The creation of schools is one of the leading ways to produce hope and stability in refugee camps. Many would love to go to school because, currently they have no other option, but to teach themselves. Refugees can recall having great memories of their past school experiences, which they use as motivation to continue to learn. On account of my involvement with a refugee relief organization, I have been assigned the job of creating schools in the Chechen refugee camps of Chechnya. The primary means of survival and daily focus for these refugees have been through humanitarian aid. That assistance is made

Two very similar countries, the United States and Canada, with similar cultures are located right next to each other. They are both high income nations and are fairly well off. One of the main differences between these two countries are their systems of paying for healthcare. Canada has a single-payer system that is mainly funded by the government and also the taxes of those who live there. The United States has a multi-payer system where insurance is purchased by an individual or given to them by their employer. It is a highly privatized industry and plays into America’s deeply capitalistic society. This capitalism is the root cause of the differences between the two countries.

This presents an opportunity for concern citizens and individual that advocate for the education of children to make a difference. Concerned parents and citizens can also make a difference can donating to the Office Depot National Backpack Program. Another organization that helps disadvantaged children is The International Rescue Committee, which helps refugee children just entering the United States educational system. Since her time in country, she was able to conclude that there are millions of Syrian refugees left to fin for their own and are continually seeking new stability. In fact, Instabul alone has one of the largest migrated Syrian population with over 2.5 million refugees who showed up with just the clothes on their back. One of her displayed pieces clearly expressed these concerns as it displayed an older gentleman holds a sign stating, “We are from Syria. Can you help us! Thank you.” -Seemingly, it has become beneficially supported by tourist and their sense of compassion rather than that of the Turkish people. So by, putting a face on Syria, Tina has been able to expose and express a great deal Syria’s turmoil and bring cultural awareness to others. Her overall goal was built off experience: to understand that we’re more alike than different as human beings and we should help these fellow nations in its time of being oppressed. This methodology has allowed Tina to create her Syrian refugee project in regards to such. Doing so by donating 100% of this projects proceeds towards the support of getting Syrian refugees children educationally funded and
The mission trip focused on helping refugees who just arrived from various countries to acclimate to life in the U.S. Being an immigrant myself, I easily empathized with the refugees. I was fascinated when I learned that right after we conclude our mission trip, the refugees were scheduled to have their initial health screening exams and physicals at Siloam. The mission trip broadened my perspective of how different organizations, such as Siloam, World Relief and Lipscomb, intricately coordinate their efforts to provide a service that truly makes a difference. As a result, I learned the process of serving refugees from the moment they stepped foot on American soil to helping them establish and acclimate to life in America. This newfound understanding provided me with an eagle’s eye of the entire process, which will be fundamental when I partner with these organizations in building and establishing hospitals and healthcare institutions in caring for the disadvantaged. This experience kindled my fervor for mission trips, serving those from disadvantaged backgrounds, and eliminating healthcare disparities both locally and

The picnic also celebrates and shares aspects of the African culture. In 2016, we were the recipient of a Reasons for Hope MLK fund grant. We were able to host a successful social event that promoted peace and understanding among Asian, Latina, African American, and African immigrant/refugee communities

In 2016, SAMS launched ‘SAMS Global Response’ in order to provide medical relief and quality care to refugees in Europe. Volunteers of SGR serve as first-responders to medical and humanitarian disasters that plague the world.
