The purpose of this paper was to overview some studies which examined the quality of the two programs for an evaluation. Two programs whose empiric background was researched in this assignment are Children’s Anxiety Treatment with cognitive-behavioral therapy (individual and family modality), and Adult Opiate Abuse Treatment with buprenorphine and naltrexone. These studies have shown the effects of different treatments which involves buprenorphine and naltrexone formulations for relapse prevention and detoxified opioid addicts. Research on

The results of the study indicated that cognitive-behavioral therapy has long-term positive effect in the treatment of anxiety disorders in children. Namely, 2-5 years after the intervention, the children maintained their gains over all three types of anxiety disorders. This was confirmed with a self-report and a parent-report measure of anxiety also self-reported anxious self-talk and self-reported depression (Kendall & Southam- Gerow, 1996). All participants in the time of the study did not have anxiety disorder diagnosis.
In another study, Kendall et al. (2008) examined and compared effects of individual and family cognitive-behavioural therapy in children. Those researcher conducted a randomised clinical research study on 161 children (44% female and 56% male) who varied in age from 7 to 14 years (M = 10.27). The study covered separation anxiety disorder, social phobia, or generalized anxiety disorder.
The results of the study showed that the two types of cognitive-behavioural therapy are comparable. Namely, the findings indicate that family modality of cognitive-behavioural therapy is not superior to individual modality of the same therapy. Hence, parent’s participation is not essential for positive effect of the therapy. However, it must be emphasized that even in the individual therapy parents were involved, only in a smaller degree, as a
An examination of current literature in the field of psychology has shown that cognitive behavioral therapy is an empirically supported and effective treatment type for a multitude of disorders, especially a variety of anxiety disorders.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of Psychotherapy. It was originally designed to treat depression, but is now used for a number of mental disorders. It works to solve current problems and change unhelpful thinking and behavior. This article based on cognitive behavior that further divided into several categories based experiments and explanations. Anxiety, integrated primary care, integrated behavioral health, primary care behavioral health, cognitive-behavioral therapy are the main objectives of this experiment to be tested on two patients.
This paper therefore focuses on several known disorders and its treatment by cognitive behavioral therapy. The next section will discuss shortly the content of cognitive behavioral therapy. Then the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy for several disorders will be presented as is known in literature. However, it is out of the scope of this paper to present all known literature on this subject. Therefore, literature mentioning het main results about the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy will be presented. The differences and similarities will be discussed and at the end the conclusion will provide insight in the overall effectiveness.
Research has shown that cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can be as successful as medicine in treating many types of depression and other mental health disorders it can be completed in a relatively short time compared with other talking therapies and because it is highly structured, CBT can be provided in a number of different formats such as through computer programs, groups and self-help books. Some research suggests that CBT may be better than antidepressants at preventing the return of depression. It is thought to be one of the most effective treatments for anxiety and depression.
This analysis has a special interest in the use of buprenorphine/naloxone and methadone in the treatment of opioid addiction. More research is being conducted as to
The article “Child and Adolescent Depression in the Family” examined the positive effects that family therapy can have on a child suffering from depression. The research found that all the studies involving a family focused treatment was effective at decreasing youth depression. I think that this would be especially important for the
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is ubiquitous and a proven approach to treatment for a host of diverse psychological difficulties (Wedding & Corsini, 2014). There are copious of acceptable created experiments that show to be highly useful in treating anxiety disorders through GAD Generalized Anxiety Disorder approach (Fawn & Spiegler, 2008). The purpose of this assignment is to expound on the client’s demography and demonstrating concern. The first procedure in this assignment will consist of the required informed consent and the client background information. Thus, a succinct discretion of the theoretical framework of CBT will describe the theoretic framework of CBT therapy expended in this assignment (Wedding & Corsini, 2014; Fawn & Spiegler, 2008). The next steps will adherent on how information regarding the clients past and present is problematic amalgamated to form an evaluation and to construct the client’s treatment. In the midst of assessment or the evaluation process and schema is implemented to create the sessions, examination, and provide feedback throughout each session.
