There are many things that make a teacher great and they all can't all be defined, however; I have always considered the majority of them essential. In my opinion, a good teacher is someone who is passionate, reasonable, knows the material, listens, questions, is responsive, caring, nurturing, and helps develop minds and talents.
A good teacher chooses carefully when they develop lesson plans and they adjust it to the needs of their students. Children always come first in education, and that is why the decision they make should always be based on how they will affect the students. Good teaching is about caring for your craft, having a passion for it, and conveying that passion to everyone, but mostly importantly to your students.
It is very important for a teacher to be a good communicator, and for teachers to remember that each and every student and class is different. It is about provoking responses from the students and developing oral communication skills, especially for the quiet students, to help them to not be afraid of speaking out loud. Asking questions and getting feedback is a very important part of education. If a teacher answers a child’s question that means the teacher was doing their job and most likely, the student cares about learning if they ask a question. It’s about pushing students to excel with learning.
What really makes a bad teacher a bad teacher, is that they do not like their students, they do not want to be there, they don’t care, are lazy, only want a paycheck, and/or the only thing they like about this job, is the subject they are supposed to teach. They do not actually like teaching it to other people. Others know the content, but do not know how to explain or demonstrate anything to their students.
The type of teacher a student has can make or break a class very easily. If the teacher comes to class prepared to help all of the children learn, the majority of the students in that class will thrive in that subject; however, if the teacher comes into class miserable and acts like they don’t want to be there every day, the majority of those students will not learn as much; they are not engaged in that class. The students that have a bad teacher and are loud and out-spoken, they in
The teacher must be a reflective practitioner who continually tests the effects of his/her choices and actions on others such as students, parents and other professionals to grow professionally. A good teacher shows the ability to adapt to ever-changing circumstances the ability to reflect upon her students and the situation to try to decide what will work best for every student individually.
Research shows that attributes of the classroom teacher significantly affect how well students learn. Recently it has become clear that the
While there are many ways to be an outstanding teacher, every high-quality teacher should, in my opinion, have these skills and dispositions:
I believe that a good teacher should incorporate more that just academic issues. There also needs to be a great deal of learning
I believe good teachers are enthusiastic and capable of conveying their enthusiasm to students; constantly look for ways of improving their teaching and trying to keep abreast of developments in their subjects; and are sufficiently mindful and self-aware to be able to laugh at themselves.
Being a teacher doesn’t mean you have to be boring and uneventful. Being a good teacher shows that you know what your students like and make them want to learn. Being like Ms.Murrow would give your students a horrible year. Being Mr.White makes your students look forward to learning. Be a teacher that gets students to look forward to learning,
In today’s society it is nearly impossible to survive without an education. It is important that we have the right kind of teachers to accomplish certain goals. A good teacher is one who listens to their students and tries to answer any questions they might have about anything. I think that a good teacher should also be able to listen to others opinions and not argue with them but try to understand their point of view on the subject.
Everyone has learned something from another person, however we never stopped to think what makes that person a teacher. It could be the setting they teach in, or it could be the method they use to teach. It could even be the simple fact that they have a degree, proving they are a teacher. From the young age of 5 or 6 we legally have to start going to school. School is an educational building where one will meet different teachers throughout the 12 years of their educational life. Everyone has their own perspective of what a teacher is. Some good, and some bad. To me, for someone to be considered a teacher they have to be compassionate, dedicated, and passionate. A teacher that is a prime example of being compassionate is Miss. Maloney. A dedicated teacher would be Mr. Englebach, and the most passionate teacher, I have ever met would be Mr. Gamache.
The second type of teacher is and ineffective teacher. This type of teacher does not motivate or enthuse their students to learn. My seventh grade teacher was this type of teacher. She was a cake decorating teacher at the vocational center then became a math teacher overnight. At the begging of class, every day she would stand at the board and say class be quiet class shut up. That's all she would say the whole class and we never got anything done. Then if she would try to teach she would read out of the book and never give examples. If a student would ask a question she would say you?re not dumb you know the answer. The teacher always put the students down. According to
become successful. A good teacher plans with intention with all these things in mind to communicate the content of lesson to the psyche of the learner. A good educator is transforms themselves and those they serve to reach their loftiest goals.
Another point that makes a good teacher would be his/her patience. Teachers should not get upset or even worse, give up on the students who are not so strong in their studies. Instead, they should have the patience to slowly coach them, give them extra lessons, and find different ways to encourage them. Let them know that the teacher
For him a great teacher is someone who can interact with the class and give real life examples. They would spend a bit of time with each student getting to know them and figuring out where the class is up to and whether the pace of the class needs to be slowed down. He also thinks that giving some questions for homework which recaps the days learning is important. This needs to be followed up the next lesson and if the class isn’t grasping the concept then they will take that period to reteach the concept to ensure that all students have had enough time to learn it.
Last but not least, a good teacher must be passionate about what he/she does. Teaching young people is a teacher’s dream and
In order to be a good teacher I feel that one needs to be open and
Even the smartest students have certain classes that they cannot focus in, no matter how hard they try. Everyone knows that no one is exactly the same; for example, identical twins may look identical at first glance, if you look more closely, you will notice differences between the two. This basic concept applies to teachers and professors too. Every teacher has a different teaching method, some people may think that the teaching methods are the same, but it is slightly different. This difference may be due to the different subjects that the teachers are teaching or just the difference in personalities and teaching styles that each teacher has. These differences greatly affect students’ performances in numerous of ways that one could not possibly think of.
