Bernie Sanders for President
The upcoming presidential election has been highly controversial with many promising candidates, but one has stood out the most, Bernie Sanders. Bernie Sanders is easily described as what you see is what you get. He has fought for the same rights in the 1980s that he is fighting for now while most seem like common sense they haven’t been changed for a significant amount of time. Supporting Bernie Sanders for president in the 2016 election shows a forward looking approach in our nation because he supports income and wealth equality, eliminating the cost of secondary education, and supports a limited foreign policy; however, he is at a disadvantage due to his old age.
One problem that Bernie will take head on is the income and wealth gap our nation faces. Currently the United States is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, but the vast majority of the wealth is in the smallest percent of the people. Since the 1980s there was a shift in the economy from the middle class having the largest percentage of wealth to them having the lowest. While increasing the national minimum wage Sanders will also add millions of more jobs by investing $1 trillion dollars into our country 's infrastructure needs. With the implementation of these new jobs he will also attempt to require businesses to provide at least three
