Brody, she explains and proves with reasoning and evidence on cataract surgery having a positive increase on your lifespan. Another technique she uses are persuasive elements that appeal to emotion to get you to feel a certain way. Jane E. Brody is an american author of science and nutrition topics. Also she is a reporter for the New York Times in its personal health column, and has written many books. She uses reasoning through telling what the procedure does and how it helps people. One example is that it helps vision so people can see clearly and it’s not cloudy. Jane says that the doctor she talked to said, “not only can cataract surgery give people a better life while they’re living it, they can also live more of it” (2). Another part to this study is that it’s more likely after the surgery that people want to move more because they can see better than before the surgery. …show more content…

"The visual impairment effectively being dealt with is not a joke, however diabetes and heart failure are executioners, and things we don't have answers for, so this brings hESCs into the standard."
According to the American Optometric Association, when "you reach your 60s and beyond, you need to be aware of the warning signs of age-related eye health problems that could cause vision loss. In second grade, when I placed my glasses on my face for the very first time, I entered into a different realm of reality—a reality where I could see things for what they truly were. I was intrigued by the way my eye doctor was able to help me in maintaining a keen eyesight during each annual exam visit. Being able to see clearly is one of the most valuable assets to have when living in this world because not only does sight constitute the majority of our perception of things, it also allows us to form a closer connection with our surroundings. For this reason, I have chosen to become an optometrist and improve the vision of others so they, too, can truly see all the world has to offer.
Research is used in nursing to support evidence based practice (EBP) and is done through qualitative and quantitative research. Qualitative research will be the emphasis of the study performed by Wittich and Southall (2008) analyzing the diary of a 66 year old female and her personal journey of managing the extended time period of being positioned facedown after her ocular surgery (p. 437). Description of qualitative research and evaluation of the qualitative evidence, trustworthiness, and thematic coding will be discussed in the body of this paper.
The eye plays an essential role in the human body. Being able to see and perceive objects by an individual lies fairly on the judgment of the eyes. Cataracts are painless and gradual whereas glaucoma can either be slow and subtle or quick and painful. A cataract is highly likely to result in cloudiness in the eye since light is prevented from entering it correctly (Tzu et al., 2015). According to Jensen (2015), glaucoma leads to a buildup of pressure in the eye, the resultant effect is usually a damaged optic nerve, and has the potential of causing permanent blindness. For a patient battling with diabetes mellitus, they are highly likely to develop diabetic retinopathy. This condition is usually shown by ocular hemorrhages, increased vascular

When thinking of the Niagara Falls one thinks of the falls natural and pristine beauty, however in Daniel Macfarlane article A Completely Man-Made and Artificial Cataract, he disassembles this thought. Hydroelectricity and Niagara Falls both became a discussion during the 1880s leading to several boards and treaty and what Macfarlane would deem as a negotiated high modernism. The International Niagara Board of Control dictated the amount of diversions each side got, which throughout the years and historical events increased to the point of public notice. This then lead to the Niagara River Water Diversion Treaty, implemented in October 1950, which was not beneficial to Canada. Due to public notice and the Boundary Waters Treaty, both Canada
It was actually up to the consumer to choose lenses based on their own diagnoses. Both vendors and customers assumed that the process of vision loss was the same for everyone as they aged.
Among the wide variety of refractive surgical procedures available for correction of post-keratoplasty refractive errors, the choice is tailored according to patient, ocular and economic factors. Patient's age and occupational demands should be considered during counseling. Cost-effectiveness and technology availability can affect the decision. However, the ocular condition remains the most influential factor in the choice of the best option (Alio et al., 2015).
Cataract has been known to mankind for many centuries, and cataract surgery for many years has enabled people to recover their vision, this assignment will be focusing on the different cataract surgery over the years the advantages and disadvantages plus on certain occasions the masterminds behind the innovations. Firstly it’s important to define cataract; a cataract is a cloudiness or opacity in the normally transparent crystalline lens of the eye. Plastic surgery is not the best choice for anybody because you never know what your final outcome is which Allison A. stated in 2008. Doctors cannot guarantee you will come out successfully from the surgery room. She also said that it is like a game where you do not know if you win at the end of the play. People turn to cosmetic products for better appearances but when it’s not enough or not satisfying to them, they turn to plastic surgery. They never think about the consequences of what they want to look like or the dangers and risks that are involved. Veronica S. (2007) believes that cosmetic surgery is more harmful than it is beneficial. Unnecessary surgery seems to put women in danger for the sake of Hollywood beauty. We all handle healing differently. Some may heal well and some won’t. Hykra (2005) states that if you have pre-existing health conditions cosmetic surgery can be really dangerous. He also reports that people with heart condition, diabetes, or if you are a smoker, or have allergies you may experience complications that others may not.
