Climate Change- Climate is a long term change in the Earth's weather, especially due to an increase in the average atmospheric temperature. According to research, it was discovered that the Earth's temperature rose by 0.6 degrees Celsius (C) and predicted that the sea surface temperature may rise by up to 1 degrees C over the next 50 years. Unfortunately, carbon dioxide and methane gas levels are the highest they have ever been for the last 420000 years. These two gases with water vapour, nitrous oxide and halocarbons create the five predominate greenhouse gases, effecting the environment greatly. Climate change is the unusual change in the average temperature of the earth. This unusual change is primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels, oil and coal. Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These gases act like bricks in a fireplace. They radiate heat in all directions long after the fire goes out. Because of the large amounts of fossil fuels burned each year, there is too much heat radiation. For that reason, the earth’s temperature has risen and will continue to rise, which has a negative impact on ecosystems.

Climate change is defined as a change within climate patterns that is largely due to increasing levels of carbon emissions in our atmosphere. These emissions create a blanket like layer around the earth that creates a heat reflective surface. As the sun’s rays hit earth, normally it would be bounced back into space but the earth would still retain some heat from the rays that it was hit with. The emissions blanket creates a barrier that traps more rays within the atmosphere of the earth as heat rays have a harder time going through the blanket into space. Climate change is caused through the increase of greenhouse gas emissions within Earth’s atmosphere. Through trapping sunlight, temperatures have risen over the past years thus being called climate change. However, through things like being energy efficient or changing aspects within daily life climate change can be lessened. Reducing gas emission both in peoples own life as well as world-wide is also an important response to reducing the effects of climate change and it is also important to be involved in organizations for the environment in order to help promote climate change.

The earth naturally warms and cools, but due to the burning of fossil fuels the rate is growing exponentially.

Climate change is the subject of how weather patterns change over decades or longer. Climate change takes place due to natural and human influences. Since the Industrial Revolution (i.e., 1750), humans have contributed to climate change through the emissions of GHGs and aerosols, and through changes in land use, resulting in a rise in global temperatures.1 Increases in global temperatures may have different impacts, such as an increase in storms, floods, droughts, and sea levels, and the decline of ice sheets, sea ice, and glaciers.

Everything is affected by climate change. Like socity, oceans, animal species and many other things. Many people disagree on what caused climate change. Some people say it is caused by natural causes and the natural orbit of the earth. Some people say that the some of the cause was from humans or even the only cause if from humans. In recent research people have concluded that there are nature things that can influence climate change but the is no way to explain it without bringing humans and society into the equation. Humans have been affecting the earth's atmosphere for many years. Climate change is mainly caused by humans and no nature.
