I have my associates degree in Office Management that I obtained in 2015. Last year, my husband and I decided to start on our bachelor’s degree in Business Management together. I am married to my amazing husband for twenty years and we have three amazing children. How I balance school work with life is very carefully by using a calendar, to do list, using my time wisely and having a quiet spot at home to study.
Our oldest son is in college studying Criminal Justice. Our middle son is in high school taking a lot of honor classes. Our daughter is in Jr. High trying out for the basketball team. If she makes the team, we would be going to many games to watch her play. We use a schedule board to help keep everyone on track for the month. My

By doing this, it helps me to stay on track. I have some mornings where I have about an hour and a half to myself before I go to work. I use that time to wash dishes, do the laundry and pick up around the house as much as I can. I try to have everything done before I leave for work by having everything ready for the evening when we get home. I do this so that there is not much to do when everyone gets home in the evenings. Finding time to study and do homework can be challenging at home. With school starting and everyone still getting in the groove of things, everything should start slowing down for us soon. And my husband and I can start being more diligent with our studies.
Now the way I handle my work responsibilities with my studies is setting aside a couple of hours a day for school work. I have a lot of time at work to do some studying. I have been at my full-time job for six years now. I am an Office Manager for Climate Control Storage. My job is easy at times and I do not have that many customers that come by the office. If I do not have much going on at work, I can get about four hours of study time done. I am at work for nine hours a day, Monday thru Friday. So, it is a perfect opportunity for me to study. My boss understands the importance of school and encourages me to study as much as I can. The only time that it is hard for me to study Business Management at work would be the
Another road block I may face is I am always busy! If I am not at school I’m at work if I am not at work I’m sleeping or studding, there is never a dual moment in my life. Thankfully my boss works with me and cut my hours back so I could focus more on school, which helps a lot. I am also blessed that my parents and Aunt and Uncle support me, and push me to my fullest potential.
In today's century it is essential to have an education to enhance your job and provide a comfortable future for your family. After having children we realize that education is significant in order to succeed. While working takes a lot of time away from family, adding school to your schedule makes it difficult to spend quality time with your children. The problem most people face with balancing school, work, and family is being an excellent student, an outstanding employee, and a caring parent all in the same day.
Hi Octavia. I also stated some of the same challenges you stated. It’s hard finding a balance between work, family, and studying. You want to be able to interact with your family once you leave work, but your focus should be on reading the next chapter. With me I can get side tracked easily. I’ll end up helping my little girl with her work and then she’ll want to go out for dinner or to play. Once I start to interact with her I lose track of everything. When everything is over, I have to go to bed for work. It’s hard but you have to have self-control. I must say in the past when I was taking online classes I had a great support team. My boyfriend was very understanding and supportive. Someone from my class was always available. It was a great
Life at home and life at school are two very distinct worlds. Life at home is working to help or support the family, meanwhile life at school is doing homework and studying for classes and tests. Balancing life between school and home is tough. Some first generation college students go through this every day. They have school work that might be due within a few days but they’re too busy working to support their family to do anything college related.
First, our family's dynamics. Right, wrong, or indifferent, our family has dynamics that may not be in play in your "typical" student's family. I say this as a precursor to this... I believe your priorities and ours may not always match, but hopefully the success of Emma, the child of topic, does match. First of all, my husband and I both work advanced careers. Many days I leave as early as 6am and get home as late as 6pm, and some days, I work until 9pm or later. Jeremy and I switch off working late many times as well. I have two children with special needs and have hundreds of appointments each year to attend, which also means at times, I work in
I would advise Shania that an LLC would be the best form of business to accomplish her goals. Shania wants to open a Christian coffeehouse and already has a name in mind. Colorado LLC laws allow LLCs to be formed with one or more members, taxes them at a lower rate like partnerships and sole proprietorships, and provides the members with lower liability that protects them from the company’s debt (Scrofano, n.d.). This form of business will give Shania the ability to name her company what she wants and run it how she wants. The limited liability is also desirable.
For me attending school again came at a great time in my life. My only child is away at college so i have very little going on with my time outside of work. I find myself with more than enough time to focus on my course work. The biggest obstacle in time management for me is getting in a new routine and discipline.
Jut trying to keep up with all the work is frustrating. Sometimes you have to work long hours and come home to homework. We have to learn to prioritize our time and determine which activities cone first.
Trying to balance school, work, and life in general is hard, but it is rewarding. I have to commit myself to getting things done and not put them off. I know I have a lot on my plate but I know that if I work hard and continue to pace myself I can do it. I just have to make the time to do it and decide what is more important to
According to Timm, it’s important to be able to balance school and work. Timm said mMany incoming students, when coming from high school to college, are surprised when they find out thethat the college workload is a lot heavier. Needless to say, school is expensive, so students should avoid missing classes, lectures or events simply for the sake of a job. A student should make sure to discuss their class schedule with their employer and figure out what time schedule works best for their academic life.
I understand being down this road before, I attended business school after high school, I was able to complete my program while working two, sometimes three, part-time jobs and attended night training to be a state certified first responder and firefighter. Although I succeeded with each, the schedule became tiresome very quickly, I don’t feel that I gave it my all because the focus was too wide. Like you, I plan to schedule time during the week to give my studies my “full” focus.
Peter Nicholson wishes to convert the factory in the north east to production of the electric taxi. Using data in Appendix C, Table 1, calculate payback period and the average rate of return.
In reading the first article Coach Knight: The Will to Win, I found the article found Coach Knight to be very offensive and mean to his players. Coach Knight did not display good leadership skills. According to the article, Coach Knight’s drive and passion for excellence was not always received as well as his record of wins and losses Snook, Per low, Delacey, 2005).
First of all, students who try to juggle job and school responsibilities find trouble at school. Early morning classes, for example, are particularly difficult for me. Because
Balancing study with home and work is excruciatingly difficult in my circumstances given that I have numerous responsibilities on my plate. These include the fact of having grandchildren to care for, working full-time (Monday-Friday 24 hours a day) as a health-aid worker, and helping my boyfriend's mother out every other weekend. During the week, there is the intensive and unceasing responsibilities of my job leaving me almost nil time for housework. Sleeping is a treat for me. Finally, I need to dedicate time to my boyfriend both for my own pleasure and for the necessity of retention of the relationship. I therefore see him on the weekends, dividing those weekends between him and the grandchildren. Life, as you see, is hectic and even thoguh my studies are important to me, and I do cram them in on weekends, I am usually so tired and pressed with minimal time that it is an effort to concentrate on and find time for my studies.
