Charles Darwin
I. Introduction
“A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life”, (Charles Darwin). Darwin meant that our lives are meant to be spent doing the things we want to do and what would better ourselves. Darwin spent his life doing what he wanted to do rather than what others would have approved of. Charles Darwin was an important and influential figure in history that had a positive impact on the world because he had introduced many important ideas of evolution to the world that challenged its current rules of life.
II. Early life/Childhood
According to his autobiography, Charles Darwin came into the world on February 12, 1809, in Shrewsbury, England to Robert and Susannah Darwin. When Darwin was eight

After the long five year voyage, Charles Darwin published his book, “The Voyage of the Beagle” in 1839 which showed his findings and observations while on the expedition. He would later publish a total of twenty-five books in his lifetime about the field of science. His ideas and theories were criticized by creationists who his ideas disproved and contradicted their belief of Creationism, or “the belief that the universe and the various forms of life were created by God out of nothing. It is a response to modern evolutionary theory, which explains the emergence and diversity of life without recourse to the doctrine of God or any other divine power” (Britannica.com 1). He would still, however, believe in his work until his death on April 19, 1882. By then, people have already accepted his ideas on evolution and natural selection, which would become to be known as …show more content…
Significant Accomplishments Some of Darwin’s greatest accomplishments were writing a total of twenty-five books in his life about the field of biology. His theories on natural selection how it affected the evolution of species, greatly bettered the field and now stands as the basis of the field of evolution. He was the one to phrase his most memorable quote, “Survival of the fittest”, which describes how only the best organisms of a species can reproduce.
V. Impact on the World Darwin made a grand impact on the world by introducing many people into evolution and disproved the principles of Creationism with his theories on natural selection and evolution (Darwinism). His contributions to science field in biology and geology changed how the world sees' life’s history as not instantaneous rather a slow ongoing process.
VI. Lesson Learned From Their Life (Conclusion)
To end it all off, Charles Darwin challenged the current ideas of science at his time and changed it for the better with his studies and theories. Had he given up, we would not likely have our current understanding of the world of evolution and the history of life. Darwin showed us that we should never give up hope and devotion to what we believe
One way or another Darwin presented an idea that totally offended some prominent men of his time. It was an absolute dare for the origin of species of origin to be published at that time, not because it was the first book or first idea of such, but it was publication that shook the widely believed and accepted foundation of the creation of the world and the things in it.
Charles Darwin’s book sparked large debates across the world, large numbers of reviews, critiques and negative responses were published. When Darwin released the book “The origin of species” he was more worried about the effects it would have on his fellow scientists than the public. “Through all this, Darwin largely kept his nose out of things, safely hidden in the comfort of Down House, trying to tease out what reviewers thought of his science amidst all the politics and rhetoric.”(“Chalres Darwin & Evolution” (2009).). Darwin kept on with his work, publishing the evolution in plants, animals (including humans), adding to the large amount of evidence he had collected over the years. As the scientific world started to come to terms with evolutional theory, Darwin collected more and more evidence which started to go in his favour.
Charles Darwin is one of the most famous scientists and theorists who had ever lived. Darwin has been written from his background to his evolutionary theory and on the reception of Darwin's ideas in his own time and in the years after his death. (Bowler)
Charles Darwin start his book off by explaining the fact that he carefully came to his conclusions through his research but was quick to publish his book because of his health and because Wallace had came to some of the same conclusions. During his reaserch he recived help from many different scientest including Doctor hooker.
Charles Darwin is a “great thinker”, but what is it that made him a “great thinker”? It was his hard work as a scientist that allowed him to come up with ideas that changed society. Charles Darwin was born on February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, United Kingdom. He died on April 19, 1882 in Downe United KIngdom. Charles was most known as a naturalist and developing the concept of evolution and ‘natural selection. His most famous voyage started in 1831, when he sailed on a five year voyage on the HMS Beagle. He sailed around the world studying living organism in various areas. All of these areas provided Charles Darwin with research that he later developed into the concept of evolution. He collected data from a variety of plants animals, and fossils.
