After parking, visitors are required to check in at the office for safety, but when you walk into the office, in a cozy corner of the building, you are greeted by the secretaries and their pleasant smiles. As we move away from the office and down the hall, classrooms are situated in a circular fashion with the library at the center, giving a centralized meeting point for the school. Medomak Valley High School, located in Waldoboro, ME, is the only high school in Maine School Administrative District #40 and serves students from Friendship, Waldoboro, Warren, Washington, and Union in midcoast Maine. For decades, the school district had two middle schools - A.D. Gray Middle School, which served students from Friendship and Waldoboro, and D.R. In the fall of 2008, the year I started at Medomak Valley High School, the district opened Medomak Middle School to serve all seventh and eighth grade students in the district and closed A.D. Gray Middle School and D.R. Gaul Middle School. The new middle school was built at the Medomak Valley High
The desk arrangement in the classroom will be flexible. Desks will be arranged into various formats to align with the intended learning objectives of a lesson. Desks may be placed in groups to promote collaboration and cooperation. They may be organized in a peanut formation to promote student-student and student-teacher discussion.
To set the demographics, Lacy Elementary School is a 60-year-old neighborhood school. Originally built to accommodate 500 students, the school is now over capacity, reaching a high enrollment of 650 students. Located in an urban school district, a majority of the students qualify for the federal breakfast and lunch program. The district has recently experienced a new rezoning, and in result there are buses now bringing 200 students from the surrounding neighborhoods to the school. Lacy Elementary opens its’ doors at 7:30 a.m., although school doesn’t begin until 8:30 a.m. Teachers are not required to report to school until 15 minutes prior to school beginning, however, teacher assistants or paraprofessionals are paid a stipend to supervise students before and after school. Although they have this opportunity, there are only two individuals who have chosen to supervise in the breakfast program. To provide additional assistance, PTA volunteers and administration are currently helping supervise when able.
As the principal of any school you have the increased responsibility for the compiling to the rules of the local school district as well as state and federal guideline. This becomes especially true as you undertake the challenge of serving as principal of the Elm Street Elementary School. The Elm Street Elementary School is a small suburban school located in Prairie Hills, USA. This school serves students in kindergarten to fifth grade.
"You know, 20 years ago when I started in this business, I never had to have discussions with the computer folks. My, how have times changed! Today, about 90% of my equipment located within the facility can be managed via my laptop and Web browser. Whenever I plug my laptop into the telephone looking jack in the wall, my operating system says that I'm now operating at 10 megabits. Then, whenever I browse to my equipment, I cannot retrieve any data. After going back and forth with the HVAC support techs, they determined that my connection needed to be 100 megabits. They said it must be my network
As mentioned in previous writings, East Bridgewater has gone through a reorganizational period throughout the last 4 years. Although positive aspects have emerged including an increase in technology to meet the needs of the 21st century student, a new state of the art building, and an increase in funding for the school district to sustain the new building, there has also been negative facets as well. After the reorganization of the district in the 2012 - 2013 academic year, East Bridgewater Jr/Sr High school went from a Level 1 9-12 school to a Level 2 7 - 12 school. Student enrollment, which has increased due to the new building and school choice, currently serves approximately 1016 students
Smithton and Freeburg grade schools have always been rivals when playing junior high sports. Being a Smithton Cougar, I felt a rush of anxiousness before a game against the Freeburg Hornets no matter what sport: softball, basketball, or volleyball. At the time, basketball was my favorite sport; it was my favorite thing to do. Basketball games against Freeburg were one of the most stressful but exciting games I would play during my junior high career. I remember the nerves that never failed to come when tying my shoes and getting ready to play one of the toughest games of the season. Maybe they intimidated me a little, or the close proximity of our towns brought out those nerves. My heart raced with adrenaline. Part of the anxiousness came from

At Poe Middle School, my mentor Ms. Adams interact with her co-workers, students and parents by stressing the "core value of respect, integrity, cooperation and care for one another.” Every time she walks down the hallway and hears students disrespecting each other, putting each other down or using foul language, she stops them and corrects their behavior. When there was a situation in the classroom between a teachers and a student, Ms. Adams cooperates with teacher request. She has built relationships with her teachers and they trust her. Ms. Adams’s students know she cares for them because she frequently ask them about their siblings or family members. I would improve this strategy by having daily announcements about each of these core values. I would choose one for the week and would expect to see students, faculty and staff practice it throughout the week. The next week the school would practice another core value for the week. We would do this all year long.
A recently hired assistant principal from another school in the district has been placed as the interim principal of Shoreline Elementary, a small elementary school with very involved parents and mostly well behaved students. The interim principal has been doing well in her new position and is hoping to become the principal as it is unlikely that the former principal will return.
About a year ago an elementary school password mishap created a huge issue for a county. A weak network password allowed hackers to infiltrate a Gloucester County school district's network in which their files were held hostage for more than \$125,000. This attack occurred in Swedesboro-Woolwich Elementary's network and led to its files being locked and interrupted. The hackers gained access due to a weak set of network and security and accomplished this task by identifying an open port and trying various passwords until one worked. The district didn't pay the ransom and lost their email server, cafeteria lunch ordering system, and their classroom computers. This case study shows the importance of maintaining a balance between strong passcodes,
Inside of the classroom there was a different objective I observed such as three calendars, three tables, a cabinet, 15 pack backs on the shelves and glitter. There were 2 flags, four plants and children sitting and lunch set. There were wood blocks, children pictures, pencil and crayons. There was hand paint, one clock and three rugs. There was three teachers and one with it an apron on.
