Why read aloud to children, it develops their listening skills. When they listen they are thinking. It also develops their vocabulary skills, builds new words. Children mimic what they hear. Reading exposes children to stories that create imagination, and fresh ideas in their mind. Without these skills it hard for children to comprehend what’s going on. Gives them motivation and builds a great foundation for success in their lives. The more parents talk to their children and read to them, their vocabulary expands and language skills come into play. Second, Why some read a lot and some very little.

To me, reading means many things, not only the reading of text on a page but actions of others and myself as well. Most other people may not say that they will think of baseball games when thinking of how they read in real life, but I view the game of baseball that way and I like to share about how I can read in many different ways in life. Reading books is definitely not one of my favorite hobbies to do, but every once in a while I will find a good book that will catch my interest for the next couple of months. My learning experience from reading on the field has taught me another meaning of literacy that I would not have realized if I had not thought about what reading really meant to me. I can now understand how I use reading in all different aspects of my life better, and not just in the classroom but throughout my everyday activities, like baseball.

We all know many kids who do not like to read from elementary to college. In the early school years, there was always an instructor or, a parent to always guiding us. Or they would say it’s time for silent reading or even force us to read. This always worked for the best because kids to today love to tell stories to friends and families. Malcolm X went to the Norfolk colony’s prison, library everyday where he would stay for at an hour. He felt like he was in heaven just from seeing all the different books. He would be concentrating so hard on the books, which he would stay up past the normal time to go to sleep. Sometimes when it would be lights out he would try to read in the dark just because the book was just starting to get interesting.

As a child, reading and writing always came with craft activities or competition. In Kindergarten, we studied a letter a week, so this consisted of learning its sound, location in the alphabet, and the written form of the letter. Each letter had a craft activity which grabbed my attention because I love arts and crafts. Because it was something I was interested in, I soon began catching on to simple words which lead to bigger words, and then eventually to books. Competition for “Top Reader” was also a great way to grab the students’ attention because this caused every student to compete for a prize even if the prize was just an eraser. These activities may seem simple and small but I guarantee you that I am still thankful for them each day, because those simple activities got me involved in a world of reading and writing

1. Timing. What i mean by timing is have a set time to check your bloodsugar even if you arent eating or drinking anything. What happens is that you leave your blood sugar alone till you get something with carbs. That doesnt work you have to constantly check in on it. For example i Check my blood sugar whne i wake up, lunch time, dinner time, 9:30, and mid night. Remember you can set the time whenever you like although your doctor should have already told you to check your blood sugar and medacate before eating.

Kid nation was a reality tv show where kids run a ghost town that was located in new mexico without parents only kids. It was an experience that many kids will never forget but there was occasion that did not turn out well and did affect the kids in very awful ways those ways were physical and mental injury were two big ones but their was also how the town affect the kids and many internal problems.Many people believe that kid nation was a good experience for kids but for my own personal opinion I think that it was very bad for the kids and could have scarred them for life.

Although reading is imperative, too many arrangements and rules can turn a child off and lead to feelings of resentment, anger, and resistance. Reading should be set to the tone and pace of the child.

Families are often encouraged to provide a variety of reading material for their children, especially at an early age, to give children plenty of options when learning how to read. When children are provided with a variety of reading material at home, they see that a high value is placed on reading. If parents value reading at home, children tend to value it also, and the more a child is encouraged to read at home, the more they will want to engage in reading in general. By being involved in their child’s reading development, parents can give their children a firm foundation to reading prior to entering grade school which will lead to a lifetime of reading enjoyment and

I believe all children can learn to read in a classroom that is integrated with differentiated instruction and has a safe and engaging learning environment which is rich with a variety of literature to light that spark in the children to want to learn. I will make an effort to get to know my children in order to be able to provide a classroom library with nonfiction books to inform the inquiring mind, picture books for the artistic mind, and fiction books to entertain. All books will be chosen based on their curiosity, interest, personal connection, and learning profile, in order to attract and enchant the young readers into going back to the book area again and again.
