The Good in Evil
Cannabis has broke out of the cuffs, that this society chained on it, showing its significance to some, but the others has not yet come to the conclusion of the truth. Cannabis can be evil if it’s misused; But what about the people that can benefit from the use of cannabis? Many are quick to judge the calm setting vibe that you can get with cannabis, yet not realizing that the same vibe can make a person’s life easier. No, not the “I have mommy and daddy issues” , but people with life threatening illnesses. Society wants to put the label “Bad” or “Evil” on a plant that could do more then get you high.
Cannabis also known as marijuana, dried, shredded flower/leaves of of the hemp plant. Hemp was widely used in the 17th century

United Patients Group has an article named “Illnesses with Medical Cannabis,” that shows the illnesses that can be helped with cannabis. Some were glaucoma, cancer, and certain types of diabetes. Like i said there is medical cannabis, but the thing is that some people are so interested on not messing up their “innocence” label that they are to ashamed to take cannabis even medically. Can you imagine being shamed for the one thing that could help your pain. Just think that could be someone you cared about, maybe even …show more content…
One big one is that the access of it could get easier for kids, which is completely false. Reality is that it's easier for a kid to get cannabis then it is for them to walk into a store and buy alcohol or cigarettes. How many drug dealers ask for ID? Not many. So if we legalized it cannabis would most likely become harder for kids to get. I can see how many people question the addiction rate on it, but there has been studies that show “About 9 percent of people who use marijuana will become abusers” (Barclay, R.). There can be some issues with using cannabis, but out all all the good it can do society does not get to label it “Evil.”
Out of all this it should show you that cannabis can be a good thing. The history of it should show you that we didn’t always make it out to be a bad thing, in fact we thought it was a helpful plant, which it still can be! There lots of people that could be helped using cannabis. It might not cure their illnesses, but it sure helps with the pain. Looking at these studies informs you that some of the things society was scared about when it came to legalizing cannabis isn’t all that bad. So it’s time to see that it is not a bad idea to let cannabis have its come
(The Union, Brett Harvey) Tumors are one of the biggest diseases that cancer can treat. It is a proven fact that cannabis slows down the growth of tumors. (A NormL Life, Rod Pitman) The cannabinoids in cannabis relaxes their muscles which allows them to move and talk more freely and more understandable. (How weed won the west, Kevin Booth)
Thesis Statement: Marijuana has been regarded as a harmful plant that can endanger lives and is thought to be nothing more than an extra problem to be dealt with in today’s society. However, based on its economic value and medical benefits, the cannabis has proven to outweigh its negatives with numerous other positives.
Marijuana is a mixture of dried, shredded leaves, stems and flowers from a hemp plant better know as Cannabis sativa. Uses of marijuana can be recreational or medical and the earliest recorded uses date from the 3rd millennium BC. (Rudgley, “The
The dispute over the legalization of cannabis sativa, more commonly known as marijuana, is one of the most controversial issues ever to take place in the United States. Its use as a medicine has existed for thousands of years in many countries across the globe. Legalization should be considered despite efforts made by groups who say marijuana is a harmful drug that will increase crime rates and lead users to other more dangerous substances. The legalization of marijuana can improve our society by helping with our economy, freeing legal resources, and benefiting the overall health of the nation though medical uses.
Many medically ill patients experience agonizing pain everyday that they can not easily control with regular pain medicine, so what’s the next best thing? There have been many recent cases where medical patients have used medical marijuana for therapeutic uses and found that it had slowed the progression of their disease or helped cure it. Medical marijuana has started to become more popular with medical communities and researchers. Medical marijuana can affect many things in a positive way such as financial situations and social aspects, while having benefits on medical illnesses. Medical marijuana that does not contain the THC drug should be legalized in the United States because it would provide therapeutic benefits without making the user feel high.
The use of medical cannabis seems to be extremely effective in treating a wide variety of neurological disorders Without the use of cannabis, the treatments of these disorders have to be altered to accommodate certain needs. Source C is a survey, statistic, conducted in California found that 92 percent of patients claim that medical marijuana worked for their specific issue. The results also found that a significant portion of people who used medical marijuana were for reasons that do not have effective alternative treatments, such as migraine headaches. Source E brings up that cannabis causes some of the same effects that other drugs have on the body, although there are not nearly as many long term effects that the drug has on the body, supporting Source C. The legalization of cannabis for medical use would allow these treatments to occur, and therefore allow more people around the country to have more functionable lives. The legalization of cannabis is not an extreme risk, but rather a positive influential decision for the better health of many in the American

Usually when society has a discussion about Tetrahydrocannabinol (formally known as marijuana or cannabis) in general, the conversation about the mostly illegal molecule or plant is usually associated with getting high, gang banging, and drug deals gone wrong. However, Naturally Perfected Movements will enlighten readers that this is not always the case. Many politicians, scientists, doctors, and everyday people seem to believe that Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is a deadly, harmful substance that can diminish brain cells and could eventually lead to many psychological problems. If used irresponsibly, this could ultimately be somewhat the case. If used responsibly, marijuana could be the gateway to medical breakthroughs like it has been in the past and could become, if not already, one of the most trusted forms of medicine. Also, THC will bring in a prosperous amount of profit that could bring many states out of debt. It could also provide financial needs to impoverished school districts which would help students excel with a highly effective and efficient education. As well as, funding healthcare to those in need of a more sustainable way of affording healthcare. That is why THC should be granted legalization in the United States for medicinal, economical, and decriminalization reasons.
