Cosmetic surgeries have developed greatly in the past 100 years. Enlarging the natural size of breasts has been in a top trend since the great age, with the exception of a few brief periods in history, in which it was frowned upon. Back in the day uplifting brassieres and corsets were used to enhance and perceived the size of breasts to be larger. MRIs may not be covered by insurance. Over the course of a woman's life, these MRIs may cost more than the original implant surgery. As if going under anesthesia wasn’t already at a high risk, going under anesthesia while having your body fight off a foreign substance can cause some complications as well. Having to cut over already scarred tissue means when a surgeon stiches a patient back up more scare tissue will grow, not on the surface of the body but internally, this can cause damage to many organs and systems within the body depending where the implant is inserted. It is suggested to patients undergoing surgery to have implants inserted to have them removed and renewed every 10 years, but after only 5 years rapture of implants from slight bums or movements increase. So breast implants are nearly a permanent solution at all. On average breast implants cost anywhere from $2000 to $5000, having to keep repairing these implants could easily cost a patient’s $8000-$10,000 after 10 years of having implants. My personal issue regarding implants and the risk that comes with is that there is no rules in forced to insure surgeons are telling their patients the effects implants can have, in fact 70% of the patients interviewed by the FDA admitted to not fully being told about the complications breast implants would have on their life. Not only is silicone implants a issue, but most patients don’t know about the risks that come along
