Changing or getting rid of something in the world is a strong power, you have to be wise on what you choose. If you could change three things in the world what would you change? Getting rid of tea, winter, and change the use of cell phones would make my world better. First thing I would change is the use of cell phone. No one knows how to be social anymore. Everyone has their faces in there phone and to amuse themselves they swipe up and down. Study shows that an average American check their phone about 2,612 times a day. Snapchat does not help anything, teens spend 34% of their day on snapchat. Have you ever seen any teen without there phone? A teen freaks out if they don't have their phones on them. It's like they thrive on having their
I wonder what happened to society? Back in my day everyone loved to hang out and socialise it was considered as being a human being. These days’ teenagers would much rather prefer to socialise with people through the use of the internet. Now it’s not the internet that’s a problem, and I am not saying that people should not browse through the web, but social media is damaging our teenagers lives.
Older generations don’t realize how much technology has affected this generation of teenagers, along with the social media that comes along with the technology. As stated in “How Social Media Changed Teens’ Lives Forever”; “Negative posts or comments also can do great damage to a teen’s self-esteem.” (Ashley Black, Thomas Atseff and Colleen Kaveney) While many parents think social media is just a way to connect with others, many teenagers take it for granted. For example, “quitting social media because it made her miserable and obsessed with appearing perfect online”, is what a teenager felt about social media and what it has done to her. Though many think that social media is a great way to connect, teenagers take it to another level.
If you were given the chance to change three things in the world, what would they be? First, I would get rid of bullying. Low hourly pay is another thing I would change quickly. It could help more than just my family. Finally, I would eliminate absent fathers. If I were given the chance, I would modify these things.
Today, we live very different social lives than teens during the Great depression. Teens today are very social to other people; we interact with others by Email, mobile phones, social network sites, and attending school. Today, teens are very concentrated in their social life, you can see many teens on the computer using Facebook or using their phones to text their friends. With these new technologies, we can communicate to friends without being next to each other or writing letters. Teens interact with adults by talking to teachers, parents, and ordering food at restaurants.
Isolation and lack of communication of others seem to be more concerning to teens these days due to social media apps like Instagram and Snapchat. And with everyone being connected by social media it seems hard to keep up with all the new things that happened with your friends or people you know. And according to some
With such a large percentage of teenagers involved with using the internet and social media platforms, they truly do have the world at their fingertips. It is true that this generation does not depend on fetching water, nor do the majority have to walk miles to school or other daily, laborious tasks. The advancement of technology has made modern American life extremely convenient. However, while our technology is improving, other things such as education and image, haunt this developing age group in a way previous generations never
On the list of one of the most used apps for ages thirteen to seventeen, Snapchat has really been showing what these kids are thinking about the elections and that has been affecting who the parents are going to vote for. I think personally a lot of the kids that are putting these snaps out are just trying to show that what they have to say about their favorite candidate or ever their least favorite candidate they still have a voice is this election. I think that kids that aren’t even eighteen yet shouldn’t have such a big impact on this Presidential elections then what it does have. These are what I think is wrong with social media today.
Social Media is taking the life out of our youth’s every day. More and more of our youths is turning into big couch potatoes because they are always on an electronic device. It seems like everything that have a colorful touch screen they are on it. What happen to the good old days when you can go outside and enjoy nature? What happen when you can easily communicate to them without texting them or spelling words right. We all are capable of communicating with words; we don’t need emoji’s.
The world has become a really unscrupulous place. That is why we need to get rid of the following things. All these things, in some way, have influence in the world. It’s important to have ambition and prosperity in this world. When we don’t have those things the world becomes a place where there is violence and despair everywhere. If I could rid the world of three items, they would be animal abuse, war, and dishwashers and here is why.
Social media is the make or break of a teen’s social status; many adults will not understand the importance. It is a must to have a social media because a teen needs validation to get by their need of society’s acceptance. They need to post about where they go because it makes their life look superior compared to others. They need to make certain their relationship with their significant other is promoted to assert dominance over any competition or threat in their way. They also need the occasional “selfie” to validate how attractive they are to their peers. The Snapchat story, a social media app feature that allows you to post a picture or video with digital effects for twenty four hours, is the best of the best. The Snapchat story helps confirm how hilarious a teen is and how skilled a teen is at placing an emoticon in the shape of male genitalia on picture of an off-guard person with their mouth open. It would be in a teen’s favor to post things like that on their Snapchat story. Although social media seems fabulous, there is a morbid side, the side in which you can get made fun of. A teenager has to be extremely careful when fooling around on campus and off campus because that there is a social media accounts on Twitter such as “@SoCalFession” where anonymous people post derogatory remarks or secrets about students and teachers from Southern California high schools, and which posts are proven to be rumors. Even proven false, the posts
In the emerging generation, teenagers have developed insecurities brought up by body image, advertisements, and the development of social media and its lack of privacy. These insecurities have left a mark on teenagers, and left them with fears of the future and the changes surrounding it.
Another sad aspect about the technological takeover that is social media is the fact that an enormous percentage of people have their faces glued to their phones in the public eye rather than putting it in their pocket and engaging in real conversation. I, for one, am victim of this. Whatever lack of social skills that I’ve been damned with stem from the fact I’ve been nose deep in my iPhone for a vital portion of these last few years. When it comes to socializing at the ripe age of 17 and/or 18 you are put into a high school setting where a ‘make it or break it’ is extremely prominent so if you’re to spend the majority of time texting at the party rather than actually talking at the party it’s more than likely that you ‘broke
Teenagers now a days spend only 24 hours a day in social media. We sit and surf actually nothing for the whole day. At the end of the day, we look like a zombie. The research says that people who are expressive in the social media are really shy in person. Social media also has its own pros yet there is this huge disadvantage of blessing youngsters with
What do you feel should be changed in the world? What is the biggest problem you can think of facing the world right now? If I had the power to change anything in the world, it would be unemployment, because it can leave devastating effects on families, the economy, and potentially other companies.
Did you know according to the Department of Health and Human Services that 94 percent of teens use social media? Which has showed us social media is a major problem. Social media is applications and websites that people create and share information, ideas, and messages. Social media has caused many problems, including it has contributed to people being isolated. Isolation is to be set apart or separate and to be alone, which is harmful because you can lose basic social skills. Social media harmfully isolate people and users because it causes people to not fully engage with others, they do not make friends, and they lose practice on basic social skills.