Marijuana has been one of the hot topics in America and is yet to still be looked down upon by the media and government. One example of this is a poster for a 1942 movie called “Devil’s Harvest”. It’s a tale that has been highly fictionalized and exaggerated on the use of marijuana and justice taken to stop the spread of marijuana around the nation. In other words, an investigator goes on a hunt to take down marijuana dealers. Though marijuana is looked down upon and is also illegal in many states, it is in some ways still a beneficial medicinal substance in ways such as reducing nausea during chemotherapy. But the nation or, more specifically, the government, does notice a lot of recreational use by mostly teens and higher ages who get arrested on average of 800,000 people every year. This poster not only advertises to the audience about the movie but also gives the evil eye on marijuana in society. It could be portrayed as a warning to marijuana users and to others to keep an eye out for the “devil’s harvest.”
Cannabis has also been stated to be a “gateway drug” (Fergusson & Horwood, 2000) thus, by legalising cannabis there is more of a chance for user to become addicted to ‘harder’ drugs such as cocaine and heroin. This is generally because addicts become accustomed to the high they get from marijuana therefore need a stronger drug to get a similar ‘hit’. Another disadvantage of legalising cannabis would be that it might fall into the hands of minors, which can severely impact developing brains. By allowing marijuana to be legal, it increases accessibility to children. Causing children from a young age to become associated with drugs and alcohol, which can lead to criminal activity. (Himmelstein, 1983)
For decades cannabis has been looked upon negatively by society, this perception was created from negative experiences, and unfit role models that snowballed into stereotypes. Some common stereotypes are; if someone indulges in the so called ‘hard drug’ they will become more violent, loose sense of drive, as well as have a lower intelligence. Which is just not true, in this case it is almost the opposite. While under the influence of cannabis your body and mind will become relaxed and calm, cannabis can also be considered a motivator to complete goals and tasks, and finally multiple famous academic scholars have indulged in the plant, such as Albert Einstein who theorized E=MC^2, which has lead to mathematical and scientific fundamentals. There are some disadvantages that come with the plant, but are outweighed by all the benefits it is capable of.
The publicity that cannabis has received for a long time has been negative for many years campaign ads stated that marijuana was a gate way drug that would lead its users down a wrong path of using much heavier drugs. To understand why such huge campaigns made these type of statements, one must understand the up brings that marijuana had gone through. Historians have been able to trace marijuana usage all the way back to 2737 B.C. where it was used by the Chinese to treat medical conditions such as rheumatism, gout, malaria, and in some cases even absent-mindedness. After making its way through china marijuana began to show up in India and also in the muslim community where it was used recreationally. At
The use of cannabis toward medicine should not be shocking to anyone, since it has been around for centuries. As a matter of fact, it has been under medicinal aid for an estimated 5,000 years. Western medicine truly grasped marijuana’s medicinal abilities in the 1850’s. Infact, doctors documented over one hundred papers about how marijuana helped numerous disorders, such as nausea, glaucoma, movement disorders, pain relief, depression, and anxiety. It also helps cancer patients and those with HIV or Aids. Currently, many American patients have access to marijuana use so that they can have effective treatments for their illnesses. Medical marijuana use is achievable because
While the recreational use of Marijuana is considered controversial, the medical purposes have been a widely discussed topic among health care professionals, as well as for the patients that may benefit from it 's medicinal properties. Doctors and scientists have dedicated their lives to discovering new remedies and treatments for the illnesses that ail us, and they have collected very promising results from their research on Marijuana. Numerous experiments have been conducted to prove the medical purposes of this illegal drug, giving many sick patients hope. The research has shown two active chemicals that have medicinal properties, Cannabidiol (CBC) and Tetrahydrocannabiniol (THC). CBC impacts the brain without giving the individual a “high”, and THC has pain relieving properties. Even though the results of these studies are positive, many states are still leery of legalizing the drug because it has been illegal for so long. It is clear that Marijuana doesn 't exactly have a good reputation. Many people smoke it and end up making horrible decisions which, in turn, causes skepticism in our judicial system. However, since it will be in the right hands, and will be heavily regulated, I believe that doctors should have access to any medicine that will be, or could be beneficial to their patients.
Marijuana does help people in more ways than society things about it. Our elders in current day are either for or against weed. If they are against the idea, they would assume people abuse it or just use it for recreational use only. But to my family, we think of it as more of a health remedy that can solve health issues better than medicines. I examined a persuasive piece called “The Legalization of Medical Marijuana” by Vampire of Thought, which opened my mind to new thoughts.