Opioid abuse is extremely prevalent in today’s society. Many public health professionals are calling it the worst drug crisis in the nation’s history. (DeGarmo, 2017) Opioid abuse and addiction is an issue that goes beyond adults, it is plaguing juveniles as well. Juveniles are feeling the negative effects of this issue in many different ways. Some are watching their friends or family go through addiction, some have lost loved ones, and some juveniles are addicted themselves. I volunteered at the EB HOPE drop-in center which is located in East Bridgewater. The mission of the drop-in center is to provide resources to those affected by opioid addiction. They have an abundance of resources including retreats, rehabilitation centers, support groups, as well as faith based healings. They also have various support groups for family and friends of those addicted to opioids.
Does anyone you know and or love currently struggle with opioid addiction? Have you witnessed the loss of a life due to opioid addiction? Opioid addiction is a major issue we are all facing the United States either directly or indirectly. The opioid epidemic has continued to grow yearly, and shows no real solutions in the trend of it slowing down or it coming to an end. Doctors are well aware of this information and are working to reduce the number of opioid abuse cases created at the source. There are options available to addicts including but not limited to inpatient rehabilitation programs, detoxification programs/facilities, and outpatient counseling support. These options cost a significant amount of money, unaffordable to most addicts,
Today the recent growth of prescription opioid painkillers has made opiate use far more domesticated and widespread than ever before. Even though heroin use has declined, the use of prescription opiates has increased. The use of prescription opiates for people who are dependent on the drugs for pain reduction has lead to an increase in abuse. When a family member or friend begins taking the drugs, not because they need them, but because they want to feeling, it becomes an addiction. Even though an addict is dependent on opiates, a person who is opiate-dependent is different because of the psychological, physical, and financial effects.
For my relapse prevention research paper, I wanted to choose a substance/individual combination which would be convoluted, devoid of a simple or straightforward treatment plan. Due to my interest in healthcare, I decided to address an increasingly prevalent issue in the field, substance dependence to clinically-prescribed opiates. According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), the number of opiate prescriptions written in the United States has skyrocketed over the past two decades. In 2013, the United States Department of Health and Human Services reported that there were an estimated 1.9 million illicit opiate users in the United States who were either abusing or dependent prescription pain
Opiate addiction is an intricate part of the history here in the United States and globally. It is a cycle of abuse, misinformation, medical discovery, pain, and death that spans generations. While many naively believe that this type of addiction is unique to the late 20th and 21st century, it is one that our ancestors battled. Among laymen and physicians, there is a mixture of misunderstanding about what this type of addiction is and how it, not only, stems from the nature of opiates but the psychological factors behind this type of disease. Opioid and Heroin addiction are treatable with a combination of chemical treatment and counseling. Having worked in a Methadone clinic that specialized in this specific combination treatment that required
At one time, drug addicts were viewed as a creepy individual that hung around alleys looking to score drugs. Today, we realize that drug addiction affects people from every walk of life. Drug addiction or more precisely, opiate addiction might affect a housewife next door, a graduate student, a grandparent, a teacher, doctor, lawyer, celebrity, beauty queen, model, baby sitter, or the teen delivering the newspaper. Opiate addiction is a new phenomena that is slowly taking over the country. Just about everyone knows someone that has experienced a drug problem now or in the past. However, opiate addiction treatment has saved numerous lives.
Addiction therapy is an extremely tough and painful process to overcome for an addict, especially when it comes to heroin addiction. Presently, heroin is one of the most devastating and destructive illegal drugs in the nation, in terms of the effect it ensues on the person using, their life and social surrounding. Due to the chemically addictive nature of the drug, it makes treating heroin addiction a gruesome process. Not only does heroin affects the individual physically, but it also affect them emotionally and mentally. Many people all over the world are addicted to heroin without ever seeing the hope of recovering, which leaves many to question the effectiveness of treatment therapy as a mean to achieve abstinence.
