended differently for Jesus Christ is the One that saves mankind from eternal sin foe he is Our God, Our Savior but beyond that it still portrays the true meaning of love which is selflessness, that God sacrifices Himself for
In 2015 the visual effects are amazing but imagine back then. Some special effects needed crazy computers to create explosions, lasers, and more. Special effects used were explosions, morphing, lasers, water splashes, and many to count. Some costumes were needed to be used for special effects like a gorilla mask so the camera can morph it to a human being. Costumes were not really used as much as humans were the most used in the movie and some aliens used metallic like costume to resemble the future. Putting more humans will limit the cost of the film but create more drama and scenes for the entire
The setting of a theatre almost always consisted of stadium style seating with the acts at the bottom and in the middle. Most plays were open to the public and people were allowed to sit wherever they wanted. However, important officials and officers usually sat near the front. Their seats were usually made out of stone to show high status, and the rest were made out of wood. Like many theatres today, these consisted of the left and right wings, the main floor, a backdrop which was more or less a curtain, and an orchestra section.
