Abstract
We have all heard of the saying “sticks and stones, may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”. This statement couldn’t be further from the truth today. Mankind has had a long history with violence with one clear goal in mind, and that is to obtain power and authority. There are many different types of violence, one of them is bullying. We live in a time where bullying at school is becoming more of an issue than ever before. Statistics show that the age group that bullying most affects kids is between 12-18 years old. Social Bullying
This is kind of where bullying can start, but can also be difficult to recognize, and usually common among girls. Gossip is used to spread rumors, they will use relationships to hurt others, humiliate and damage reputations.
Social bullying can really take a toll on a student’s mental and emotional wellbeing. Therefore, getting to know your student and being present in their lives is important.
Verbal Bullying
Verbal bullying is the most common form of bullying. A bully will make rude, offensive, and demeaning comments to another student. This is either done to their face but also behind some ones back.
