The project, “Monitoring pain in individuals who are nonverbal using a video-based algorithm and Android application”, was proposed by the Seven Hills Foundation for their patients with Cerebral Palsy or degenerative muscle disorders. These patients are often nonverbal, confined to a bed, and unable to inform a caregiver of their pain. The objective of our capstone project is to develop a pain detector for use in individuals who lack the ability to communicate their pain level. To provide caretakers the ability to know if a patient is in pain, we plan to create a more objective and quantitative method to evaluate pain. Using an Android application, we are designing and implemented an algorithm to process a video of the user’s face to …show more content…
It includes steps for failure mode analysis and examples of forms to use when performing such an analysis. ISO/IEC/IEEE 24765:2017(E) - ISO/IEC/IEEE International Standard - Systems and software engineering--Vocabulary This engineering standard provides a standardized collection of terminology related to systems and software engineering, as well as references to other source standards where the included terms may be actively defined. IEEE Std 982.1-2005 (Revision of IEEE Std 982.1-1988) - IEEE Standard Dictionary of Measures of the Software Aspects of Dependability This engineering standard informs measurements of software dependability, including maintainability and accessibility. IEEE Std 1012-2016 (Revision of IEEE Std 1012-2012/ Incorporates IEEE Std 1012-2016/Cor1-2017) - IEEE Standard for System, Software, and Hardware Verification and Validation This engineering standard provides guidelines for verification and validation processes that can be applied to hardware, software, or systems. These processes include reviewing, analyzing, and testing the project to ensure that it is intended and able to produce the desired outcome. Each individual member of this project has a different job title. Rachel Bellisle is the Project Manager, Jessika Decker is the Hardware Engineer, and John McLinden is the Software Engineer. Each team member was responsible for completing the duties of their assigned role, but all team members worked together on
In a classic definition, falls are untoward events which result in the person coming to rest unintentionally on the ground or another lower surface (Bok, et al., 2015). Falls, can be a devastating source of morbidity and mortality for the older adult. According to a Center for Disease Control (CDC) Report, “Falls Among the Older Adult,” more than one third of adults aged 65 and older fall each year in the United States and falls are the leading cause of injury deaths. Falls are also the most common cause of nonfatal injuries and hospital admissions for trauma in the older adult population (CDC Report). Unfortunately, the rate of fall-related deaths
It is always a wise choice to research similar case studies that may provide beneficial information relating to similar scenarios. I have done as such building my understanding of these scenarios which has a given me some background to my clients concerns. Several user friendly applications have offered me assistance analyzing security loop holes. They are the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
Guidelines are created to ensure a success interview process. Setup meeting time with the individuals, which will be interviewed and be prepared and on time. When conducting the interview examine the background of the organization and have a checklist readily available. Be on time for the interview be sure to pay close attention to what the user is saying and what the company are looking for. Refrain form using computer and information technology jargon. Collect both qualitative and quantitative information from the user. Distinguish between what is a desirable and essential requirement. Repeat back to the user what is
This section gives the details and specification of the software on which the system is expected to work.
During the practicum, one detailed assesses the organization as well as collaborate with the mentor and intraprofessionals. The major issue with the organization, Pacific Alliance Medical Center (PAMC), is the patient safety issue, fall. The capstone project topic would be Fall Reduction and Prevention. PAMC is a small community-based healthcare facility with only total 138 beds. There were total 72 falls in 2015 and 35 falls in 2016. Moreover, in the first quarter of 2017, 11 falls had occurred and just one week before my practicum, 3 falls happened within one week (these would be counted in the second quarter of 2017). The facility has spent ample expenditure in updating the new technological
The author is a nurse in a level two trauma facility in a community of approximately fifty thousand people in Oregon. The community is a college-town surrounded by a large agricultural area. There is a minimal ethnic diversity within the community. The diversity present occurs mainly from internationally students and faculty from the college. There is a growing population of women who desire low interventional births in the community. The author has worked on the labor and delivery unit of the hospital for the last 14 years. The hospital is the only one in the area to offer trial of labor services to women who have previously undergone a cesarean section. The unit on average experiences around 1000 deliveries annually.
MSA 699 is designed as the culminating activity in the Master of Science in Administration
I am a senior at my school and will soon leave for college. My parents have decided to expand their housing ownership to the college district that I will be going to and I will be the one responsible for their new property. As you can imagine I know next to nothing about owning and maintaining a house and, after looking some things up, I realized that I also know very little about how to go about things in the real world. I started this project for myself so I wouldn’t mess up something important for them, but quickly realized that it would make a great senior project. I already know the basics of how to take care of both myself and a house but I realize that I will need more detailed information when I graduate. The main area for my project is English as I will be producing a finished manuscript on the subject of living alone for the first time.
Test Plan: The software is tested using two levels of testing viz. black box testing and white box testing. White box testing could be carried out in three different phases viz. unit testing system/integration testing and validation testing. • Unit Testing: Unit testing, also known as Module Testing, focuses verification efforts on the module. The module is tested separately and this is carried out at the programming stage itself.Unit Test comprises of the set of tests performed by an individual programmer before integration of the unit into the system. Unit test focuses on the smallest unit of software design- the software component or module. Using component level design, important control paths are tested to uncover errors within the boundary of the module. Unit test is white box oriented and the step can be conducted in parallel for
For our capstone project, our group will be focusing on the examination and analysis of the newest version of the Android operating system, 8.0 or Android oreo. The ultimate goal of the project is to create a well documented and detailed source of information for forensic investigators examining Android devices running Android 8.0. Currently, there is very little forensic information about the newest version of Android, especially in terms of the newest features such as now playing, instant apps, among many others. We decided to cover this topic with the goal of keeping information current in the field of digital forensics. This is an important task, especially with the growing popularity of Android and the importance of mobile devices in
This is conducted at any time and looks keenly at whether the interface meets the guidelines. This form of verification is extremely efficient and very fast. The problem with expert reviews is that it does not leave room for improvements.
A system is an organized structure that has inputs and outputs that carry out a specific activity. A system is a group of components that makes up a complex functioning unit. When an element changes, the system will stop functioning right. Once the system has been defined by jurisdiction, budget, coverage requirements and user needs, the next step is to design the system using components and systems that are obtainable and have the desired features that the customer and the design engineer have agreed upon. If the design engineer is not careful, then there will be coverage, operational, maintenance and reliability issues that will plague the system forever. The equipment-engineering phase will specify each and every component in the system, (Wiesenfeld, 2010). Due to a problem or situation, there is a beginning and an end to a system that is tasked to solve that problem.
Demo’s BBQ is a small family- owned business which sells premium brisket and pulled pork sandwiches accompanied by a wide variety of slaws to top your sandwich. Demo’s BBQ currently runs with 8 employees, these employees face a variety of scheduling challenges as most of them are soldiers working second jobs, add to this that at times some of these employees are in the filed or even deployed overseas. The intent of this plan is to focus on ways the company can grow not only in regards to the business itself, but also in regards to customer relationships as well as with developing and implementing new products and opening new store locations.
The effort of this validation is a prospective validation. According to the requirement of PIC/S Guide Annex15, a quality risk management approach should be applied in the qualification and validation project.
