Take a moment and think "where would the world be today without engineers?" Engineers are very important to the world, without engineers there would be no roads, no houses, no cell phones; we would be in essentially prehistoric times. There's is a large demand for engineers now and in the future; in biomedical engineering, it is predicted that there will be a 62% increase in biomedical engineering positions from 2010-2020, and the average job increase 14% from 2010-2020 (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math: Education for Global Leadership). There aren't very many women in the engineering field making a women engineer more enticing; in fact, only 14% of engineers are women (Crawford). I want to become a biomedical engineer to change the world and how it thinks, and I will do that using the skills I learned through robotics. …show more content…
When our launcher was not working, my partner and I spent 20 hours fixing things trying to figure out what was wrong. Robotics requires you to be self motivated. Another thing it taught me was how to speak up, in robotics you have to get in front of groups of people, present your ideas, and look confident. Lastly, it taught me about the engineering design process. The engineering design process can be used for any type of problem solving. All of these things are very important things to have in your toolbox for life. Through all these lessons, I have had fun and learned valuable skills, and that is what robotics is all about. I have the critical thinking skills, teamwork skills, work ethic, and the ability to persevere. Additionally, I have learned how to work as a minority and still have my voice heard. I will forever owe a great debt of gratitude to my 5th grade science and math teacher, Mrs. Donna Lindley, for introducing me to the STEM world. Mrs. Lindley is a truly exceptional teacher who somehow managed to stimulated a desire for learning in the mind of a 10 year old boy who's primary goal in life was to pre-order the upcoming version of "Pokemon" to play on his Gameboy. Mrs. Lindley organized and supervised the St. Thomas Episcopal Grammar School's robotics team and made sure my older brother and I were involved with this extracurricular program. I began to build robots with Mrs. Lindley in the "Junior FIRST Lego League" (Jr. FLL) where small, computer programmable, robots were re-designed each year to accomplish new and different tasks.

Psychosis is a mental illness that may be related to other mental health issues. This condition is triggered by drugs of abuse, alcoholism and several disease conditions. This suggest that numerous pathological devices within the brain are shared by individuals affected by these conditions. One of the pathological features of psychosis is hallucination which may involve seeing, hearing, smelling or tasting something that is not present. Another pathological feature is delusional thinking or believing something that is not real or true. Delusions may manifest and display in two forms, paranoid delusions or delusions of grandeur.
Robotics is a rather large field with limitless capabilities, but there is one place in particular that robotics can have the highest impact, and that is security. Securing our military bases , be it forward operating bases, outposts, or even our garrison areas have become a major issue over the last decade and countless lives have been lost in doing so but with the use of robotics we can make it safer. Using robotics in base security will allow the United States Army to make massive changes in force employment and the Signal Corps already has the tools necessary to make this happen with a little help from the outside world.
Vacation is a period of recreation, one spent away from home. My family and I take our vacations in the summer when school ends because I do not like missing work that I will have to make up in school. I adore ending school in June and then contemplating where I am going to spend my summer vacation. Every year, my parents take my siblings and I to Disney World in Florida, but this year we decided to travel somewhere divergent. We all decided to stay in Florida and go to a captivating area called Port Saint Lucie. We stayed at a location called Club Med, which includes a resort and many activities for people of all ages to do like volleyball, tennis; you name it. You can have a robot help you with your daily activities such as cleaning your room, washing your car, and even wiping for you once you are done using the bathroom. A robot is a machine designed to complete or carry out multiple tasks when programmed to do so. Robots play a huge role in discovery, such as Mars Curiosity Rover, that is used to observe Mar’s surface and environment. We have used Robots to study the moons surface to see what it is like and to learn more about space. We use robots today in military by using them to disarm bombs and find enemy locations. Robots will have a positive impact on our future, because robots will help us to discover more in the ocean and space, help us save lives, and aid in the military.