Of all our modern minds, filled with many thoughts and great ideas, we have to wonder where all of these contemporary conclusions came from. What influences us to think on the topics we didn’t personally create? Charles Darwin is one key factor in our present-day notions.
When the name Charles Darwin is uttered, an immediate association brings about the concept of Evolution. Although he was not the first to "discover" this phenomenon, he was the first to explain it. In his book, The Origin of Species, Darwin discusses evolution- through variation, why it occurs, the struggle for existence, natural selection, the geological record, and several other topics. This book brought him great recognition as well as many violent attacks. It was written in a time in history when the people were very strong believers in the Church and God. Darwin was the first to contradict their religious beliefs of Creation, and was pummeled with criticism. Although today some still disagree, his explanation of
One of the greatest predictions made was Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution, it had a great impact to both science and biology and changed the outlook of organisms. But it took Darwin some time to realize and come up with this theory, he pieced together his theory after some of his observations and with that he made different discoveries that inspired his ideas. He has studied and observed many different species and their abilities, in fact the specie that changed his life was a group of different finches that he mistaken for wrens. Many of his observations are key to his development of the idea of evolution and how it
Charles Robert Darwin, born on the 12th of February in 1809. Born in the tiny merchant town of Shrewsbury, England. Darwin was a naturalist and biologist known for his theory of evolution and the process of natural selection. Darwin's theory of evolution meant that species survived through a process called natural selection, where those that successfully adapted, or evolved, to meet the changing requirements of their habitat. He studied birds, plants, and fossils. He noticed similarities among the species all over the globe, along with variations based on specific locations, leading him to believe that species we know today has gradually evolved from common ancestors. In 1858, Darwin publicly introduced his revolutionary theory of evolution
Who was Charles Darwin? Charles Darwin, is recognized for developing the theory of evolution by natural selection. Evolution a brilliant theory that explains how species adapt and change. His work became the bedrock of our understanding of life on Earth. What Darwin Never Knew is a documentary focused on Darwin’s theory of evolution. Over time, beneficial mutations accumulate and the result is an entirely different organism. Under those circumstances, I believe that we are descendants from fish, also that creatures change depending on the environment, and that we are ancestors of apes.
Our guest speaker, Mr. Renoll focused on charles darwin and the theory of evolution. Charles was always interested in naturalism which led him to the voyage of Beagle. After the voyage of Beagle he came back with a lot of information, samples and spent the next 10 years studying them. He wrote a book that was revolutionary, it changed the way people thought about life, and was later the accepted scientific explanation to the scientific community, to why we have so much diversity on earth.
Charles Darwin was a british naturist. Stated in our brain pop video, he was most famous for his theory on the finches, which is a type of bird. Darwin's voyage lasted about 5 years. On his trip he went to the Galapagos Islands where he found out that each bird has different traits for different reasons. Stated in the brain pop video it says that in 1859 Darwin published his findings in an article. He kept writing throughout his years and and then died in 1882.
Charles Darwin, who is Charles Darwin? Darwin was not the father of genetics like Mendel; although he contributed at it. He had a hard childhood and a hard time in school. Despite all of that he was different he like to observe and collect things. He never knew that his observation would cause an enormous change in the way we looked at the world.
I was very impressed that one man could change man kind. I am inspried by Charles to do my best and nver give up and you can do anything. Darwin socialy imppacted the world of science with all of his contributions to the field of science.
Charles Darwin was a man who shaped the way in which we think about evolution in modern times. He brought forth and described the theory of natural selection and survival of the fittest. To fully understand modern evolutionary thoughts it is necessary for one to completely understand the early theories of Charles Darwin. In this paper I will provide the reader with a complete background on Charles Darwin, describe his voyage on the HMS Beagle, and discuss his theory of natural selection.
